Marvel’s Avengers Endgame might have ended leaving a big crater in the cinematic universe. With the movie series, we saw some of the original cast member saying goodbye to the Marvel universe. After the conclusion of Avengers Endgame, Russo Brothers said that they didn’t had any plans for future Marvel movies. But that doesn’t mean that Marvel won’t be bringing other movies exploring and expanding its own cinematic universe. There are currently multiple movies lined up to be released (although they aren’t directed by Russo brothers) like Spiderman: Far From Home, GOTG 3, etc. But other than movies, Marvel also promised us some new TV series which are up in line to be released in the future, and one of the TV-series is Loki. The Loki TV-series explores the life of the God of Mischief and it will be played by Tom Hiddleston.
According to the recent developments, the Loki mini-series will make its debut on Disney+ in 2020-2021. Before its release, some new details of the mini-series have surfaced online from Disney’s April investor meeting. The meeting involved all the big names of Disney – Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, National Geographic and Disney itself.
The Loki mini-series might be releasing sometimes in 2020 or 2021 on Disney+ online streaming service. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige talked what they will bringing to Disney+ and some of them will be exclusive premieres for all the future Marvel films. He also said that the upcoming Loki mini-series will be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Loki mini series’ first look is slightly blurry but it shows that Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will be travelling through time (using the Time Stone maybe). The image reveals Jaws on the billboard along with vintage cars on the road, so there is a possibility that the miniseries will be happening somewhere in the mid-1970s. It should be noted that this timeline is unexplored in the Marvel Universe and we might see some new things in it. Earlier in Avengers Endgame, we saw that the lead Ironman and Captain America went back in time in 1970 to retrieve the Tesseract or Space Stone along with Pym Particles and then Loki getting his hands on the Tesseract.
It should be noted that Disney+ miniseries Loki won’t be coming out till next year so till then we might get a lot of information and leaks. Other than Loki, Marvel has plans for other characters which it is putting in TV-series to further extend their stories and the MCU itself. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is also in development and will be coming in 2019-2020 while WandaVision will be releasing in 2020-2021.
Chinese smartphone brand Honor has today launched its Honor 20 Pro and Honor 20 smartphones in India. The two handsets were launched globally last month. Honor 20 Pro is priced at Rs 39,999 for its lone 8GB RAM variant in India. The device can be bought in Phantom Black and Phantom Blue colours. On the other hand, Honor 20 is available for Rs 32,999. The smartphone is available in Icelandic White, Midnight Black, and Sapphire Blue colours. The smartphones would exclusively be available on Flipkart “soon”.

The Honor 20 Pro runs Android 9.0 Pie with Magic UI 2.1.0 on top. The smartphone features a 6.26-inch full-HD+ display that has a screen to body ratio of 91.7%. The handset is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 980 SoC paired with GPU Turbo 3.0. Honor 20 Pro comes with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. For imaging duties, Honor 20 Pro has a quad camera setup that has a 48MP Sony IMX 586 primary sensor with an f/1.4 aperture, a 16MP super wide angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP telephoto sensor with an f/2.4 lens and a 2MP macro lens with an f/2.4 lens. However, the key highlight of the device is that its camera comes with 30x zoom capabilities. The smartphone also has a 32MP selfie camera with 3D portrait lightning.
Honnor 20 Pro smartphone houses a 4,000mAh battery that comes with support for 22.5W Honor Super Charge. For connectivity, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, and USB 2.0 are present on the handset.

A number of specifications of the Honor 20 are the same as its elder sibling’s. The smartphone features a 6.26-inch full-HD+ all-view display that comes with a punch-hole design. The device is powered by the same processor as Honor 20 Pro, and packs 6GB of RAM.

Cupertino-based technology giant Apple has unveiled a new summer collection of Beats Solo3 variants. However, if you recently bought the new Beats Solo3, you don’t have to worry about your headphones being classified as ‘old’ already. Apple has only unveiled new colour variants of the same product, and they don’t come with new technology or internals. The new colour options of Beats Solo3 headphones include Red and Yellow. Besides this, White and Navy Blue options have also been made available for those who like to keep things more subtle.
Apple is calling these new colour variants like the ‘Club Collection’ and just as the company says, the designs and bold, vivid and definitely stand out from the crowd. However, we should mention that the Cupertino-based technology giant has not given a reason for launching new colour variants of headphones that are as old as three years.
We should mention that even after all this time, Beats Solo3 still happens to be an excellent pick for anyone who is looking for a pair of on-ear headphones. They have long battery life and can deliver very smooth performance when they are paired with other devices from Apple. But then, we can’t really rule out the fact that they are an ageing pair of headphones at the end of the day. Apple can definitely plan an upgrade that has a better wireless audio chip inside them. The company should plan this soon because a number of competitors like Sony have already launched better alternatives in their range.
Another thing worth pointing out is that the noise-cancelling headphones from Apple have also fallen in terms of pricing because they are not the most updated product around. If you are interested in buying one among the four new colour variants of Apple Beats Solo3 headphones, they will be available starting June 12 in retail stores and Apple’s online store. The new colour variants cost $199.95.
The company recently also launched its Beats Powerbeats Pro true wireless earbuds that are priced at $249.95. The earbuds support Class 1 Bluetooth connectivity and are claimed to provide better sound quality and superior noise isolation than AirPods. The Beats Powerbeats Pro are powered by Apple’s H1 chip and they come with support for Siri. So, users can activate the digital assistant by saying ‘Hey Siri’ and can control it using voice commands. The Siri support was earlier seen in the AirPods 2.

