Apple’s 2019 iPhone XR will come in Green and Lavender colour options: Report

2

Last week, we learned that 2019 models of Apple’s iPhones will be powered by the A13 chip that is currently under development. The new A13 chip will soon go on its mass production followed by the production of the new iPhones as well. Apple will be launching three new iPhones this year which will succeed iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The latter two smartphones will have three cameras on their backs and will come with a bigger size.

But the successor of iPhone XR will reportedly feature a dual-rear camera setup and will be the smallest of the lot. And now, it has been reported that the 2019 models of iPhone XR will come in two new colour options replacing the earlier colour options of the iPhone XR 2018.

The iPhone XR 2019 is expected to launch on September this year when the Cupertino-based tech firm will be holding the annual launch event. According to a report by Macotakara, the new iPhone XR 2019 will come in Green and Lavender colour options. The new colours will be replacing the earlier colours of the iPhone XR – Blue and Coral. While there will be some colour options which will be making their return for the iPhone XR 2019 including Black, White, Red, and Yellow.

It has also been reported earlier that the new 2019 iPhones will have a better display and will be featuring the AMOLED displays from Samsung. But the iPhone XR will come in the same last year’s LCD display panel. The use of LCD displays will definitely cut the cost of the new iPhone XR but it won’t be the same as its top-end variants. Apple launches most of its top-end variants of iPhones with optional and regular colour options like the Black, White and Gold. This strategy seems to work for the company. But it seems to take a more challenging and adventurous approach when it comes to the colouring options of the iPhone XR. With iPhone XR, Apple introduced new colour options last year like Coral and Blue. And this year, it is reported to be Green and Lavender. Even earlier, Apple tried a new range of colours like Yellow and Pink for its affordable iPhone 5C in 2013.

Also, as mentioned above, the newer 2019 variant of the iPhones will be powered by the Apple’s new A13 SoC. These new chips will be an upgrade to the A12 Bionic chipset powering last year’s Apple iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max.

Oppo K3 specifications and price leaked: Here are all the details

A few days back, the key specifications of the upcoming Oppo K3 smartphone had surfaced online. And now, other details about the handset including its hardware, colour variants and price have also emerged on China Telecom’s website, which indicates that the device is all set to be launched soon. According to the listing, the Oppo K3 smartphone will come with a 6.5-inch display and feature dual rear cameras.

The listing also says that the handset will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 710 processor, and we should mention that this is in-line with the leaks that have surfaced online previously. According to China Telecom database, the upcoming Oppo K3 handset will come with a 6.5-inch display that will have a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. However, it does not give any other details about the aspect ratio or the pixel density of the screen of the Oppo K3 smartphone.

The image of the handset on China Telecom’s database, it can be seen that Oppo K3 will have a gradient finish. The listing about the upcoming handset was first spotted by ITHome.

Coming to the rest of the specifications of the smartphone, Oppo K3 will reportedly be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC clubbed with 8GB of RAM. Another variant with 6GB of RAM is also being speculated. The China Telecom database has also said that the smartphone will come with a 16MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary sensor on its rear panel. For selfies and video calls, it is supposed to have a 16MP sensor which may be housed in a pop-up module like the one we saw on Oppo Reno.

The database also said that the Oppo K3 smartphone will bear a price at of CNY 2,199 (approximately Rs 22,500). However, we should point out that since the listing is about the 8GB RAM/128GB storage version, the variant that has 6GB of RAM can be expected to be priced lower. As of now, there is no word about when exactly the device will be launched in China. But then, since the listing has appeared on the website, we can expect it to happen soon.

The listing has also added that Oppo K3 smartphone will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type C port that will have support for 20W fast charging. It has also been mentioned that the dimensions and weight of the handset are 161.2×76.0x9.4mm and 191 grams respectively. Instagram’s new Sticker feature will add lyrics of the song being played in Stories

Facebook-owned photo-sharing app Instagram is currently the most used social media platform. Facebook has started taking it even more seriously than its own platform and is constantly updating it with new features and improvements. Instagram has now started testing a new Sticker feature that will show the lyrics of the music that is being played in the Stories background.

