At the moment, there are three most popular video conferencing and other workplace collaboration tools Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet and all of them come with a group call participants limit of up to 100. The Software Giant Microsoft will increase this limit to 250 participants via an update to be rolled out in mid-May.The new plan to increase the participant limit has been spotted in the company’s roadmap section for Microsoft Teams. It says, “ Sometimes you need to kick off a big project chat with a large group or organize an ad-hoc discussion with staff at an event, but it is unnecessary to start a new team; perhaps you don’t all work together on a regular basis, or maybe you need a communication channel with a large group of people at an event. Group chats will be able to accommodate up to 250 users.”It is now confirmed that the new development is in the pipeline and all the paid subscribers will be eligible to get excess to this feature of expanding the capacity. The new capacity limit will be helpful to large companies with a bigger workforce. Whereas the unpaid subscriber can have access to only 20 people. The paid subscription brings other benefits such as scheduled meetings, to record meetings, phone calls, and audio conferencing. In addition to this, the paid subscribers will be offered up to 1TB of storage per person whereas the unpaid users can get access to 1GB of storage along with 10GB of shared storage per user. Whereas on the other hand with the increasing demand for video-conferencing tools the search giant Google has announced that now anyone can sign up for Meet with an email address to gain access to the same features available to G Suite’s business and education use. The company offers other benefits such as schedule meetings, screen sharing, real-time captions, and layouts with the expanded tiled view.Users can gain access to Google Meet for free through meet.google.com and via Meet mobile apps for Android and iOS users. The users will require a free Google Account which is a necessary step required as a security measure.According to the company, “Meetings are limited to 60 minutes for the free product, though we will not enforce this time limit until after September 30.”

In addition to this, MediaTek Helio G85’s connectivity enhancements deliver faster response times between the smartphone and cell tower for more reliable connectivity. Users can simply defer calls while gaming without the data connection dropping.

Later in December last year the American chipset manufacturer, Qualcomm announced two new processors with 5G support. The company launched Snapdragon 865 and the Snapdragon 765 at the Snapdragon Tech Summit in Hawaii. Now the company is preparing to launch the next processor in 2020, reports and rumours about it have started pouring in already. The 2020 flagship mobile processor Snapdragon 875 SoC. Reportedly the company will bring its next flagship chipset later this year.Qualcomm is expected to announce its next flagship chipset Snapdragon 875 later this year. According to a report by 91Mobiles, it is tipped to be the company’s first 5nm chipset with the new X60 5G modem-RF system. The Qualcomm’s chipset has been found with a codename SM8350. To recall, its predecessor was also spotted with the SM8250 codename. The flagship smartphone chipset is said to come to the high-end premium Android smartphones this year or maybe next year. Also the company’s existing generations of flagship chipset Snapdragon 865 won’t get an upgrade or there will not be any Snapdragon 865+ and the current-generation System on a Chip(SoC) will be succeeded by Snapdragon 875.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 also referred to internally as the SM8350 is expected to be manufactured by the same Taiwan based company TSMC. However, there is no word from the company about bringing its next generation of smartphone System on a Chip (SoC), the Snapdragon 875. The chipset is most likely to be based on the fresh developed 5nm Fabrication Node. It is said to come integrated with a 5G modem however until now the company has not yet decided the 5G standard for mobile communication and data transmission. The current flagship chipset Snapdragon 865 comes with a separate 5G modem called Snapdragon X55 5G. Considering the growing popularity of 5G enabled devices the company might get the 5G modem already embedded to the upcoming SoC and this might reduce the extra cost from the chipset with the removal of an extra piece of component inside the smartphone. So unlike its predecessor, the next chipset might come integrated with Snapdragon X60 modem. Whereas the company has officially confirmed its next-gen 5G modem which is expected to get ready by next year. ‘Besides this Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 is suggested to include a custom Kryo 685 CPU built on Arm v8 Cortex tech along with Adreno 660 GPU, and a Spectra 580 image-processing engine. Moreover, the report claims that it might get Adreno 665 VPU, Adreno 1095 DPU and is most likely to get 3 G/ 4G/ 5G modem –Millimeter wave (mmWave) and sub-6 GHz bands support. It might also involve other Snapdragon Sensors Core Technology, External 802.11ax, 2×2 MIMO, and Bluetooth Milan, Compute Hexagon DSP with Hexagon Vector eXtensions and Hexagon Tensor Accelerator. In addition to this, the chipset is said to support Quad-channel package-on-package (PoP) high-speed LPDDR5 SDRAM and Low-power audio subsystem combined with Aqstic Audio Technologies WCD9380 and WCD9385 audio codec.