Now, the e-commerce platform’s Amazon Apple Days Sale has gone live too and it will go on till June 14, 2019. This is the June edition of the Amazon Apple Days Sale and in this five-day sale the platform will be offing Rs 23,000 off of some of the iPhone models. Other than that, it will also be giving up to Rs 30,000 off on MacBook models. It has also been revealed by the company that the handset will come with a 32MP primary sensor and that it comes with a Screen Sound technology, which means that its display will be able to generate audio vibrations. Amazon Echo Show design
The second generation of the Amazon Echo Show has an impressive design. While it may look like a digital photo frame from a distance, when you get close enough, you will see that it has a very broad rubber base so that the smart speaker stands steadily. The smart speaker by Amazon sports a 10.1-inch HD (1,280×800 pixels) touchscreen display, which dominates the entire body of the device.
There is a plastic wrap that outlines the display and the back, and the sides of the device with speakers are wrapped in fabric. The passive radiator is also present on the Amazon smart speaker. The new offering by Amazon is available in two colour variants – Black and White. The one that we got for review was dressed in Black.
Looking at the back of the device, you will see that a power port and a MicroUSB port are also present on it. A good thing is that the machine comes with a long cable, which means that you don’t have to be too picky about where to place it.
On top of the screen, there is a 5MP camera and four microphones. While the microphones can be used to give commands to Alexa and make voice calls, the camera comes in handy when making video calls. The top edge of the Amazon Echo Show houses three buttons. Among these, two can be used to control the volume and one turns off the microphones and camera. This is a great feature for people who value privacy.
Speaking of the internals of the device, Amazon Echo Show is powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor. It comes with Bluetooth connectivity, so you can also connect the device with your smartphone and use it as a Bluetooth speaker. We should also mention that if you have smart appliances in your house, you would be able to use the smart speaker as a smart home hub. However, the smart appliances must come with Zigbee home automation standard to be connected to the Amazon Echo Show.
To sum it up, we would say that we really liked the design of the Amazon Echo Show. Whether you place it in your living room or bedroom, the smart speaker would look great and prove to be useful at the same time.
Amazon Echo Show features and performance
Before we start talking about the performance of the Amazon Echo Show smart speaker, we’ll tell you about its features so that you know what all you can do with it. Firstly, you would require to set up the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone, which is available on Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. The app can be used to add new skills, create routines and also to integrate other Amazon devices with the smart speaker including the likes of Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Most of the features would require you to give spoken instructions to Alexa. One thing that we really liked about the Amazon Echo Show is that it adds a visual element to its screen whenever you ask Alexa a question and the digital assistant replies. While this feature was also present in Amazon Echo Spot, the big-screen of the Echo Show obviously makes it look better.
You can try a number of voice commands on the Amazon Echo Show. If you are unsure about what you can ask Alexa to do and what it cannot help you with, just say, “Alexa what all can you do?” The digital assistant will then show you an entire list of commands that you can say to make it perform various functions.
You can watch movies and videos from Amazon Prime Video on the device too. You can use voice commands to order Alexa to play a particular show, movie or even an episode of your choice. If you are used to watching videos and shows from the service on TV, you may not enjoy the experience too much on this screen. However, others may like it as the display offers a good viewing experience.
Another thing that Amazon Echo Show can do is let users browse the internet. Although it only has support for Silk and Firefox browsers, we felt that it is a good additional facility to have on the smart device.
Even when you just leave it idle, the device shows you information that is related to various trending topics and this changes every single day. If you feel interested in any of these, you can ask Alexa to tell you more about them.
As we mentioned earlier, the Amazon Echo Show can also be used to control other smart home devices. A number of devices from the likes of Philips, Syska and Xiaomi are supported.
Now, let’s talk about how Amazon Echo Show performed in these functions. Most of our experience with the device was good. We found it very easy to setup the device using our Amazon account and Alexa app. Connecting other devices to the Echo Show smart speaker was also a seamless process. You can place the device anywhere from your office table top to your living room or even your own room. With the number of functions it has, it will prove to be useful everywhere.
You can start your day by dismissing an alarm on Alexa, and then you can get your news from it and ask it how much time will it take to reach your work place. If you have the smart speaker with you at work, you can waste less time looking up for things on the web and ask Alexa to do that for you instead. In your leisure time, you can ask Amazon Echo Show to display videos, play quizzes (even in Hindi), or get it to read you an audiobook. There is so much that the device can do, and most of the times it does it well.
We watched a lot of videos on the Amazon Echo Show, and we found its audio quality as well as the viewing experience on the display to be good. Even at really high volumes, the smart speaker did a good job with the audio output without cracking. However, some may complain about the HD resolution of the device since it is on the expensive side.
Alexa helped us with most of the things we asked it to do. However, there were times when it encountered problems while stopping one task to start the other. So suppose the speaker was playing videos and we asked it to do something completely different, at times, it did not follow the command or had a delayed response. We recommend just using the quick settings on the top bar to do certain things like going back to the Home screen between various tasks.
Since the display of the device is big in size, we found it to not only be good for watching videos, but also for reading text when the smart speaker was placed at a distance.
One thing that we could not test during our time with the device was its ability to work with other smart home appliances, which the company claims it can do brilliantly.
Verdict
At Rs 22,999, Amazon Echo Show is not a device that caters to the needs of people, but to wants. While it manages to work well, most of its functions can be found in a smartphone. If you want to listen to loud music, you may just buy a Bluetooth speaker instead. Or, if you want to watch content on a screen bigger than a smartphone, most people can just opt for watching it using their TVs, tablets or laptops. The Alexa features are really cool, but there will be few who would not want to spend that much for it.
On the upside, if you buy it, it is a device that can be used for a number of different uses that we have talked about in the review. If you purchase it, you will find it to be very useful, but then as we mentioned earlier, you will also find most of these functions in other gadgets. The question here is only about whether you think having them together in a single device with Alexa thrown in is worth the price or not. We somehow think it is.

Samsung’s next smartphone is going to be the Galaxy M40 and it is scheduled to launched today in India. But prior to its official launch, the company has brought a teaser video with Bollywood actress Disha Patani in it. The teaser confirms that the Samsung Galaxy M40 will have 6GB RAM and will also be powered by Snapdragon 675 SoC. The South Korean tech giant has signed Patani as the brand ambassador of the Samsung Galaxy M-series in India. Moreover, a listing has been spotted on Google’s Android Enterprise Solutions Directory which reveals several key specifications of the upcoming Galaxy M40. According to the listing, the Samsung Galaxy M40 will reportedly come with a dedicated Bixby button.
The teaser video was posted on Patani’s official Instagram account. According to the teaser, the Samsung Galaxy M40 will pack 6GB of RAM and the actress specifies that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 675 SoC.
Earlier, the company revealed that the upcoming smartphone will be priced around Rs 20,000 making it compete with Samsung’s own Galaxy A50. Other than that, the company also revealed that the Samsung Galaxy M40 will come with ‘Screen Sound’ feature. It means that it will produce sound through vibrations and it won’t be having a traditional earpiece. According to the teaser image revealed by the company on its official website, the Samsung Galaxy M40 will pack a punch-hole camera cut-out and it will have a triple-rear camera display.
Coming to the specifications from the Google’s Android Enterprise Solutions Directory, we see that it has been listed under the name “Samsung 400,000”. Although the name on the listing is far from its official name but its render image is similar to the Samsung Galaxy M40. According to the listing, the Samsung Galaxy M40 will come with a dedicated Bixby button which just confirms the previous leaks.
Other than that, the listing also reveals that the Samsung Galaxy M40 will reportedly sport a 6.3-inch display and will pack 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The listing was spotted by MySmartPrice and it further reveals that the device will reportedly be running Android 9 Pie and will have NFC as well.
Since the latter specs are based on leaks so it should be taken with a pinch of salt. But since the Galaxy M40 will be launching today, it will be seen whether the listings specifications are true or not. The launch event will take place on June 11 at 6pm IST.

