Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G: An excellent smartphone for binge-watching

The Redmi Note Series is a versatile smartphone lineup that fits into any pocket and is a strong mid-range contender. With the launch of the Redmi Note 11 Series in India earlier this month, Xiaomi has updated its portfolio. So far, Xiaomi’s sub-brand has released two variants: the Redmi Note 11 Pro, which is powered by a MediaTek chipset and supports 4G connectivity, and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, which is powered by a Snapdragon chipset and supports 5G connectivity. Except for connectivity and cameras, the specifications of both smartphones are nearly identical. For the time being, we’ll talk about the Note 11 Pro+ 5G, which has been our daily driver for quite some time. So here is our Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G review.

Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G review: Design and Display

First and foremost, let’s talk about the design. The design of the latest Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G differs from that of its predecessor. The construction and design appear to be more durable and modern than the previous generation. It has a flat design language with sharp edges, which is very similar to the Xiaomi 11i (review) that we previously reviewed. The back panel is also protected by Gorilla Glass, which we appreciate. Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G review: Design and Display When light reflects on the Mirage Blue variant, it creates a glossy wavy pattern that looks like water waves. Despite the glossy finish on the back, fingerprints and smudges are less noticeable, which is surprising. However, instead of the pattern’s glossy finish, we’d prefer to see a matte finish. Phantom White and Stealth Black, both with a simple matte finish, are two more colour options. Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G review: Design and Display The three rear cameras are arranged in a two-step design on the top left corner, with the 108MP primary sensor being more prominent and receiving its own space. A fingerprint sensor is embedded inside the power button on the right side of the frame, while the volume keys are located just above the power button. The 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, and stereo speakers are present on the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. The earpiece speaker grille, as well as a 3.5mm audio socket and an IR emitter, are all located on the top. On the bottom, you’ll find the primary speaker, USB Type-C port, and hybrid dual-SIM tray. Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G review: Design and Display Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G review: Design and Display The phone isn’t overly heavy, but it has just the right amount of weight. It’s also not very comfortable to grip or use single-handedly due to its flat, squarish design. The body, on the other hand, is splash-resistant, and the SIM tray has a rubber seal to keep moisture out. Its audio output is quite loud and adequate for listening to music and watching movies, and it has left a lasting impression on us. On the front of the phone is a 6.67-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness of up to 1,200 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is used to make the display. Because it supports 360Hz, the screen response rate is quite good. Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G review: Design and Display We immediately noticed how responsive the touch is here, which is something you’d only find on premium mid-rangers (By the way we loved playing Subway Surfer on this phone.) The fluidity has improved with the 120Hz refresh rate, and we haven’t experienced any stutter or jitters during our testing. As a result, scrolling through the UI is much more fluid. On this device, we had a lot of fun watching movies and Netflix and Prime series. The videos showcased vivid colours and deep blacks, and the content is bright and readable even in direct sunlight. The automatic brightness adjustment, on the other hand, is a little slower, but that’s not a deal-breaker for us.

Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G: Performance and Cameras

Now we’ll move on to the performance aspect of things. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC in the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G is octa-core. The processor is adequate for everyday use and responds quickly when you launch an application. We also didn’t notice any lags, which is a good thing considering the price. The device is HDR 10 certified, but when you try to play any HDR content on Netflix, you’ll only get an HD option, and YouTube video playback is limited to 1080p. In fact, the device is unable to play videos in 4K resolution. As a result, HDR is not supported by the processor. Now that that’s done, let’s take a look at the gaming performance. We used smooth graphics and a high frame rate to play BGMI. It can also be played in high-definition graphics with a high frame rate. When we switched to the smooth ultra settings, we didn’t notice any lags or stutters, but when we switched to the HD and high settings, we noticed glitches and lags.  At the time of testing, no heating issues were discovered. However, given the price, the gaming experience falls short of what we would expect from a low-cost smartphone in the 10k to 15k range. When it comes to software, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G runs on Android 11 with the MIUI 13 overlay on top, which is unfortunate because many phones nowadays come with Android 12 out of the box. Xiaomi also provides two years of Android updates, which means this device can only receive updates up to Android 13. But the best part is that when compared to other brands, MIUI 13 is much more optimised. review of Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G Before we get to the optics, take a look at the camera specifications. A 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera make up the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G’s triple rear camera setup. A 16-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.45 lens is included in the device. review of Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G Surprisingly, this 5G variant does not include the 2-megapixel depth sensor found on the 4G Redmi Note 11 Pro. Last year’s Redmi Note series camera performance left us unsatisfied, but this year’s model has some improvements over its predecessor. The colour optimisation is flawless, the images do not appear oversaturated, and the contrast is also flawless. Under good lighting conditions, the 108-megapixel primary sensor, as well as the selfie camera, produce some good images. When compared to other smartphone images, however, the photos taken with this phone lacked detail, which could be due to slower processing or other factors.
review of Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G
Macro shots
The low-light images are adequate but not spectacular. However, it improves when photos are taken in night mode, but you must keep your hands steady for 4 to 5 seconds. Also, the 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens will not produce sharp or detailed images. Last but not least, the 2-megapixel macro sensor is useless. The macro lens can record videos up to 720p in terms of videography. The bad news is that you can only record videos at a resolution of up to 1080p @30fps, which is the same as a 10K smartphone. The front camera is adequate but not exceptional. The portraits are also acceptable to us.
Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G review in India
Wide angle
Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G review in India
Ultra-Wide
A 5,000mAh battery powers the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. The best part is that a 67W charger is included in the box. The device is said to take about 40 minutes to charge fully. In our tests, the phone takes about 45 minutes to charge fully. However, this device’s battery life is exceptional. Under heavy usage, we were able to get 5 hours of screen time, which included gaming, videography, video watching, video calling, and scrolling through our social media accounts. So, if you’re a light user, the battery should last you more than a day.