The new feature will be a sticker, similar to the multiple stickers we already see on the platform. But this sticker will be able to show the lyrics of the song which is being played. However, currently, the new feature is still in development with no official release date revealed. This feature was predicted in April 2019 on Twitter when Jane Manchun Wong reverse engineered codes of the photo-sharing platform. She even demonstrated how the new feature works in a short music video “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Ashley. As reported by The Verge, the lyrics went alongside the song as it played.

Currently, it is not known what region will this feature be made available in. And information about the public availability of the new feature still is not known. With this feature being launched in the recent future, Instagram Stories are set to become even more interesting. The Instagram Stories feature let the users share stories and short videos on their profile for 24-hours. After 24-hours, the Stories would disappear from the user’s profile. But there is an option by which he can save the posted Stories to their profile to view anytime they want, for that they would have to check the option of saving the Stories to their profile.

In 2018, the Facebook-owned photo-sharing platform brought music to its Stories feature. This allowed the users to add background music to their regular Stories and customise it. The users could even add specific clips for their pictures and videos posted to Instagram Stories. Furthermore, last year, in December of 2018, Instagram added new and additional features which allowed the users to respond to questions with songs. There was also addition of new countdowns and question stickers for the live videos the users posted on their profile.

Moreover, in the recent elections going on in India, the platform brought a special Sticker for Instagram Stories. The Sticker was of a hand with a blue tick – the proof that one has voted. This was to promote voting and get more people to vote

Hotstar broke its own global record by amassing around 18.6 million concurrent viewers for a live event

Disney-owned video streaming platform Hotstar has set a new world record by gathering a record number of viewers for a live event on its platform. May 12 saw the finals of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 and it was streaming live on Hotstar. To watch the finals, around 18.6 million tuned into Hotstar’s official website as well as the application. Earlier, Hotstar had set another record last year as it gathered around 10.3 million viewers.

Besides this, in the 2019’s IPL, Hotstar’s viewership record crossed 10 million viewers three times. According to a Hotstar’s spokesperson, around 12.7 million viewers gathered on to the platform to watch the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. Earlier, Hotstar said that IPL had already garnered around 267 million viewership creating a new record for the platform. In 2018, the record was 202 million overall viewership. Seeing the ever-increasing numbers of concurrent viewership of a single live event shows that how the internet market and viewership in India has increased.

Netflix and Amazon Prime have already set up their own camps to invite more viewers to their platforms. They are constantly producing new and exclusive shows tailored exclusively for Indian viewers. They have also gathered viewers in the recent times, but Hotstar still remains on top. Hotstar, with its local parent organisation Star India have taken streaming right and broadcasting of many cricket series. And seeing what importance the game holds in India, this was a genius move on their part.

Prior to this, in 2017, Star India was owned by 21st Century Fox and it held the streaming and broadcasting rights for the IPL tournament for five years. For this, the company payed around $2.5 billion. Later, Star India was acquired by Disney for a staggering $71.3 billion this year itself. Last month, Hotstar gathered around 300 million monthly active users which was around 150 million in 2018. Comparing it to Netflix and Amazon Prime, each of whom have around 30 million subscribers, Hotstar is miles ahead in the race.

“In the last two years, Hotstar has expanded to three international markets — the U.S., Canada, and most recently, the UK — to chase new audiences. The streaming service is hoping to attract Indians living overseas and anyone else who is interested in Bollywood movies and cricket”, Ipsita Dasgupta, president of Hotstar’s international operations, told TechCrunch in an interview. The streaming service plans to enter more nations with high density of Indians in the next few quarters, Dasgupta said.

And now, Hotstar is even streaming the last season of the popular series – Game of Thrones, adding to its viewership. By the comment of Dasgupta it can be said that, Hotstar is planning to further expand its reaches and add to the viewership not just in India, but to other countries as well. And seeing its massive viewership base, this won’t prove much of a challenge to the Disney-owned streaming service.