With an aim to immerse students in creative and computational thinking along with building their skills in programming, Google India has now launched the seventh edition of the Code to Learn competition for students from Class 5th till Class 12th from any school with in the sub-continent.
In order to participate in Google’s Code to Learn competition 2020, registrations are now open and parents, teachers or legal guardians can register on behalf of the student via the competition website (g.co/codetolearn). Mind you! Moreover, students can also access the online resources available on the tech giant’s website to learn Scratch, AppInventor and Google Cloud AutoML to build games, animation, android apps and/or their own machine learning applications; without writing even a single line of code!
“In line with this objective, we have been running the Code to Learn competition successfully for school students in India for the last six years. The program has also been adopted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan,” as per a blog post by Divy Thakkar, Google’s Research and Education Program Manager, and Ashwani Sharma, Google’s Head of Research Operations and University Relations, India, AU/NZ and SEA.
Interestingly, the Cupertino-based tech giant has a special AI track for students of class 9th -12th wherein they use Google’s existing Machine Learning models to create projects with a problem statement and a data set of their choice. As per Google, “Students define a problem and select any open dataset or create their own (images or text) and train a pre-trained machine learning model to create their own Machine Learning application using Google Cloud AutoML.”
In 2019, Code to Learn competition saw an overwhelming participation of students from across India with powerful applications ranging from fun games to applications that help farmers with timely information. In the Artificial Intelligence theme, Google India revealed that it received “excellent projects where students defined and tried to solve various societal problems like early detection of breast cancer, predicting learning disabilities through images of handwriting and segregating recyclable plastic waste using Computer Vision models.”

In a country like India where the crime and sexual violence against women are on a rise the group of teenage boys has been booked by police for planning gange rape against minor girls. Facebook acquired WhatsApp and Instagram are again into controversy. A few months back in December last year eight students from Mumbai’s elite school were suspended due to their involvement in exchanging chats around raping their classmates. Now again a group of teenage boys have been found to be part of a chat group in Delhi. An Instagram page named Bois Locker Room has been exposed for exchanging horrific content as well as filthy comments as well as private pictures of girls on the profile. Another account with the same name was also exposed to another social media platform Twitter. This issue has caused a major outrage across the country over the safety of minor girls and women with bizarre rates of sexual violence.The Instagram group chat of boys under the age of 16 to 19 years of age was formed with 26 members. The platform amended to share obscene comments on the girl’s private pictures. The private conversations were even shared with the girls in a group. The group chat was exposed on May 2 by a user name Ashanaa Sharma who revealed that how the screenshots of the chats were shared by someone who was part of the platform to bring this disgusting matter to light that is spreading like wildfire. Then the members of the group are denying that they make such statements. All the boys who were found to be casually talking about raping girls and women are from the top-ranked schools of Delhi and now they have also deactivated their handles. Out of 26 boys, one member even posted an apology statement via Instagram stories. While boys created a new chat group named ‘Jai ka skirt skrt gang’ to discuss how to get out of this mess. In the meanwhile Delhi Commission of Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal issued notice to both Instagram as well as Delhi Police in the matter of Bois Locker Room for sharing objectionable pictures of minor girls and planning illegal acts sus as gang-raping. After this, the Police registered an FIR in the matter and a boy aged 15-year-old was also arrested under Section 66E of IT Act for Cyberbullying and all the other group members are being investigated at the same time. While Instagram said that it has removed all the objectionable content from its platform outraging the modesty of minor girls and women. Whereas the parent company Facebook’s spokesperson has also issued a statement in this regard saying, “We absolutely do not allow behaviour that promotes sexual violence or exploits anyone, especially women and young people, and have actioned content violating our Community Standards as we were made aware of it,” It further added “we take this issue very seriously. Ensuring our community can express themselves in a safe and respectful way is our top priority,”The DCW has given a warning to all the users being part of such boys groups being run on all the social media channels to immediately report it to the commission and recommends to unfollow such platforms. Stressing that as millions of users rely on WhatsApp to stay in touch with their friends and families every day, IFCN director Baybars Orsek said, “Since bad actors use every single platform to disseminate falsehoods, to mislead others during such troubling times, fact-checkers’ work is more important than ever.”
Mind you! Fact-checkers from 74 countries have identified more than 4,000 hoaxes related to the novel coronavirus since January this year. All of this information is compiled in the CoronaVirusFacts database, the backbone of the new WhatsApp chatbot and the largest collaboration of fact-checkers ever. This database is regularly updated by the IFCN so chatbot users can access its most relevant and recent content on their smartphones.