Verdict

Xiaomi clearly has a superior design, display, and charging speed. If you want a smartphone that is focused on photography, you can look at many of the company’s other models, but not this one. If you’re looking for a day to day phone, this is a very good option.  For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on TwitterFacebook and Instagram. For newest tech & gadget videos subscribe to our YouTube Channel. What is cryptocurrency and how does it work? Can You Make Or Lose Money, And When To Cash Out?

Cryptocurrency, the hottest topic of the decade, takes the mind for a spin, doesn’t it? Sitting at home, one keeps hearing people making and losing fortunes through Bitcoins, Dogecoins and Ethereum. We’re sure this question might have arisen at some point in each one of your minds whether you can actually make or lose money through cryptocurrency. And if yes, then what are the ways through which we can gain profits. The most important question that arises is when should one cash out their cryptocurrency investment in order to benefit the maximum from one’s portfolio. But don’t you worry at all, since we are here to demystify cryptocurrency for you and answer all your queries.

How To Make Or Lose Money Through Cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency can be thought of as digital currency. If you’re thinking of making profits via cryptocurrency, then you can consider it to be similar to stocks. Just like the way you can gain capital within stock markets through either investing in or trading stocks, the same way you can make or lose money through cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency Investing And Trading

However, the first thing that is very crucial to understand in this sphere is that as compared to the stock market, the cryptocurrency market, for example, Bitcoin, has tremendous volatility. This is why if you take one right step, it can result in you making fortunes of profit, but one wrong step has also the potential to push you into a deep pit of loss.  However, this can still be considered as an advantage by the Bitcoin traders, if they carefully make an investment and then quickly jump out before the Bitcoin trend turns, and thus book profits. You then can convert your profits into cash through an exchange or a broker. It is sort of like day trading in stocks, but the difference is that crypto often makes double-digit percentage movements within a single day itself, which makes it ideal for traders. Cryptocurrency Mining

Apart from investing in and trading cryptocurrency, it can also be mined. Unlike the current paper-based currency system that is centralised with the banks being at its heart, the system of cryptocurrency is decentralised. Every cryptocurrency transaction is digitally recorded in what is known as a ‘Ledger’, which is protected by blockchain structural technology.  In Bitcoin mining, you basically produce additional Bitcoins by solving complex algorithms to unlock blockchain ledger transactions. When you unlock these blockchain ledger transactions, you are paid in Bitcoins, for which the current rate is 6.25 Bitcoins. This number reportedly halves every four years.  However, it is important to keep in mind that for successfully mining Bitcoins, massive computer server farms and enormous amounts of electricity are used, which may not be ideal for everyone. With that being said, there are over a million Bitcoin miners in the world.  Cryptocurrency Demystified: Can You Make Or Lose Money, And When To Cash Out? When To Cash Out?