Everyone who loves getting directions to various destinations from their smartphones must have tried Waze at some point in their lives. Besides Google Maps, it is another app that is owned by Google that helps people navigate their way but it gained popularity because it lets people report traffic and cops. This was the feature that made it stand out and get scores of people around the world started using it. Eventually, Google stopped competing with it and acquired it in 2013. As of now, the feature is only available for users in the United States and that too in English. We should mention that Waze-specific commands may not work for Android Auto.
The key differentiator is that Google has touted that you can make your traffic reports with your voice instead of tapping buttons on the display. You can simply give Google a command that says, “Hey Google, report traffic.”

HMD Global has started rolling out a new Android 9 Pie update with May 2019 Security Patch to its Nokia 3.2 users in India. The update comes in the with built version V1.08D. The update changelog reveals improved system stability, user interface enhancements, a new white balance option in the Display Settings and the May 2019 patch of Android security update.
Much like the feature on Nokia 4.2, the Nokia 3.2 has got a new White Balance Option with the update to adjust the warmth of the display from cool to warm depending upon the color saturation. The software update comes with the version of 1.22E, and is around 439.7MB in size. According to the reports, soon the Indian users will receive a notification of the update. You can manually check out the availability of the latest update on your Nokia 3.2 by going to Settings> System update. When your phone notifies you that an update is available, just follow the instructions shown on your phone to install it. The update for Nokia 4.2 is also rolling over the air.
To recall, the Nokia 3.2 was launched last month at a starting price for Rs 8,990. The smartphone features a 6.26-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720X 1520 pixels. Right now, it is available at a starting price of Rs, 10,790.
Recently HMD Global launched its Nokia 2.2 smartphone in India. The smartphone is being sold in India at Rs 6,999 till June 30 as an introductory offer. After which the revised price will be Rs 7,699 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The smartphone features a 5.17-inch HD+ edge to edge display that comes with 400 nits brightness. Nokia 2.2 is powered by quad-core Media Tek A22 CPU Chipset.
It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage and its body is made up of polycarbonate with a removable back panel and removable battery. The smartphone comes up with a 13MP primary sensor with a led flashlight. The smartphone also has a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone will be available for sale across all offline retail stores in India including Flipkart from 11 June.

Bharti Airtel, one among the leading telecom providers in India, has today announced that it has upgraded its mobile network in Delhi NCR by deploying its LTE 900 technology on the 900Mhz spectrum. The company has said that this will add to the high-speed network capacity and enhance the indoor network experience for Airtel 4G smartphone customers.
We should also mention that Airtel has promised high propagation and reach of the 900 Mhz spectrum, so with this, Airtel smartphone customers will enjoy enhanced 4G availability inside various buildings including houses, offices and malls. The company has also said that this will also result in wider availability of Airtel 4G across Delhi NCR, which is one among the largest and densest telecom markets in the country.
Speaking about the new development, Vani Venkatesh, CEO – Delhi/NCR, Bharti Airtel said, “We are obsessed about delighting our smartphone customers with quality network experience and high-speed data services. As we introduce LTE-900, we will further step up our indoor network coverage. It will enable high-speed connectivity and HD quality VoLTE calling for our customers in Delhi.”
The company has also added that as a part of its network transformation program, it has been deploying network technologies such as pre-5G Massive MIMO and Carrier Aggregation to enhance network capacity over the existing spectrum. Airtel India recently even conducted License Assisted Access (LAA) trial over a LIVE 4G network in Delhi and recorded speeds of approximately 500 Mbps over smartphones.
The telecom major uses a mix of 2300 Mhz, 1800 Mhz, 2100 Mhz and 900 Mhz spectrum bands to deliver a seamless network experience to customers.
We should mention that Airtel has not only rolled out 900Mhz spectrum in Delhi. A few days back rolled out the spectrum in Assam as well.
Airtel has also mentioned that since the 900 Mhz 4G bands has a high propagation and has a high reach, it would enable its customers in Assam and North East states to enjoy an improved 4G availability.
Much like in Delhi, the 900 Mhz 4G bands that Airtel will be using in Assam will reach inside buildings, homes, offices as well as malls. Other than that, Airtel 4G will be accessible and available to a wider area across the entire region due to the user of the 900 Mhz 4G band. In Assam and the North Eastern states, Bharti Airtel uses a spectrum bank of 2,300 Mhz (TD LTE), 1,800 Mhz (FD LTE) and now the 900 Mhz (LTE 900).