With an aim to provide its users the most immersive home theatre-like experience, LG Electronics has now announced pricing and availability of its 2020 soundbar line-up led by the award-winning premium LG SN11RG and SN9YG, recognised as CES 2020 Innovation Award winners for their enhanced sound quality and usability.
Featuring advanced audio performance, with Meridian sound technology, easy connectivity, smart functionality and sleek designs that integrate with the LG OLED and LG NanoCell 4K and 8K UHD TVs, the new soundbar line-up will be initially available in the United States through US retailers starting this month.
Mind you! The 2020 line-up, which is composed of eight models ranging from 380 to 770 watts, include five new premium models the SN11RG, SN10YG, SN9YG, SN8YG and SN7Y. These soundbars come equipped with Meridian sound technology, Dolby Atmos, DTS-X and 192KHz HiRes Audio for highly-realistic audio performance making any content-viewing or listening experience far more immersive. Moreover, these five premium models are fitted with up-firing speakers to deliver a 360-degree sound experience.
According to LG, “The flagship SN11RG even includes separate rear surround speakers with up-firing drivers to further enhance the experience.” Apart from this, the technology company stated that LG SN8YG, SN9YG, SN10YG & SN11RG housed advanced connectivity through eARC to provide easy connection, better sound quality and convenient control with the TV remote. With the Google Assistant built-in, these four models also offer the convenience of AI smart connectivity and voice recognition without the need for an extra device.
LG further claims that its collaboration with Meridian Audio drives the audio quality of these models to new heights using technologies that combine advanced signal processing and refined hardware design resulting in an expanded soundstage with greater height, width and depth. Additionally, these models also include 4K HDR pass through HDMI.
Looking at the other 2020 LG soundbar models in the line-up, the company said that they “offer a wide variety of sizes, power output, attractive design and great sound quality to fit the need for enhanced audio in any room or for any screen size.” In order to provide an easy and convenient way to add rear surround channels without the hassle of running wires to the back of the room, all 2020 LG soundbars are compatible with the optional SPK8 Wireless Rear Speaker Kit.
As far as price is concerned, the cost of LG SN11RG sound bar is $1,699 while the SN10YG costs $1,299. The three more soundbars in the premium category include the SN9YG with a price tag of $999, the SN8YG which comes for $799 and the SN7Y that’s available for $499. On the other hand, price of LG SN6Y sound bar is $399 while the costs of the SN5Y as well as SPK8-S are $279 and $179, respectively.

To obtain the privacy protection compliance certification, a company is required to build security capabilities based on the standards, meet all requirements and pass the review of third-party authorities.The certification includes various aspects of a design, development and maintenance services of the EMUI system and its application software, including more than 50 apps and features that involve sensitive data processing, such as software update, emergency location service, system application, user experience improvement plan and intelligent service provided by Huawei EMUI.For instance, the company will be collecting only relevant data from the device pertaining to its reliability, performance, power consumption and faults of features of user experience along with improvement plan. According to the company, the user’s personal data will be sent to Huawei only after users’ explicit consent is obtained. To anonymize collected sensitive personal data, Huawei uses the differential privacy technology to add random noises to the data. The company said, “Huawei takes cybersecurity and privacy protection as its top priority and integrates privacy protection into the entire process, from the very beginning of product design and throughout the entire software R&D process, and technology and personnel management. In order to offer a plug-and-play approach for the cloud radio network connection that will enhance efficiencies, India’s largest integrated telecommunications company Airtel along with Sercomm , a leading manufacturer and supplier of telecom equipment, have now announced the launch of world’s first vRAN-based TDD small cell.