Tinder Lite will launch soon to widen the scope of the app

Tinder does enjoy a lot of popularity as compared to other dating apps. And now, the company is planning to launch a light-weight version of its app in order to get more users on board. The new Tinder Lite app will use less internet and lesser space on the device.

With the lite version of the app, millions of people who own basic smartphones or have limited access to data will get access to the dating service.

The plans of getting such an app were announced in the earnings call by Match Group’s CEO Mandy Ginsberg. According to a report in the Engadget, she said that Tinder Lite will be an app that is better suited for areas where cellular data “comes at a premium.”

However, she did not say anything about the features of the upcoming Tinder Lite app or its release date. She only said that it will be launched “soon.” Ginsberg also said that Southeast Asia is a high priority for the company as it has scores of potential Tinder users.

We should also mention that India is also a targeted market for Tinder Lite as it has the largest population of millennials in the world.

Tinder is reported to have almost 50 million users worldwide and Match Group announced that its paid subscribers have gone up by 38% year-over-year in early 2019.

Recently, in order to get more transparency about how its platform ranks and shows people their potential matches, Tinder published a blog post that talks about the subject. However, the dating app still kept everything fairly vague.

According to the blog post, the company’s Elo score was a ‘hot topic’ till a few years back, however, now the ranking feature has been depreciated. Tinder’s Elo score used to rank people on the basis of attractiveness. We should mention that in the real world, Elo scores are actually used to rank chess players, but in Tinder, it goes up as more and more number of people swipe right on a person’s profile.

And then, their profile is shown to other people who have similar scores. It is Tinder’s way of making the most desirable people interact with one another. We should mention that since profiles are limited in scope, a person’s looks and attractiveness play a key role in matches getting made. But then, people also started speculating that with Elo scores on, only the attractive lot kept talking to one another, while the ‘undesirable’ people were left with a low ranking.

How to enable Dark Mode on your smartphone

Dark Mode has been gaining a lot of popularity lately because it puts less strain on users’ eyes and increases the battery life of smartphones. Over the last few months, we have seen a number of apps get the dark mode and now, the theme has finally been rolled out to Android Q too. Till now, we have seen system-wide Dark Theme on a few smartphones like Vivo V15 Pro, but those handsets had a customised version of Android running on them.

Although the Dark Mode is not available everywhere as of now, it can be enabled via some third party extensions too. Here, we have listed down how you can enable it on your smartphone. Take a look

How to get Dark Mode on iPhone

You may know it already if you have an iPhone, but we’ll state it anyway: iOS does not officially support Dark Mode. However, iOS 12 does have a smart colour inverter that offers almost the same effect. According to Apple it “reverses the colours of the display, except for images, media and some apps that use dark colour styles.”

The inverter works well with Apple’s own pre-installed apps as well as with apps that have support for dark mode. Here’s how you can turn it on:

  • Head to Settings.
  • Tap on General and then go to Accessibility.
  • Go to Display Accommodations and then select Invert Colours.
  • Switch it on.

We should also point out that a number of apps support Dark Mode on iOS including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, Slack, and Microsoft Outlook. However, a system-wide Dark Mode is currently available unless you jailbreak your device, which we don’t recommend you to do.

How to get Dark Mode on Android smartphone

Google has rolled out its a system-wide dark mode on its Android Q’s third developer preview, however, it calls it Dark Theme. The company has rolled out the Dark Theme on 21 smartphones including all Pixel handsets.

You can check out the list of devices on which the Android Q’s third beta is rolling out here. If you have one among these smartphones, here’s how you can enable the Dark Theme:

  • Make sure your device has the Android Q third beta update.
  • Go to Quick Settings from the top of your smartphone’s display.
  • If you see the icon of turning it on, click on it.
  • If not, click on the Pencil icon. You’ll find the Dark Theme.
  • You can drag it into the main lineup of your smartphone. If you don’t want to do that, you can simply enable it.

Apple is testing its new A13 chip which will power the iPhone 11, mass production to begin soon: Report

0

Although not much is known about the 2019 iPhone from the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple, it is confirmed that it will be powered by a new chip. A new report has surfaced online that claims that the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has started the production of the new chip for the next generation of iPhones. These chips are being called Apple A13 and as of now, and it has been said that they have already gone into the early phase of production. The report also suggests that the mass production of the Apple A13 chips will start this month itself.