After weeks of leaks and rumours, the Motorola One Vision is finally making its way to India. The company has officially put a teaser video on its official Motorola India Twitter page which is 15 seconds long. The company is teasing the new smartphone with the hashtag #ANewVision which hints that the Motorola One Vision will finally be launching in the Indian market soon.
Motorola in its Twitter post has written that, “Let’s move a notch ahead with a wider perspective! Get ready to experience #ANewVision. Tag your binge-watch partner who needs to see this now!”. The video ends with a ‘Stay Tuned’ message which further hints about its launch. But even though Motorola has put out a teaser video about its new smartphone, it has not revealed the launch date and the pricing of the upcoming Moto One Vision. Breaking down the teaser, we could see that the device might come with a cinematic aspect ratio and the silhouette of the Moto One Vision shows that it will come with a full screen body. But there will be a punch-hole notch on the left side of the device.
Earlier leaks suggested that the device will be launched in India on June 20 but till now nothing has been confirmed by the company. Prior to this, the device was spotted on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification website which further confirmed that the device will be launching in India soon. The device was earlier launched in Brazil last month and as mentioned above, it will have an aspect ratio of 21:9.
The company is hosting an event in India on June 20. For that, it has also sent out a ‘block your date’ press invite. It further reads “Building on the benchmark, we are bringing to you another premium device on Thursday, 20th of June 2019… Save the date to experience the brilliance.” Other than the Motorola One Vision, there is also a possibility that the company might be launching a new Moto Z4 at the same launch event, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Motorola One Vision price (expected) and specifications
In Brazil, the Motorola One Vision is priced at BRL 1,999 (approximately Rs 35,000) so there is a possibility that it would be keeping the pricing similar for the Indian market as well. It comes in two colour variants – Sapphire Blue and Brown.
Now, talking about the specifications of the Motorola One Vision, it sports a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ (1080 x 2520 pixels) display with an aspect ratio of 21:9 CinemaVision. The device is powered by an octa-core 2.2GHz Exynos 9609 CPU paired with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 128GB of internal storage with support for a microSD card of up to 512GB. The upcoming smartphone comes with a hybrid dual-SIM support and runs Android 9.0 Pie.
Other than that, the Motorola One Vision packs a 3,500mAh battery with TurboPower fast charging support. For security, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner at the back. And similar to some other Motorola smartphones, it will be a part of Google’s Android One program.
For imaging duties, the Motorola One Vision features a dual-rear camera setup which comprises of a 48MP main camera lens with an f/1.7 aperture paired with a 5MP secondary camera with an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, there is a 25MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture placed in a hole-punch camera cut-out. The Moto One Vision comes with features like 8x digital zoom, portrait mode, dual-LED flash, cinemograph, Auto HDR, etc.

Earlier, we already saw that Nubia was teasing the launch of its upcoming gaming smartphone named Nubia Red Magic 3 in India. However, we didn’t have an India launch date to look forward to. Now, it has been confirmed that Nubia Red Magic 3 will be launching in India on June 17. The company will be partnering with Flipkart to bring the Nubia Red Magic 3 in India and it will be sold exclusively on the Indian e-commerce platform. Flipkart has also put out a teaser page for the Nubia Red Magic 3 on its platform but there is no option to pre-order or pre-book the device. Although the date of the Nubia Red Magic 3 is already out, the pricing of the upcoming gaming smartphone has currently not been announced.
Nubia Red Magic 3 was launched in China back in April 2019 and it came with impressive features such as a 5,000mAh battery, 90Hz refresh rate display and was powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC. Other than that, the Nubia Red Magic 3 has a centrifugal fan to cool it during the intensive gaming sessions. Flipkart’s teaser page reads GodModeOn with a hashtag along with the launch date of the device. Other features of the Nubia Red Magic 3 include air triggers which is helpful in gaming as it gives extra set of controls to the users. And lastly, it comes with a pogo pin connector which can be used to connect controllers to the device and make it a full-fledged gaming device.

Although the official Indian pricing of the device hasn’t been revealed yet but there is a possibility that it would be priced around Rs 30,000. When launched in China, it was priced at CNY 2,899 (approximately Rs 29,100), so we could see similar pricing for the Indian variant of the device as well.
The device came with multiple RAM and storage variants in China, so it remains to be seen how many variants of the Nubia Red Magic 3 launches in India.

It packs a massive 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support and the Nubia Red Magic 3 runs Android 9 Pie.
For imaging duties, the Nubia Red Magic 3 features a single 48MP camera with an f/1.7 aperture. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
According to the company, the Nubia Red Magic 3 is capable of giving an hour of gameplay with just 10 minutes of charging. Other features of the Nubia Red Magic 3 include front-facing stereo speakers, DTS:X, 3D sound technologies, and liquid cooling support for keeping the phone cool.
South Korean technology giant Samsung has announced the ‘Samsung Summer Sale’, under which customers can get a number of discounts and offers if they buy products from the company’s portfolio. OnePlus has officially rolled out the OxygenOS 9.0.6 update for its OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones. Manu J, a staff member of OnePlus, shared the detailed change-log in a dedicated forum post. Considering the forum post and the attached change-log, the update emphasizes on bug fixes accompanying a new feature. The company has also fixed the problem of calls being answered automatically when the smartphone is connected to Bluetooth headsets. Besides regular bug fixes and system improvements, OnePlus 5 and 5T devices are also getting the May 2019 security patch.
OxygenOS 9.0.6 has also launched Quick Pairing support for Bullets Wireless 2 as a part of its new update. This will make pairing the Bullets Wireless 2 with OnePlus 5 and 5T devices quicker than what it was earlier. The company has come up with various regular bug fixes and improvements. It has also included the feedback tool in the stable version of OxygenOS. Through OnePlus Community App the users can report any bug, give suggestions or request for features. The company has rolled out the OxygenOS 9.0.6 in an incremental manner. The update will reach a small percentage of users in the beginning, and if the update does not have any bugs, then a broader rollout will begin.

An improved white balance has also been added to all the three cameras present on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Earlier, the users complained about poor camera performance of the OnePlus pro. The new software also optimises the accuracy and stability of the autofocusing of the device. Furthermore, the OxygenOS also fixes the issues of double tap to wake function along with improved audio quality for voice calls from third-party apps. The company has also made improvements to the touch sensitivity. Apart from this, the users reported about the Phantom Touch or the Ghost touch which has also been fixed in the new version.