One of the most critical questions, however, remains unanswered. And there is no easy answer to it. While some might suggest that encashing your cryptocurrency can be more favourable when the values of most of the major cryptocurrencies are at their peak. However, there is no sure way to tell as there is no fool-proof plan for it. One might have to research at their own level in order to make an informed investment decision, since slipping into a loss otherwise becomes very easy, making you lose your valuable money. It is also recommended to study the trajectories of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin as well as their historical price movements, especially during their halving cycles.  For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Latest Whatsapp Update 2022: Restriction on forwarded message on WhatsApp

WhatsApp, a super popular instant messaging software for your mobile, is constantly introducing new features and improving the infrastructure to make it more effective and secure for its users. In a new WhatsApp Update, Message forwarding on the app is now subject to a new limitation imposed by the corporation. Users on Android and iOS will be unable to send a message to several groups. The latest change on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS was discovered by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo. The outlet also published screenshots of the feature, which show a warning that shows when users try to forward a message to numerous group chats. Read also: WhatsApp starts limiting forward messages to 5 chats globally WABetaInfo discovered the limit in WhatsApp Beta version 2.22.7.2 for Android last month. It appears that the Meta-owned social networking platform is now testing it on beta versions of the iOS app.

WhatsApp beta versions 2.22.7.2 for Android and 22.7.0.76 for iOS have the new feature. According to the screenshots provided by WABetaInfo, after a message has been labelled as forwarded, it can no longer be forwarded to more than one group. If a user attempts to forward a message that has already been forwarded to another group, an alert will appear stating, “Forwarded messages can only be sent to one group chat.” If you still need to forward the message to another group, you will have to do so manually for each individual group. WABetaInfo points out that the new restriction takes effect even if the messages are simply forwarded once. Users on Android and iOS can currently forward messages to up to five recipients at once. Also Read: WhatsApp is said to be working on password-protected encrypted For the lesser-known, in 2018, WhatsApp reduced the number of people to whom a user could transmit a message to just five. This effort started in India and was rolled out globally in January 2019. This comes just a few days after WhatsApp’s Android version was updated with additional voice messaging features. The six new features added to WhatsApp voice notes are draught preview, the ability to pause/resume the message, and out of chat playback, which is another name for the global voice note player. WhatsApp is also introducing resume playback for voice notes and waveform visualisations. The new WhatsApp update might just roll out on both Android and iOS in the coming weeks. Will it be a good way to curb misinformation on WhatsApp? Well, only time will tell. In countries other than India, the S22 Ultra is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, but in the United States, it is equipped with an Exynos 2200 processor. The OnePlus phone, on the other hand, is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which is more efficient, but Samsung’s handset has more storage options than its competitor. The S22 Ultra’s 108MP primary sensor clearly outperforms the OnePlus 10 Pro’s 48MP main sensor. However, we would like to point out that higher resolution does not always imply better images. OnePlus, on the other hand, has a 50MP ultrawide angle sensor as well as an 8MP telephoto sensor. Samsung, on the other hand, has a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens. Both are IP68 certified and are water and dust resistant. Both devices are missing the headphone jack and the microSD card slot. The OnePlus phone has a signature alert slider, whereas the Galaxy has an S Pen. Both of these smartphones have 5,000mAh batteries and will last longer. However, when it comes to charging, the OnePlus takes the lead because it comes with a charger, which the Galaxy does not. Both of these phones come with Android 12 pre-installed, but OnePlus’ OxygenOS offers a close to stock Android experience. In our opinion, the OnePlus 10 Pro is a promising Android smartphone that can compete with most flagships. It’s also worth considering because the device has top-of-the-line specifications for the price. As a result, it’s a tie between both handsets. You can select any of them based on your preferences and pricing considerations. Please let us know which one you prefer in the comments section. WhatsApp’s Restrictions on Forwarded Messages Are Getting Tougher: Report

WhatsApp is constantly working on new features to enhance the user experience on its platform. Recently, the instant messaging app was seen experimenting with new features allowing users to get rid of WhatsApp’s forwarded messages. The corporation is now claimed to be working on eliminating the hassle of forwarded messages in group chats in order to prevent users from spreading false information. If you’re interested in learning more about how this new feature will work, continue reading. On WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, new restrictions are now available when forwarding forwarded messages to other group chats. It appears to be aimed at preventing users from forwarding messages to more than one group chat at a time.  Previously, the Meta-owned messaging app had a limit of five individual chats for sharing forwarded messages. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp users will be allowed to only forward one message to one group chat at a time with this update. A screenshot has also been shared which shows forwarding forwarded messages to more than one group chat at a time is no longer possible, which is another way to reduce spam and misinformation. This means if you forward a message to a group chat, you can’t send it to other chats at the same time.  If you want to forward this message to more than one group chat, you’ll have to select it separately for each one. The new rules for forwarding messages only apply to messages that have already been forwarded. If you consider sending messages to even more than one chat at the same time a message will appear from WhatsApp stating that the forwarded message can be sent multiple times in the same group chat. According to the report, the new restriction has already been rolled out to a select group of Android beta testers, but WhatsApp is now making the same restriction available to all users who download the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.11 update, and more people will be affected in the coming weeks. Google released new fact-checking tools to News and Search to combat the spread of misinformation