The report first emerged on Bloomberg and it says that TSMC has started its early testing phase of the chips. These new chips will reportedly increase the battery life, speed and performance of the iPhone. The report further mentions that there could be around three new iPhone models this year and all three will be powered by the A13 chipset.

Out of the three, two are codenamed as D43 and the D44 while the third is codenamed N104. The N104 is being called the successor of the iPhone XR. There won’t be too many design changes to these new iPhones, but they will come with changed screen sizes. The successor of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max will reportedly feature a triple-rear camera setup according to their renders. While the successor of the iPhone XR will hold a dual-rear camera setup. In other words, all upcoming iPhone 11 models will have an extra camera sensor on their backs compared to their predecessors. According to reports, there will also be an ultra-wide-angle lens and better zooming capabilities in the upcoming iPhones.

And this time, there is a possibility that Apple might be jumping on the reverse wireless charging feature to charge the AirPods. We already saw this technology with some other flagship devices of 2019 so it would make sense for Apple to adopt it as well. The users can place their AirPods on the back of the new iPhones to charge them wirelessly.

India makes 6% of total global account information request from Twitter: Twitter’s 14th Biannual Transparency Report

Twitter, the micro-blogging website is a gathering place for many people. And in recent years, the popularity of the social platform has grown at a considerable rate. Millions of Indian users, politicians, actors, public figures have made Twitter a platform where they can announce something or have people listen to their words. But in a recent development, the Indian government had requested information about 422 Twitter accounts from July to December of 2018. Even the law enforcement agencies of the country asked the platform to remove 667 accounts from Twitter as they violated the law of the country. This deletion of 667 accounts had grown from 2017’s 237 account deletion request.

Twitter released its 14th Biannual Transparency Report on Thursday. In it, the social-platform provided some information to the Indian government in 18% of the cases. Out of the government’s 667 accounts removal from Twitter the company complied with only 2% of them. Other than that, there were 49 emergency disclosure requests made by the Indian government. In it, Twitter provided them with only 10% of the information requested.

Earlier, from January to June 2018 period, the Indian government had asked Twitter about 355 account information. Also, the government asked the micro-blogging website to preserve information of 100 Twitter accounts. To this, the platform specified 30 of the 100 requested accounts.

About this, Twitter said, “Upon receipt of a valid preservation request, we will temporarily preserve, but not disclose, a snapshot of the relevant account information for 90 days pending issuance and service of the valid legal process.”

But its not just the Indian government requests for account information from the micro-blogging platform. Other governments from other countries request such information as well. and this time, Twitter has received the account information request from 86 countries in total.

Out of all the account information request Twitter receives, the United States requests comprises only 30% of the total request. And the second highest account request information received by Twitter is Japan which is 24% of the global information request. In that order, the UK has made 13% request while India has made 6% of the total global requests. Germany has made 6% of the requests, France with 5% and together all of them combines at 30% which is the United States’ total request made to the platform.

Vijaya Gadde, Legal, Policy and Trust & Safety Lead at Twitter said, “We received roughly 8 percent fewer global legal requests to remove content, impacting approximately 2 percent fewer accounts, compared to the previous reporting period. However, there was an 84 percent increase year-over-year between 2017 and 2018.”

PUBG Mobile: The best and the worst rifles that you can use

Winning the Chicken Dinner in PUBG Mobile is hard. It is not something everyone can do. Most people think that only knowing the tricks that are involved and the locations where they can get easy kills is enough. However, we feel that to win at PUBG Mobile, you should also know which weapons you should use in the game. Here, we have listed down the best and the worst rifles of PUBG Mobile game. Take a look:

M416

M416 PUBG mobile

The M416 is the best rile that you can find in PUBG Mobile. But it only works the best when it has all the necessary attachments on it. The M416 is a very balanced and consistent gun. It doesn’t matter what range you are shooting at, this gun can manage it all. The best thing about it is that it is not very hard to find it. There are other good weapons in PUBG Mobile, but they are not as easy to find as M416.