The Vivo Y17 was launched a few weeks ago and it packs some of the trending features of 2019 like a water-drop notched display and triple-rear camera setup (to name a few). The smartphone is placed in the sub-mid-range category and needless to say, this is the most competitive category in the Indian smartphone market. Design and Display
The Vivo Y17 holds a regular smartphone design and it leans towards a thick smartphone built. Even without a case it feels bulky. And when putting the transparent case, which comes in the box, it becomes a handful to hold. Its weight is 191g which is not much, but it is not on the lighter side either.
The front of the Vivo Y17 is dominated by the huge 6.35-inch HD+ (720 x 1,544 pixels) IPS LCD display with a dew-drop notch on top holding the front camera. The earpiece is placed right above the front camera in a metallic grille. And its display is one of the major selling points as it just dominates the smartphone. It does not compare to the colours and the accuracy of an AMOLED display panel, but does a fine job nevertheless. Its display comes with a slight yellowish tint which can be manually treated by tweaking the colour controls.
The right side of the Vivo Y17 holds the volume rockers and the power button, which is easy to use with one hand. The top of the smartphone is devoid of any sensors while the left side of the Vivo Y17 holds the SIM and microSD card slot. Yes, it has a dedicated dual-SIM slot along with a microSD card slot.
The bottom part of the Vivo Y17 holds a speaker grille along with a Micro-USB port for charging and a headphone jack along with a microphone. The back of the Vivo Y17 has a gradient back panel which comes in two colour options – Blue and Purple and it does look good. The back panel of the smartphone is also made up of glass which further adds to its premium looks.
The Vivo Y17’s dimensions are 159.43 × 76.77 × 8.92mm while its weight is 190.5g, which as said before is a bit on the heavier side. It comes in two colour variant – Mineral Blue and Mystic Purple, we had the Mineral Blue version and needless to say, we were impressed with its glass built. It has a gradient back finish which is blue at the top which turns into darker shade of blue at the bottom.
Performance and Cameras
On the performance department, the Vivo Y17 packs a tru-octa core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC and it performs well in the day-to-day activities. It packs 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage with a dedicated microSD card slot. And since it has 4GB of RAM it handles multi-tasking well. Although there were some jitters and lag here and there when we tried to push it in the performance area, it can handle daily usage with ease. It should be noted that it is not a top-end flagship, it costs under Rs 20K price point and offers just the same – mid-range performance. So, don’t expect it to out-perform all your heavy usage.
Gaming on the Vivo Y17 was fairly good as most games ran on medium settings. PUBG ran on Balanced graphics with Medium frame rate, the HD and the HDR graphics option was not supported for the smartphone so you will have to play in the Balanced setting itself. The device comes with what’s named as ‘Game Assistant’ mode and it basically functions as other Game modes in smartphones.
The Game Assistant in the Vivo Y17 comes with options to disable or enable the following notifications and features – Calls, Notifications, Three-finger mode, Performance SDK option, CPU optimization and RAM optimization along with Esports Mode and a Reject option. The Game Assistant does what it says and it blocks all the notification with a quick and simple toggle. Games such as Asphalt 8, Asphalt 9 etc ran on medium settings without any hiccups.
Talking about the benchmarks, the Vivo Y17 scores 87,762 on AnTuTu Benchmarking and on Geekbench it scores 904 on single core and 4,367 on multi core. Not bad for a sub-20K smartphone.
Now to talk about the battery life, the Vivo Y17 packs a massive 5,000mAh battery which easily lasted 2 days on normal and regular usage of browsing, social media, YouTube etc. At the end of the day, we were left with around 40% of battery charge, on a normal usage day. But once you start putting heavy load on the Vivo Y17 you can see a battery output of just a full day. It also comes with an 18W Dual Engine Fast Charging support, which is able to charge the battery from 0% to 100% in around two hours. So, on the battery department, Vivo Y17 wins with flying colours.
In the security department, the Vivo Y17 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner along with face unlock. In our testing we found out that the fingerprint scanner of the Vivo Y17 was fast, it unlocked the device right after your fingers have made contact with the sensor. But when unlocking with wet fingers, it took some time for it to recognize our limbs. On the other hand, the face unlock is fast. You just need to press the unlock button and face your smartphone, and it will unlock automatically.
The Vivo Y17 runs Android 9.0 skinned with FunTouch OS 9 so there are no complaints about the OS of the device. The FunTouch OS 9 might take some time to get used to as it does things its own ways and techniques. In some ways, the FunTouch OS 9 seems like a copy of iOS but it was smooth and jitter free. The quick-menu toggles are pulled from the bottom of the screen with an upwards slide motion (similar to an iPhone), the quick-menu toggles give the option to toggle on/off things like Wi-Fi, Mobile data, Airplane Mode, Bluetooth and so on. But when sliding from the top like other Android smartphones, you will be greeted with a notification panel which will show app notifications.
Talking about the camera of the Vivo Y17, it features an AI triple-rear camera setup placed in a vertically with gold linings around it. Below the camera setup is the LED flash. The rear camera of the Vivo Y17 consists of a 13MP main camera with an f/2.2 aperture paired with an 8MP 16mm ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The third sensor is a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
While at the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera of the Vivo Y17 comes with features such as Auto Scene, Doc capture, Pro Mode, Voice Control, Time-Lapse, Live Photos, HDR andSuper-Wide Angle Camera to name a few. While the front camera of the device comes laden with features such as Gender Detection, face beauty, live photo, voice control, portrait, beauty camera filter etc.
We tried the camera of the Vivo Y17 and needless to say, it delivered. The colours were vivid and lively with good contrast range, but as mentioned before, the white balance is a little on the warmer side. The low-light photography of the device gets the job done, but it too suffers from noise and detail reduction in very dark areas. The other negative point is the lack of OIS (optical image optimization), so zooming in becomes jittery and shaky. Other than that, it is a good camera with fast-focus and image production.
Verdict
At some places, the Vivo Y17 shines, like the price point it is targeted at, while at other is aches. The display, build and battery of the Vivo Y17 is great and it doesn’t feel like a cheap smartphone, but on the other hand, the camera could have been improved and it could have been a little slimmer.
Considering it is priced at Rs 15,990 where smartphones like Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy A50 play, the Vivo V17 seems over-priced. But nonetheless, it still is a good smartphone for people looking for a good camera phone and large battery life within a budget.

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has really upped its game since last year. The company has launched a number of devices and showcased quite a few prototypes which make it clear that it is taking its research behind the devices quite seriously. Since last year, we have seen a number of good smartphones from the company including Vivo NEX, Vivo V15 Pro and even the company’s holeless Apex phone. This year, the company will be seen launching its Z series. Here’s a look at some leaked images of Vivo’s Z series smartphone that have surfaced online.
Only the back panel of the smartphone is visible in the images that show the glass body design of the upcoming smartphone. Other than this, a camera module is placed on the rear panel of the handset that houses three vertically stacked lenses. Other than this, the module has an LED flash lens too. A fingerprint sensor can also be seen on the Vivo Z series smartphone’s back panel. So the possibility of having an in-display fingerprint scanner has been ruled out.
However, this also in a way rules out the presence of a Face Unlock feature. So, it can be assumed that the upcoming smartphone will come with a pop-up selfie camera to offer a full-screen experience to its users. We should mention that Vivo has launched a number of smartphones with pop-up selfie cameras including Vivo NEX, V15 Pro and V15. While the elevating cameras on Vivo V15 and Vivo NEX could not pop-up by themselves when the user tried unlocking the device, the one on Vivo V15 Pro did.
So maybe, the pop-up selfie camera on Vivo Z series will also not be able to elevate on its own each time the user tries unlocking the smartphone.
Besides this, the back panel of the smartphone also has a Vivo branding on it. We should add that as of now, there is no other information about the smartphone including its name, specifications and when it will be launched. We would have to wait a little more to find more about it.
But then, we should also mention that some reports are speculating that these images showcase the Vivo Z5x smartphone. But till there is a word from the company about this, we would recommend you to take this information with a pinch of salt.
But one thing is for sure. We do have a new Vivo smartphone to look forward to that comes with a triple rear camera setup and probably has a pop-up selfie camera too.