Google has announced changes to Search and News in order to help people spot misinformation online and to support the fact-checking ecosystem in the long run. It will provide users with simple tools for fact-checking information and sources. The search giant will provide information and tips on how to use the online fact-checking tools, as well as how to check whether a source is trustworthy on a topic. Determining which information is reliable and how to deal with this situation can be difficult. On the occasion of International Fact-Checking Day on April 2, Google is releasing new features with the goal of providing accurate information and emphasising the importance of fact-checking in today’s complex information environment. It’s helpful to have easy-to-use tools to check sources, get valuable context, and evaluate information to do this efficiently. Here are four ways to use Google to assist you: According to Google When news breaks or a new topic becomes popular, the information you’re looking for may not be widely available yet. In these cases, Search will display a notice on your search results informing you that it may take time for a variety of sources to publish information on a topic. Currently, these notices are available in more than 20 languages all over the world. These notices will include tips to help you evaluate information online on searches in English in the United States. One can also visit the new resource page, which includes pointers based on research from information literacy experts to help you navigate the information you find online. Here you’ll find handy reminders for when you come across new information, such as searching for the author of a piece of content to assess their credibility or double-checking the publication date to ensure it’s still current. Google has also introduced a new feature that will help you find stories that have been frequently cited by other news outlets, making it easy to find the most useful or relevant information for a news story. Therefore allows you to see the original story, which had a special meaning. Top Stories will feature this label. You can find it on anything from an investigative article to an interview, an announcement, a press release, or a local news story, as long as other publishers link to it. The well-known label will launch on mobile in English in the United States soon, followed by a global rollout in the coming weeks. Another way to quickly find information that has been verified by independent fact-checking organisations is to use Google’s fact-checking features. You may see fact-check articles in your search results if you search for a topic that is debatable. These results show snippets to help you understand the context of a claim. Furthermore, when using Google News on a desktop, you can see recently fact-checked claims from independent publishers in your area when they are related to the top stories of the day. Google’s Fact Check Explorer allows you to look up information on a variety of topics and lets you double-check the facts on a topic or story you heard about. The About this Result has already been added to Google Search. This tool can be utilised to find out more about the website that originally published the story. To do so click the “more about this page” link when you tap the three dots on any search result to:
  • Learn about the source to get a sense of how they describe themselves.
  • To get a second opinion on a website, look at what others have said about it on the internet.
  • Learn more about the topic, such as recent news coverage, to see what a variety of sources have to say.
  • These features will be available for all English-language searches around the world in the near future.

Our Take

Both phones have a new design, but the OnePlus smartphone’s camera setup is more prominent, adding premiumness to its form factor. Apple uses a notch for the selfie camera, while OnePlus uses a punch-hole cutout to make the screen look more appealing and less intrusive. The screens on both devices are roughly the same size, so don’t be fooled by the fact that Apple uses an XDR display while the OnePlus phone uses an LTPO display. Both displays are OLED screens; the only difference is the branding. Despite being thicker, the OnePlus 10 Pro is lighter than the iPhone 13 due to the OnePlus’ use of aluminium rather than Apple’s use of stainless steel. Apple uses a 12MP sensor for both its wide and ultra-wide lenses, as well as a LiDAR sensor on the back for better focusing and handling extreme low light photography. OnePlus, on the other hand, offers Hasselblad-branded high-resolution camera sensors that provide computational photography benefits similar to those offered by Apple. On the front, OnePlus has a 32MP selfie camera, while Apple has a 12MP selfie camera. On the hardware side, the OnePlus 10 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. While the iPhone 13 has its own A15 Bionic chipset, both devices are capable of handling high-end gaming and other tasks. In terms of battery life, the OnePlus 10 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery, while the iPhone 13 has a 3,240mAh battery. However, you will spend a significant amount of time on both devices. Furthermore, the OnePlus’ phone is significantly less expensive than Apple’s iPhone 13. So, if you’re thinking about upgrading your Android phone, the OnePlus 10 Pro is the way to go.