AKM

AKM PUBG Mobile

This is the second best assault rifle that you can find in PUBG Mobile. The AKM will provide a consistent damage output. Although learning to use it is difficult, it can be used for literally any match and you are bound to win. The only reason we didn’t put it on the No.1 slot is that AKM performs better in the close and medium range not necessarily has the same output in the long range.

G36G

G36C PUBG Mobile

You can actually take this to be like a younger sibling of M416. The only reason that it is not as powerful as the M416 is that it does not have all the attachments as that. But if you have this gun, you really stand a very high chance of getting the Chicken Dinner. The odds are in your favour. It is one among the best rifles of PUBG Mobile.

Beryl M762

Beryl M762

This is a great gun to use in close range, but the long range is its weakness. But then, it is really amazing to use. You will be able to get a lot of kills. We suggest you to club it with M25 or AWM and nothing will stop you.

AUG A3

AUG_A3 PUBG Mobile

This is a very powerful gun and it’s fun to use it too. But then, it only performs the best in close range encounters. If you use it for a close encounter in PUBG Mobile, you’ll see that this gun can be devastating for your enemy. However, this alone does not make it a powerful gun overall.

Groza

Groza PUBG Mobile

This is one among the best weapons in PUBG Mobile for close encounters. But there is a downside to the gun too. The Groza is an air-drop exclusive weapon in the game and hence, it is extremely rare to see it in matches.

QBZ95

QBZ95

The QBZ95 actually performs very well most of the times. It’s a gun that you can count on. Even we compare it to Scar L, a gun that mostly guarantees success, it has faster firing rates but lower reloading rates. But let’s face it, most of us would go for faster firing rates in most situations.

Scar L

SCAR-L

The only reason that we have kept this rifle low on the list is because of its rarity. It’s extremely difficult to get hold of a Scar L in PUBG Mobile. If you find it, you will probably get a lot of good kills in the game, but somehow, it has always been one among the weapons that are too difficult to find.

Mk47 Mutants

Mk47Mutant

Even though it’s relatively new, Mk47 Mutant does come with its flaws. The main problem with the gun is that you cannot fire too fast with it. If you press the fire button too fast with it, it actually slows down the rate of fire. This, obviously, would not prove to be favourable in most scenarios.

M16A4

M16A4

Pick this gun only when you want to put yourself to a challenge. Not when you are playing to win the Chicken dinner. It’s not a bad gun and is known for its stability. However, since it is not an autofire gun, it does not manage to compete with other guns in combat.

Xiaomi to launch a Redmi laptop with its flagship smartphone on May 13: Report

After launching a number of handsets under its Redmi sub-brand including Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7 and Redmi 7, Xiaomi is now all set to launch its first Redmi flagship smartphone that will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Now, a new leak has surfaced online which suggests that besides its flagship mobile, the company will also be launching a laptop under its Redmi sub-brand.

It is worth mentioning that earlier this week, Tang Mu, General Manager of Xiaomi Smart Hardware Division took to Chinese social media platform Weibo to shed light on the Redmi flagship smartphone and its launch event. He teased that the smartphone from Redmi will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC is set to launch on May 13. However, he also added that the flagship smartphone will launch along with “one more thing”.

Until now, it was being speculated that the second product will be a new smart home product. But now, a new leak has been posted on Twitter by a user named ‘Sudhanshu Ambhore’ that reveals that the second product that Xiaomi plans to launch is a Redmi laptop.

Ambhore has also revealed a bit of information in the tweet saying, “#Redmi will also release their Laptops under #Redmi branding (like #Xiaomi’s Mi Notebook) with their flagship phone.” It is worth adding that as of now, Xiaomi has not said anything about the upcoming Redmi laptop.

Till now, Xiaomi has only launched laptops and Notebooks only under its Mi brand in India. If this information is indeed true, then this will be the first laptop by the company under its Redmi brand.