According to a recent report by TRA Research, Amazon was found to be the most trusted among the Internet brands in India. The survey was done by brand intelligence and data insights company’s Brand Trust Report 2019.
There are more Indian companies in the listing of the most trusted among the internet brands in India. After Oyo Rooms which is placed at number 5, the Indian taxi service Ola is ranked at number 6. Comparing Ola to Uber, which is the US-based taxi service and is placed at number 14, people trusted the Indian platform more than the foreign one even though they offer the same service.
After Ola, Indian e-commerce platform Flipkart was placed at number 7, which is six places behind its competitor Amazon. The difference between two of the same service providers, one being Indian while the other being foreign is staggering. On one hand, Amazon is leading the charts placed at number 1, on the other hand, Flipkart is placed at number 7. But when comparing all the top 20 companies in the report, we see that most of the rankings are taken by Indian start-ups and companies which is commendable.
Commenting on the report, N Chandramouli, CEO, TRA, said, “Many Indian Internet start-ups are leaders in their categories, which is no mean feat. The brands that focus on creating trust along with profits and growth are the ones that will survive in this business.”
LinkedIn, the social networking platform is placed at number 8 while another e-commerce platform, Snapdeal was placed at number 9. PayPal, the global online payments service ranked 18th while the Indian online payment service provider Paytm was placed at number 19 in the survey.

Microsoft’s next Xbox console is Project Scarlett
Microsoft has been tight-lipped about its upcoming gaming console for the longest time now. But at E3 2019, it finally gave us some details about the console, which has been codenamed as Project Scarlett. The company has announced that the Project Scarlett Xbox gaming console will have support for 8K gaming, 120fps framerates in games, and ray tracing. You can read more about it here.
The launch date of xCloud
Microsoft has announced the launch date of its cloud gaming service called xCloud. The service will be available starting October this year. We should also mention that the Xbox head Phil Spencer said at the conference that with xCloud, users can, “turn your Xbox One into your own personal and free xCloud server.”
The revamped Xbox Elite Controller
At the E3 2019 keynote, Microsoft also announced its Xbox Elite 2 controller that comes with a number of new updates. According to the company, the Xbox Elite 2 controller “features over 30 new ways to play like a pro, including adjustable-tension thumbsticks, new interchangeable components, up to 40 hours of rechargeable battery life, and limitless customization with the Xbox Accessories app on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.”
Release dates of Halo Infinite, Gears 5 and a new version of Flight Simulator
Halo Infinite and Gears 5 are among the biggest games on Microsoft’s Xbox. At E3 2019, the company has finally announced its release date. While the Gear 5 will be available to all starting September 10, Halo Infinite will only be rolled out next year. The game will also be available for the Project Scarlett. Speaking of Flight Simulator, a new version of the game will be launched next year. Speaking about it, the company said, “From light planes to wide-body jets, fly highly detailed and stunning aircraft in an incredibly realistic world. Create your flight plan and fly anywhere on the planet. Enjoy flying day or night and face realistic, challenging weather conditions.” Although the games have not been launched, at least now fans know when to expect it.
A fantasy game with George RR Martin
The leaks about the fantasy game by George RR Martin were real. A game called Elder Ring has been announced and it is a result of a collaboration between the author and Dark Souls creator FromSoftware. However, currently, it is being worked upon. The company showed the first trailer of the game at E3.
Details about the Cyberpunk 2077
Microsoft showed a trailer of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 at the E3 2019. From the trailer, we know that Keanu Reeves will be starring in the game. The company also announced that the game will be launched on April 16, 2020.
The launch date of The Outer Worlds
The Outer Worlds was first announced at The Game Awards and now, a new trailer of the game has been shown too. From the trailer, it looks like the game will merge the first person RPG gameplay of Fallout and a sci-fi universe. Microsoft also announced that the game will be launched on October 25 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Return of Minecraft and Battletoads
Microsoft finally showed the first trailer of the spinoff for Minecraft and announced that the game will be launching in Spring 2020. The company also announced the return of the Battletoads. However, as of now, there is no release date of the game.
Blair Witch will now be a new game
The software giant has announced that Blair Witch will now be a new video game and it also showed a brief trailer of the same. The game looks a lot like Silent Hill, however, it will have to be played in the first person.
Partnership with Double Fine
Another major announcement from E3 is that the company has partnered with Tim Schafer’s Double Fine studio. For those unaware, this is the studio behind games like Psychonauts. After this, the company is no longer independent. Speaking about the deal, Double Fine’s Greg Rice said, “And with that, we’re officially no longer independent, though forever indie in spirit.”

