iBall mSLR Cobalt4 smartphone with interchangeable lens launched at Rs 8,499

The Indian smartphone manufacturer iBall has expanded its Cobalt series with the launch of mSLR Cobalt4. The company has priced the device for Rs 8,499 and offers lens mount and four lenses with it. The four lenses include a zoom lens with 8x zoom, a fisheye lens with a 175-180 degree viewing angle, a macro lens with 10x magnification and minimum object distance of 10-15mm, and a wide-angle lens with a 130-degree viewing angle. The firm will also be offering a free pouch and a cleaning cloth with the smartphone.

Speaking about the device, Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director, iBall said, “We are very excited with our newest launch which revolutionizes and redefines smartphones. With mSLR Cobalt4 the users shall be mesmerized on the Smartphone’s Camera with detachable lenses. The Multiple options of the lens shall snap great pictures and change the way photographs are captured on the smart phones! Talking about the specifications, the iBall mSLR Cobalt4 flaunts a 5-inch qHD display with 960×540 pixels resolution. The dual SIM smartphone runs on Adnroid 4.4 KitKat operating system. Powering the smartphone is a 1.4 GHz octa-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The internal storage of the device accounts to 8GB which can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD card.

The iBall mSLR Cobalt4 comes equipped with an 8.0-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 3.2-megapixel front facing camera for clicking selfies. The device packs in a 2,000 mAh battery and offers 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.

Google slides updated gets Chromecast support

The search engine giant Google has updated the Slides with Chromecast HDMI dongle support. The update will enable the users to wirelessly stream presentations to the bif screen.

In order to use this feature the users just need to open up a presentation in Google Slides and go near to the Chromecast device and just simply hit the cast button. The smartphone or tablet of the user will act as a remote control at the time of streaming the content. It will let the users to advance the slides, view speaker notes and stay on track with the built in timer.

The iOS users will aslo be able to use the Chromecast for presentations as its app for iPhone and iPad supports AirPlay. Google rolled out a material design update to Google Slides last year.

The domestic smartphone manufacturer Micromax has expanded its Canavs series with the addition of Canvas Hue 2. The company has not yet made any official statement about the device but it is available online with a price tag of Rs 11,736. As per the Mumbai based retailer Mahesh Telecom the device flaunts an aluminum body and comes in Black colour.

Talking about the specifications, the Micromax Canvas Hue 2 flaunts a 5 5-inch AMOLED display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. The device offers dual SIM functionality and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The smartphone is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The internal storage of the device accounts to 16GB which can be expanded using microSD card.

Indian tourist spots to get Wi-Fi hostpots soon, courtesy BSNL

Next time you visit Taj Mahal or the Qutub Minar, just check if you get access to free Wi-Fi over there. Yes, as per recent reports, the Bharat Sanchal Nagar Limited (BSNL) is investing Rs 7,000 crore for setting up Wi-Fi hotspots at different tourist spots across the country, and Taj Mahal and Qutub Minar could be among them.

Anupam Shrivasatva, Chairman and managing director of BSNL revealed this while speaking at one of the events and told reporters that Wi-Fi is an obvious choice for BSNL going forward.

So, how would BSNL be going forward with the implementation? The government  organisation would take help from its recently added partner in the project, QuadGen Wireless. Together, they will integrate 3G, 4G networks so that customer can be seamlessly transferred to Wi-Fi.

The idea is to get 2,500 Wi-Fi hotspots up and running by end of this financial year.

The smartphone comes with 4G support and will be exclusively available through Amazon at a price tag of Rs 4,999. The customers can purchase the device from the online retailer from 16 June, 2015.

Wammy Note 4: A phone with 3GB RAM announced in India

Facebook Messenger app crosses 1billion downloads on Android

The social networking giant Facebook has revealed that its Messenger app for Android has crossed 1 billion downloads. The VP, product Messaging David Marcus has shared a screen shot of the same on Facebook.

The number of downloads registered in the Google Play store have crossed the 1 billion mark. It took a complete year for the app to cross this milestone, last year during the same time it had 500 million downloads. The Facebook Messenger is the third app of the company to achieve 1 billion downloads.

Of late Facebook is also focusing a lot on its Messenger app. The social networking giant has introduced new features like video calling, location sharing via messages and information about the first time message senders. These updates are introduced in order to enhance the user experience.

Videocon Mobiles has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of Infinium Z51 Nova smartphone. The smartphone comes with dual SIM capability and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The smartphones features a 5-inch display with 854×480 pixels resolution.

Powering the device is a 1.2 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The inbuilt storage of the device accounts to 8GB which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. The Infinium Z51 Nova sports a 5.0-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2.0-megapixel secondary camera. Twitter rolls out new feature, makes conversation follow-up easy

The micro blogging site Twitter is all set to smoothen out the process of conversation for the users. Twitter has now rolled out certain changes in the format of how the conversations will be displayed on the Twitter page for easy follow up.

 

Talking about the change, in its official blog Akarshan Kumar, Product Manager, Twitter stated, “On the Tweet page, Tweets that are part of a conversation are connected by a line. If you want to see more of the replies to a specific Tweet within a conversation you can click ‘View other replies’,”.

 

So, this means that a conversation surrounding a tweet will be grouped together by line, highlighting the tweets and replies. One will also be able to view the full conversation by simply clicking on a “View other replies” option in order to expand the complete conversation.

 

This new update from Twitter will be made available for the web first the n followed by mobile devices.