The leak further suggests that the upcoming Redmi laptop will be affordable, much like smartphones launched under the sub-brand. Although we can expect the Redmi laptop to launch in China, we cannot guarantee its release in India. This is because till now, the company has not launched any laptops in India yet.

In addition to this, Xiaomi is also expected to launch its Redmi flagship smartphone in China on May 13. The device is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, a 32Mp pop-up selfie camera, triple rear camera setup and a massive 4,000mAh battery. As of now, we don ‘t know if the Chinese smartphone brand plans to launch the smartphone in India or not.

However, we should mention that Xiaomi India’s MD Manu Kumar Jain has said that the company will soon be launching a smartphone with Snapdragon 730 SoC in India soon.

Xiaomi to launch two new Redmi smartphones this month: Report

0

Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship device Redmi X, that will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC, has garnered a lot of attention lately. A week before the device’s launch, a leak has surfaced online that claims that the company will be unveiling two handsets this month. Both the new flagship Redmi devices will come in four RAM and storage variants and will be available in three colour options. But other than the official launch date and launch venue, nothing else is revealed by the company. As we mentioned earlier, Redmi X is scheduled to launch next week in China.

The new leaks come from tipster Ishan Agarwal and MySmartPrice. According to them, the Chinese smartphone maker will be launching two new models of its Redmi flagship in China. Both of them will come in following variants – 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage, 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage, 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage. While the colour options will reportedly be Red, Blue and Carbon. Other than that, it is not known whether the devices will be supporting expandable storage. One of the devices might see the launch next week while the other might be launched later this month.

Agarwal has also added that the devices will hold the model number M1903F10 and M1903F11. One of them with the model number M1903F10G was already spotted on the IMDA database in Singapore. So, it hints that the launch of the device could be possible in the coming weeks. We should mention that this device holds a similar model number as the Poco F1. The Poco F1 had ‘E10’ at the end so there is a possibility that we might get to see the launch of the much-awaited Poco F2 later this month.

Moreover, Lu Weibing, the General Manager of Redmi earlier teased that the upcoming Redmi X (flagship) will sport an in-display fingerprint scanner. The battery of the Redmi X would also be large enough to last two days. It will reportedly pack a 6.39-inch Full HD+ screen and will run Android 9 Pie skinned with MIUI 10. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC and will feature a triple rear cameras setup.

Before the launch of the flagship Redmi devices it already has made a few competitors, closest of which is the Realme X and the OnePlus 7.

Google Photos ‘Colorize’ feature would fill ‘colours’ to the black ‘n’ white pictures

0

Search giant Google has announced a number of new features and products and updated many of its old services at the Google I/O 2019. One of those services that has been updated is Google Photos, and the company announced that it will be rolling out new features to the Photos few months later. Out of all the new features Google will be rolling out for its Google Photos, one of them is the Colorize, which lets the users add colours to a black and white picture. According to Google, the Colorize feature was achieved by the company using its Tensor Processing Unit chips. These chips power all the new features coming to Google Photos.

The Colorize feature coming to the Google Photos was received well by the audience at the Google I/O 2019 and it will be released soon. But the search giant hasn’t given an official date and time of the new update. The product lead of Google Photos, David Lieb also said that the Colorize feature is still in its beta phase now but he didn’t reveal the timeline of the launch.

Lieb took to Twitter to announce that the feature wasn’t ready for a commercial release yet. According to him, Colorize is still in works and the company doesn’t want to release it, before fine-tuning all the loopholes. Lieb also posted a video on his Twitter account showcasing the Colorize feature and how it works. In the video, Lieb used a black and white picture of his 104 year old grandfather’s wedding photo. Using the Colorize feature of the Google Photos, he tried to fill it with colours and managed to colour his grandpa’s pants to pink. He also wrote, “You can see we have some work to do; my grandfather didn’t wear pink pants to his wedding!”

Other than the Colorize feature, the California-based search giant also announced a Color Pop feature for the Google Photos. And the company also released the Color Pop feature for select Android users after its announcement. Unlike the Colorize feature, the Color Pop feature of Google Photos transforms the background of a picture to black and white. It uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and while the background will turn black and white, the subject in the picture will still be in colour.