E3 2019 will be the centre-stage to some of the biggest game reveals and launches this year. Till now, multiple companies have revealed their upcoming titles. After Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and CyberPunk 2077 were revealed at the gaming conference, the Halo Infinite has been announced as well. Halo Infinite is the upcoming title in the Halo series and this time in the game, we will be taking the role of Master Chief once again. Halo Infinite was first teased by Microsoft at E3 2018 last year and now a year later the company has come up with new footage of the upcoming game.
Back in 2018, we were shown just a small glimpse of Master Chief but this time Microsoft teased us with some action from the character. Halo Infinite will more likely be an open-world version of the game.
Breaking down the trailer, we are shown a pilot/ engineer of a spaceship who is stranded in space on a broken ship. Somehow, he stumbles upon Master Chief in space and connects him to the system and powers him back on. At first, the reveal shows a message saying ‘AI NOT DETECTED’ which means that Cortana will not be with Chief for some time. But then they are attacked and Chief wields the iconic Halo’s Assault Rifle to counter the assailants. The trailer also shows a broken Halo Ring where 2018’s reveal trailer might have taken place. We have a feeling that we will be taken back to the Halo Ring once again. In the end, Master Chief is shown walking towards what seems like a control room (similar to other Halo games) where an AI can be heard talking and about ‘why she chose him. In addition to this, Master Chief is shown removing the chip which earlier held Cortana (the AI), and we have a feeling there will be another AI accompanying Chief on his journey, and it will most probably be Cortana herself.
Chris Lee, the studio head of Halo Infinite said, “This story will mark the beginning of a new chapter and challenge for the Chief, but it will also respect and continue threads that led to this point. If you’ve never played a Halo game before, this will be a great place to jump into the story.”
According to Microsoft, Halo Infinite will be launching alongside the company’s next-generation of gaming consoles which is named as Project Scarlett. The company also said that Halo Infinite is the ‘spiritual reboot’ of Halo but it will have new characters and a ‘perfect starting point for new players’. Other than the new console, Halo Infinite will be coming to PC and Xbox One as well. The upcoming game is powered by a new Slipspace Engine and is created by 343 Industries.
We have some news for gamers who have been waiting for the new Xbox and accessories. Software giant Microsoft announced some details about its upcoming Xbox gaming console at the E3 yesterday. The new gaming console has codenamed as Project Scarlett and will only be launched next year. However, that wasn’t the only big announcement from the company. Microsoft also announced its Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 at the event.
According to the company, the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 has been re-engineered completely and it comes with new adjustable tension thumbsticks. Besides this, the bumpers have been redesigned and the hair locks are now shorter, which will enable the user to fire faster. The company has also added support for USB Type C and Bluetooth. There is also a rechargeable battery on the controller that can last up to 40 hours with one charge. It is worth noticing that the controller design has been upgraded to come with a wrap-around rubberized grip. The new controller’s design is a big update to the look and feel of the existing one as it comes with a lot of more options for customization. It also comes with the connectivity support that gamers have been waiting and requesting for since so long.
It is worth adding that Microsoft updated its Elite controller last time in August last year when it unveiled a new robot white coloured option. Although the controller had a new colour variant, it did not offer any new features. The second-generation Elite controller has been rumoured for more than a year now. The company has said that the pre-orders for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 will begin now and it will be available in 24 countries starting November 4. The new Xbox controller is priced at $179.99.
Speaking about the Project Scarlett Xbox gaming console, it has a custom-designed processor that is based on AMD’s Zen 2 and Radeon RDNA architecture and it is promised to be four times more powerful than the Xbox One X. Project Scarlett gaming console will have support for 8K gaming, up to 120fps framerates, variable refresh rate and ray tracing.

E3 is the annual event that all gamers look forward to because so many companies announce what they have up their sleeves for their gaming audience at the conference. E3 2019 is no different. Ahead of the E3 2019, Microsoft has already announced some details about its upcoming Xbox console. But that is not the only exciting thing that has been announced. Companies are also releasing their gameplay footages, trailers, and teasers to create the hype for their products before they are launched. One of these trailers is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which is one of the most awaited titles of 2019. Electronics Art (EA) has released 15 minutes long and uncut gameplay trailer for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
The gameplay trailer takes place three hours in the actual game and the main character Cal Kestis (voiced and played by Cameron Monaghan) is no longer a Padawan. However, he has also not become a full-fledged Jedi. The footage shows that the game takes place on a Wookie Planet called Kashyyyk. This is the planet where the Wookies have been enslaved and the young Jedi protagonist will be working with a group of other soldiers to free the Wookies.
In the trailer, Cal is accompanied by a small droid named BD-1 who is as adorable as he is trustworthy, and as useful as the BB-8 and R2D2 from the past movies. The droid has his own unique voice, much like other droids before him and from the trailer, it seems to be extremely useful. There is also Forest Whitaker, who earlier played Gerrera in 2016’s standalone Star Wars movie named Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Coming to the graphics, the trailer reveals that it is still in its Alpha phase so it is subject to change. The planet and the surroundings where the actual game takes place is huge and engaging. It is laden with forest and other natural happenings like waterfall, unique animals and so on. But since it is in Alpha phase, nothing could be said about the graphics as it might be changed when the actual game launches.
Talking about the use of powers, we see that Cal is capable of using the Light Saber and can use the Force to do a number of tasks. There tasks include stopping the lasers mid-air, removing something from the path, using the Force while fighting to push enemies away or pull them in. The protagonist is also seen using other tools and his droid to navigate through the mission.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be a single player game that would follow Cal Kestis, one of the last surviving Jedi of the Jedi Order after it was attacked by the Order 66. The game follows the events after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. According to Vince Zampella, the founder of Respawn, the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be a story driven game and it will have a heavy narrative.
The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be launched for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One on November 15.

However, the smart appliances must come with Zigbee home automation standard to be connected to the Amazon Echo Show.
To sum it up, we would say that we really liked the design of the Amazon Echo Show. Whether you place it in your living room or bedroom, the smart speaker would look great and prove to be useful at the same time.

Another thing that Amazon Echo Show can do is let users browse the internet. Although it only has support for Silk and Firefox browsers, we felt that it is a good additional facility to have on the smart device.
Even when you just leave it idle, the device shows you information that is related to various trending topics and this changes every single day. If you feel interested in any of these, you can ask Alexa to tell you more about them.
As we mentioned earlier, the Amazon Echo Show can also be used to control other smart home devices. A number of devices from the likes of Philips, Syska and Xiaomi are supported.
Now, let’s talk about how Amazon Echo Show performed in these functions. Most of our experience with the device was good. We found it very easy to setup the device using our Amazon account and Alexa app. Connecting other devices to the Echo Show smart speaker was also a seamless process. You can place the device anywhere from your office table top to your living room or even your own room. With the number of functions it has, it will prove to be useful everywhere.
You can start your day by dismissing an alarm on Alexa, and then you can get your news from it and ask it how much time will it take to reach your work place. If you have the smart speaker with you at work, you can waste less time looking up for things on the web and ask Alexa to do that for you instead. In your leisure time, you can ask Amazon Echo Show to display videos, play quizzes (even in Hindi), or get it to read you an audiobook. There is so much that the device can do, and most of the times it does it well.
We watched a lot of videos on the Amazon Echo Show, and we found its audio quality as well as the viewing experience on the display to be good. Even at really high volumes, the smart speaker did a good job with the audio output without cracking. However, some may complain about the HD resolution of the device since it is on the expensive side.
Alexa helped us with most of the things we asked it to do. However, there were times when it encountered problems while stopping one task to start the other. So suppose the speaker was playing videos and we asked it to do something completely different, at times, it did not follow the command or had a delayed response. We recommend just using the quick settings on the top bar to do certain things like going back to the Home screen between various tasks.
Since the display of the device is big in size, we found it to not only be good for watching videos, but also for reading text when the smart speaker was placed at a distance.
One thing that we could not test during our time with the device was its ability to work with other smart home appliances, which the company claims it can do brilliantly.

