Tech major Apple has introduced restrictive guidelines of its App Store in order to allow entry to popular game streaming giants like Google Stadia, Microsoft’s xCloud and many others on its iOS-enabled gadgets. However, it’s not as easy as it sounds. In an official blog post, Apple has further added that the games offered in a streaming game service subscription must be downloaded directly from its App Store, must be designed to avoid duplicate payment by a subscriber, and should not disadvantage non-subscriber customers. Furthermore, a blog post by Apple Developer has added that streaming games are permitted so long as they adhere to all guidelines. The Cupertino-based tech giant also gave an example stating that each game update must be submitted for review, developers must provide appropriate metadata for search, games must use in-app purchase to unlock features or functionality, etc. Of course, there is always the open Internet and web browser apps to reach all users outside of the App Store. Besides this, Apple Developer also notified that each streaming game must be submitted to the App Store as an individual app so that it has an App Store product page, appears in charts and search, has user ratings and review, can be managed with ScreenTime and other parental control apps, appears on the user’s device, etc. According to an official blog post by Apple Developer, “Streaming game services may offer a catalogue app on the App Store to help users sign up for the service and find the games on the App Store, provided that the app adheres to all guidelines, including offering users the option to pay for a subscription with in-app purchase and use Sign in with Apple. All the games included in the catalogue app must link to an individual App Store product page.” Asserting that the App Store is a safe and trusted place for customers to discover and download apps, and a great opportunity for developers, the official blog post by Apple Developer added, “These guideline changes and clarifications support new features in upcoming OS releases, better protect customers, and help your apps go through the review process as smoothly as possible.” Besides this, Apple’s Developer also stated that the apps that are already on the App Store, bug fixes will no longer be delayed over guideline violations except for those related to legal issues. And with LG’s 2020 TVs also being Bluetooth Surround ready, customers with compatible LG TVs will be able to connect two Bluetooth speakers simultaneously to enjoy their favourite tunes in virtual 4.0 surround sound. Earlier, LG has made it official that LG WING will be the first product to be launched under the Explorer Project on September 14 at 10:00 (EDT). According to LG, its new mobile category aimed at discovering new ways to interact with mobile devices. The main focus of dual-screen LG WING is on the evolving and ever-changing needs of today’s consumers and challenging established user norms. According to an official blog post, the video-conferencing platform revealed that Zoom’s 2FA within our unified communications platform provides a secure way to validate users and protect against security breaches and provides a number of benefits. 2FA provides an additional level of security that spares users from constant password management. With Zoom’s 2FA, users have the option to use authentication apps that support Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) protocol (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and FreeOTP), or have Zoom send a code via SMS or phone call, as the second factor of the account authentication process. In order to enable Zoom’s 2FA at the account-level for password-based authentication, account admins should take the following steps:
  1. Sign in to the Zoom Dashboard
  2. In the navigation menu, click Advanced, then Security.
  3. Make sure the Sign in with Two-Factor Authentication option is enabled.
  4. Select one of these options to enable 2FA for:
    • All users in your account: Enable 2FA for all users in the account.
    • Users with specific roles: Enable 2FA for roles with the specified roles.
    • Click Select specified roles, choose the roles, and then click OK.
  5. Users belonging to specific groups: Enable 2FA for users that are in the specified groups. Click the pencil icon, choose the groups, and then click OK.
  6. Click ‘Save’ to confirm your 2FA settings.
The two-factor authentication (2FA) is a two-step sign-in process that requires a one-time code from a mobile app or text message, in addition to the main Zoom sign-in. This provides an additional layer of security since users will need access to their phone to sign in to the Zoom web portal, desktop client, mobile app, or Zoom Room. You can also prioritize conversations from the key people in your life so you never miss an important message.” Furthermore, it has been revealed that Android 11 is people-centric and expressive as it helps developers build deeper conversational and personal interactions into your apps. It is worth noting that conversation notifications appear in a dedicated section at the top of the shade, with a people-forward design and conversation specific actions, such as opening the conversation as a bubble, creating a conversation shortcut on the home screen, or setting a reminder. Bubbles help users keep conversations in view and accessible while multitasking on their devices. Messaging and chat apps should use the Bubbles API on notifications to enable this in Android 11. Besides this, the consolidated keyboard suggestions in Android 11 allow Autofill apps and Input Method Editors (IMEs) securely offer users context-specific entities and strings directly in an IME’s suggestion strip, where they are most convenient for users. It also offers built-in screen recording using which one can capture and share what’s happening on your phone and no extra app required. Additionally, there are new ways to control the connected devices and media as one can now access all your smart devices in one place, simply by long-pressing the power button. “Control your connected devices like your thermostat or smart lock with a tap, so there’s no need to open multiple apps. Media controls have been redesigned and are more helpful than ever. You can now quickly switch the device your media is playing on, so you can take your music with you from your headphones to your speaker without missing a beat,” added Dave Burke. Apart from the above-listed features, an official blog post has added that Android Auto now works wirelessly for all phones running Android 11 as long as you have a compatible vehicle. This means one can bring the best of the phone on every drive while skipping the cable—get directions with a tap, talk to send a text, play favorite media and get help from Google Assistant. Android 11, also offers more control over your privacy and data. In a blog post, Google stated that one-time permissions will allow you to grant single-use access to your most sensitive permissions: microphone, camera, and location. The next time the app needs access to the sensors, it must ask you for your permission again. Moreover, if you haven’t used an app that you installed on your device in a while, you may not want it to keep accessing your data. Android will now “auto-reset” permissions for your unused apps and notify you accordingly. You can always decide to re-grant the app permissions the next time you use the app. With additional Google Play system update-modules, even more security and privacy fixes can be sent to your phone from Google Play, in the same way, your apps update. Moving forward, PUBG Corporation will take on all publishing responsibilities within the country. As the company explores ways to provide its own PUBG experience for India in the near future, it is committed to doing so by sustaining a localized and healthy gameplay environment for its fans. In an official announcement, PUBG Corporation has revealed that it is “actively monitoring the situation around the recent bans of PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite in India. It has seen an overwhelming amount of support for the game from the country’s player base and would like to thank the community for their passion and enthusiasm.” “PUBG Corporation fully understands and respects the measures taken by the government as the privacy and security of player data is a top priority for the company. It hopes to work hand-in-hand with the Indian government to find a solution that will allow gamers to once again drop into the battlegrounds while being fully compliant with Indian laws and regulations,” it added further. In order to attract PUBG fans in India, Garena has launched its latest update in collaboration with Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan. As part of the new “Be The Hero” campaign, players will be able to redeem Hrithik’s playable character, Jai; his costume bundle; and other exciting rewards by completing in-game missions. As the first Indian character to feature in Free Fire, this partnership builds on Garena’s efforts to delight the Indian gaming community with localised gaming experience. According to Garena, Jai will come equipped with the Raging Reload skill. Once an opponent is taken down, the gun’s magazine automatically gets reloaded by up to 25 percent of its capacity for ARs, SMGs, and pistols. Furthermore, players will be able to claim Jai for free once they obtain all 16 pieces of the puzzle and complete the Jigsaw Puzzle in-game event. They will be awarded with puzzle pieces by participating in missions from 10 to 13 September. Players who obtain all 16 pieces of the puzzle will be able to redeem Jai on 13 September.