The introduction of TDD small cells would enable us to further enhance our indoor network connectivity and delight our customers with a superior indoor experience. With Split Option 2 technology, the distributed unit (DU) utilizes various broadband links as a backhaul connecting to the cloud-based radio network. The small cell not only greatly improves operation reliability, but also facilitates a heterogeneous network. By adopting an open, distributed and split RAN (Radio Access Network) architecture, Aitel can efficiently upgrade from 4G to 5G path.

Last week the Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi announced that later this year the company will launch Mi Band 5 in the market and is being jointly developed by Huami. There has been a lot of rumours being churned out by rumour mills. Now the first alleged renders of the smart band have surfaced on the web and will come with upgraded features as well as with a bigger display than its predecessor Mi Band 4. After Facebook, Jio Platforms, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, has now announced that Silver Lake will pump in Rs 5,655.75 crore into Jio Platforms. This investment values Jio Platforms at an equity value of Rs 4.90 lakh crore and an enterprise value of Rs 5.15 lakh crore and represents a 12.5 percent premium to the equity valuation of the Facebook investment that was announced in April.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is reportedly working on its new smartphone. According to some reports, the company will soon launch a device under its sub-brand Redmi. The device will be called Redmi K30i and several rumours have been floating on the web for the past several days revealing the specifications of the upcoming Redmi smartphone. Recently the device was spotted on the Chinese regulatory website TENAA revealing some of the key details of the Xiaomi’s next. Now, the smartphone has been found inside the latest MIUI system code confirming the existence of the device.To expand its smartphone portfolio soon Xiaomi is going to launch a new device Redmi K30i. This is said to a toned-down variant of the Redmi K30 5G smartphone. As per a report by XDA Developers has been spotted in MIUI Camera app. A string of new characters related to Redmi k30i has been found inside the camera system code suggesting the camera details of the upcoming device. The device was spotted with a “Picasso” codename mentioning “back_picasso_48m.” This confirms that the smartphone will be backed by a 48-megapixel primary sensor instead of 64MP from the standard variant. Moreover, it revealed that the device will be featuring a quad rear camera set up. An internal document leaked earlier also revealed that the company is planning to bring an affordable 5G device. Furthermore, it revealed that the device was set to launch in late April with a price tag of 1,799 Yuan that translates to Rs 19,300.But some rumours suggest that Redmi K30i is likely to come with a price tag of RMB 1,000 that translates to Rs 10,700. If rumours are to be believed this would be cheapest 5G smartphone being offered at the cheapest pricing under its latest Redmi K30 series while retaining some of the features of its K30 series. As we mentioned above the device has also been spotted on the TENAA website with model number M2001G7AE. In terms of device, the device will look similar to Redmi K30 5G.As per the listing, the K30i will feature a 6.50-inch display and will be powered by Snapdragon 765G processor. It will be available in two variants 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB of onboard storage option. Additionally, it will pack a 4,400mAh battery and a 48-megapixel rear camera.

According to the company, it is a privacy protection standard jointly released by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The ISO/IEC 27701 standard is an excellent practice of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is recognized as the strictest privacy protection regulation in history. To obtain the privacy protection compliance certification, a company is required to build security capabilities based on the standards, meet all requirements and pass the review of third-party authorities.
The certification includes various aspects of a design, development and maintenance services of the EMUI system and its application software, including more than 50 apps and features that involve sensitive data processing, such as software update, emergency location service, system application, user experience improvement plan and intelligent service provided by Huawei EMUI.
For instance, the company will be collecting only relevant data from the device pertaining to its reliability, performance, power consumption and faults of features of user experience along with improvement plan. According to the company, the user’s personal data will be sent to Huawei only after users’ explicit consent is obtained. To anonymize collected sensitive personal data, Huawei uses the differential privacy technology to add random noises to the data.
The company said, “Huawei takes cybersecurity and privacy protection as its top priority and integrates privacy protection into the entire process, from the very beginning of product design and throughout the entire software R&D process, and technology and personnel management. Its user privacy protection has been certified by multiple authoritative organizations around the world, including ePrivacyseal GmbH, one of the most influential commercial entities conducting privacy certification in Europe. Huawei Device software has obtained the ISO/IEC 27701 certification, which proves that Huawei Device meets international privacy standards in terms of software design, R&D, and maintenance, as well as personnel management, safeguarding the security and privacy of consumers.”