If you are used to watching videos and shows from the service on TV, you may not enjoy the experience too much on this screen. However, others may like it as the display offers a good viewing experience.
Another thing that Amazon Echo Show can do is let users browse the internet. Although it only has support for Silk and Firefox browsers, we felt that it is a good additional facility to have on the smart device.
Even when you just leave it idle, the device shows you information that is related to various trending topics and this changes every single day. If you feel interested in any of these, you can ask Alexa to tell you more about them.
As we mentioned earlier, the Amazon Echo Show can also be used to control other smart home devices. A number of devices from the likes of Philips, Syska and Xiaomi are supported.
Now, let’s talk about how Amazon Echo Show performed in these functions. Most of our experience with the device was good. We found it very easy to setup the device using our Amazon account and Alexa app. Connecting other devices to the Echo Show smart speaker was also a seamless process. You can place the device anywhere from your office table top to your living room or even your own room. With the number of functions it has, it will prove to be useful everywhere.
You can start your day by dismissing an alarm on Alexa, and then you can get your news from it and ask it how much time will it take to reach your work place. If you have the smart speaker with you at work, you can waste less time looking up for things on the web and ask Alexa to do that for you instead. In your leisure time, you can ask Amazon Echo Show to display videos, play quizzes (even in Hindi), or get it to read you an audiobook. There is so much that the device can do, and most of the times it does it well.
We watched a lot of videos on the Amazon Echo Show, and we found its audio quality as well as the viewing experience on the display to be good. Even at really high volumes, the smart speaker did a good job with the audio output without cracking. However, some may complain about the HD resolution of the device since it is on the expensive side.
Alexa helped us with most of the things we asked it to do. However, there were times when it encountered problems while stopping one task to start the other. So suppose the speaker was playing videos and we asked it to do something completely different, at times, it did not follow the command or had a delayed response. We recommend just using the quick settings on the top bar to do certain things like going back to the Home screen between various tasks.
Since the display of the device is big in size, we found it to not only be good for watching videos, but also for reading text when the smart speaker was placed at a distance.
One thing that we could not test during our time with the device was its ability to work with other smart home appliances, which the company claims it can do brilliantly.
The right side of the Vivo Y17 holds the volume rockers and the power button, which is easy to use with one hand. The top of the smartphone is devoid of any sensors while the left side of the Vivo Y17 holds the SIM and microSD card slot. Yes, it has a dedicated dual-SIM slot along with a microSD card slot.
The bottom part of the Vivo Y17 holds a speaker grille along with a Micro-USB port for charging and a headphone jack along with a microphone. The back of the Vivo Y17 has a gradient back panel which comes in two colour options – Blue and Purple and it does look good. The back panel of the smartphone is also made up of glass which further adds to its premium looks.
The Vivo Y17’s dimensions are 159.43 × 76.77 × 8.92mm while its weight is 190.5g, which as said before is a bit on the heavier side. It comes in two colour variant – Mineral Blue and Mystic Purple, we had the Mineral Blue version and needless to say, we were impressed with its glass built. It has a gradient back finish which is blue at the top which turns into darker shade of blue at the bottom.
The Game Assistant in the Vivo Y17 comes with options to disable or enable the following notifications and features – Calls, Notifications, Three-finger mode, Performance SDK option, CPU optimization and RAM optimization along with Esports Mode and a Reject option. The Game Assistant does what it says and it blocks all the notification with a quick and simple toggle. Games such as Asphalt 8, Asphalt 9 etc ran on medium settings without any hiccups.
Talking about the benchmarks, the Vivo Y17 scores 87,762 on AnTuTu Benchmarking and on Geekbench it scores 904 on single core and 4,367 on multi core. Not bad for a sub-20K smartphone.
Now to talk about the battery life, the Vivo Y17 packs a massive 5,000mAh battery which easily lasted 2 days on normal and regular usage of browsing, social media, YouTube etc. At the end of the day, we were left with around 40% of battery charge, on a normal usage day. But once you start putting heavy load on the Vivo Y17 you can see a battery output of just a full day. It also comes with an 18W Dual Engine Fast Charging support, which is able to charge the battery from 0% to 100% in around two hours. So, on the battery department, Vivo Y17 wins with flying colours.
In the security department, the Vivo Y17 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner along with face unlock. In our testing we found out that the fingerprint scanner of the Vivo Y17 was fast, it unlocked the device right after your fingers have made contact with the sensor. But when unlocking with wet fingers, it took some time for it to recognize our limbs. On the other hand, the face unlock is fast. You just need to press the unlock button and face your smartphone, and it will unlock automatically.
The Vivo Y17 runs Android 9.0 skinned with FunTouch OS 9 so there are no complaints about the OS of the device. The FunTouch OS 9 might take some time to get used to as it does things its own ways and techniques. In some ways, the FunTouch OS 9 seems like a copy of iOS but it was smooth and jitter free. The quick-menu toggles are pulled from the bottom of the screen with an upwards slide motion (similar to an iPhone), the quick-menu toggles give the option to toggle on/off things like Wi-Fi, Mobile data, Airplane Mode, Bluetooth and so on. But when sliding from the top like other Android smartphones, you will be greeted with a notification panel which will show app notifications.
Talking about the camera of the Vivo Y17, it features an AI triple-rear camera setup placed in a vertically with gold linings around it. Below the camera setup is the LED flash. The rear camera of the Vivo Y17 consists of a 13MP main camera with an f/2.2 aperture paired with an 8MP 16mm ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The third sensor is a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
While at the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera of the Vivo Y17 comes with features such as Auto Scene, Doc capture, Pro Mode, Voice Control, Time-Lapse, Live Photos, HDR andSuper-Wide Angle Camera to name a few. While the front camera of the device comes laden with features such as Gender Detection, face beauty, live photo, voice control, portrait, beauty camera filter etc.

According to the company, the Xbox Elite 2 controller “features over 30 new ways to play like a pro, including adjustable-tension thumbsticks, new interchangeable components, up to 40 hours of rechargeable battery life, and limitless customization with the Xbox Accessories app on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.”