Even though some of the features of the Google Photos are still in beta phase and in development but they will change the Google Photos completely.

Fortnite Season 9 gets new locations, ‘Slipstreams’ and ‘Fortbytes’ to the game

0

The Fortnite Season 9 is finally here. The end of Season 8 of the popular battle-royale game saw a volcanic eruption that led to the destruction of multiple locations. But with Fortnite’s Season 9, a number of new locations have been added to the game.  As expected the Battle Pass of Fortnite Season 9 has also gone live and one can get a number of freebies with them including exclusive costumes, weapons, and more.

Other changes that will be seen in Fortnite’s Season 9 are a new way of transportation called Slipstream, a new combat shotgun, and ‘Fortbytes’. We should mention that Fortbytes basically have to be collected and they can be used to unlock exclusive rewards in the game.

Speaking of the Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass, it will cost you 950 Vinderbucks (Fortnite’s in-game currency) and will get you instant access to a pair of new costumes. Once you rear Tier 100, you will also be able to unlock a third tactical outfit called Vendetta. Other items of the Battle Pass include a robotic cat, dual axes and flying disc toys. A game mode called ‘Wargames’ has also been added that will enable players to test their skills in four different simulations. With the Battle Pass, you would also be able to build your own version of Neo Tilted location. But to do that, you would have to go to the Creative Mode.

Coming to Season 9 itself, the most prominent change is definitely the arrival of the new locations in the game. While one of them is called Neo Tilted, the other is called the Mega Mall. ‘Slipstreams’ is another addition that you should know about as it a wind tunnel using which players can go from one place to another at a rapid pace while they gain velocity midway. It is worth mentioning that Slipstreams can also be used to transport projectiles and vehicles. The new season also comes with Air Vents that can be used to cover a small distance without any damage.

Another addition that is worth a mention is ‘Fortbytes’. As we said earlier, these can be collected during the game to unlock rewards. We should add that at the beginning of the season, only 18 Fortbytes will be available and one of them will be added each day as the Season goes by. Fortnite Season 9 will also get a new semi-automatic combat shotgun, apart from a number of weapons like revolver and assault rifle.

A number of bug fixes have also been added to the PC as well as mobile versions of the game and it has also been announced that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will now come with an improved frame rate.

OnePlus 7 Pro to come with an improved user-controlled haptic motor: CEO Pete Lau

Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus’s upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone has been in the news even before its launch was confirmed by the company. Ever since the company has announced that the handset will be launched on May 14, it has to share a number of teasers about it. Today, it has been confirmed that OnePlus 7 Pro will come with a better haptic motor inside as compared to the predecessors launched by the smartphone maker.

Speaking to CNET, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the next flagship smartphone from the company will come with a new and improved vibration motor that, according to him, would provide an “excellent” experience.

It is worth mentioning that OnePlus is making this change only after it got a number of users’ complaints that its devices have a “terrible” vibration motor that does not inform about calls and other notifications.

According to OnePlus, the new vibration/haptic motor on the handset is 200% more powerful than the one that it used before. The size of the motor has also been increased, and because of this, OnePlus even had to make some design changes.

Speaking about it, Lau said, “Our team had to rethink the internal design of the OnePlus 7 Pro, to fit inside the body without increasing the thickness of the device, which could lead to a less ergonomic feel. At the same time, we had to ensure that the haptic motor was in the right position so that the haptics would be strong, yet even across the device.”

In addition to this, users will be able to control the haptic motor on the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone. We should also add that the OEM will be adding the setting for calls as well as notifications. This will enable you to control the motor intensity from “light”, “medium”, and “strong”. The handset will also have a setting to “tune-in” the strength of the motor even from the keyboard itself.

We will have to wait and see how the move turns out to be for OnePlus. The device has been in news for a number of reasons already including its HDR10+ certified display that comes with a 90Hz refresh rate, the pop-up selfie camera and its powerful chipset.

As we mentioned earlier, the smartphone is all set to launch on May 14 and will be unveiled at simultaneous events in the United States, India and Europe.
