After confirming iQoo Z6 5G arrival in India. Vivo’s sub-brand today confirmed the India launch date which has been scheduled for March 16. Prior to this, the firm did not confirm the India launch date instead it separately created a microsite to tease the upcoming handset. The phone is a successor of iQoo Z5 5G which was launched in the country last year. Ahead of the March 16 India launch, iQoo Z6 5G’s specifications have also been released ahead of the debut of the mid-range smartphone. The next smartphone’s pricing has also been hinted at by iQoo. The special page teases the key specification of the upcoming phone. Under the hood of the smartphone will be a Snapdragon 695 SoC coupled with undisclosed LPDDR4X RAM. It will also include a 6.58-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and DCI-P3 broad colour gamut coverage. According to the business, the iQoo Z6 5G will also include a five-layered liquid cooling system for thermal management. According to the firm, this reduces the surface temperature of the smartphone by roughly 3 degrees and the CPU temperature by around 10 degrees while playing CPU-intensive games. As per the dedicated microsite, the iQoo Z6 5G has achieved an AnTuTu benchmark score of 4,10,563 points, which is said to be more than the 3,92,543 score of a smartphone equipped with a Snapdragon 750G CPU. The gadget is believed to include 8GB of RAM that can be expanded to 4GB through the virtual RAM 2.0 capability. The smartphone is finished in glossy black colour. It looks to have a flat edge with a fingerprint sensor placed on the right side of the frame on the side. There is a rectangular camera module with what seems to be a triple camera setup, a flash, and 5G branding. The device’s bottom end is likewise branded with iQoo. The smartphone has also been listed on Amazon confirming its availability via an e-commerce platform. As per the listing, the mobile is touted to fall between the Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000 pricing range. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. It also features a dewdrop notch design display and a square-shaped camera module with a textured rear panel. The camera unit consists of dual sensors with a 50MP primary lens. Redmi 10C is the successor to the Redmi 9C, which was released in Malaysia in 2020. Xiaomi is introducing the Redmi 10 in India on March 17 which is believed to be a rebranded Redmi 10C. Earlier the upcoming device was speculated to be a rebadged variant of the handset announced last month globally. Redmi 10C price The Chinese manufacturer hasn’t revealed much information about the phone but in terms of pricing and availability, Redmi 10C is available in two different configurations of 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at N78,000 (approx Rs 14,300) and N87,000 (Approx Rs 16,000) respectively. The phone is being offered in black, blue, and green colour options and is now available in Nigeria through select shops, including Slot.ng.

Redmi 10C specifications

As we said earlier the company published the rest of the Redmi 10C’s specifications. The Redmi 10C’s square-shaped camera module has dual rear camera sensors, an LED flash, and a fingerprint sensor. It will most likely have a 50-megapixel primary sensor.

Android Messages app now Displays iPhone Emoji Reactions, more features introduced

Google is pushing out an improved Messages app that displays iPhone users’ replies as emojis on Android devices. Additionally, the update also allows iOS users to receive top quality images as well as videos from Android phones via Google Photos links. The new Message app update is said to be available to Android smartphones in the coming days or weeks. When Android and iPhone users communicate with one other, not everything works as it should. This is because these discussions employ SMS, an outmoded messaging standard, rather than RCS, a contemporary, more secure industry standard used by Android that supports high-quality videos, emoji replies, end-to-end encryption, and other features. With the latest Message app update, Google has worked upon some improvements addressing the Android and iPhone conversations. Reactions from iPhone users are now shown as emojis on your Android phone, much like when you message someone who uses an Android smartphone. Beginning with English-only devices, other languages will be added in the future. Additionally, with the integrations of Google Photos into Messages, everyone can now watch your videos in the same resolution that you do. You can send your videos as Google Photos links directly from within the conversation, preserving their clarity. You’ll soon be able to submit photographs this way as well. In addition, the redesigned Messages app organises your message inbox by automatically categorising messages into Personal and Business tabs. An organised inbox automatically classifies your messages into Personal and Business tabs so you can simply find what you need at any given time. Furthermore, you may configure one-time password messages to be automatically erased after 24 hours to help decrease clutter even further. This was initially introduced in India and is now extending to the United States. It also prompts you to respond to missed messages and reminds you to wish your loved ones a happy birthday. If you save someone’s birthday in your device’s contacts app, you’ll get a friendly reminder when you open Messages or start a discussion with them. With the latest Message app update comes Gentle nudges that can now remind you to respond to communications you may have missed or need to follow up on, ensuring that nothing crucial falls through the cracks. This will begin with English users throughout the world. OnePlus 9RT review: Super-smooth performance, but at a price

We are always excited about using OnePlus smartphones and the latest by the company, OnePlus 9RT, was no exception. It looks absolutely amazing and is available at a starting price of Rs 42,999. Read the rest of our review to know if the OnePlus 9RT is worth buying.

OnePlus 9RT review: Design and Display

We were really impressed by the design of the OnePlus 9RT. The smartphone has a metallic curved frame which makes it easy to hold and also enhances one-handed usage. The ‘silk glass’ rear panel of the device comes with a matte frosted finish that sort of gives a sandish texture to the surface. In total, it gives a very premium look to the handset, which is available in Hacker Black and Nano Silver colour options.  Speaking further about the back panel of the OnePlus 9RT, it houses the camera module that comes with three lenses, and the company branding lies right in the centre. The right edge of the smartphone houses the alert slider and the Power button, while the left one has the volume rocker key. The USB Type-C port, speaker grille, microphone, and SIM tray are on the bottom edge while the top only has the secondary microphone.  OnePlus 9RT review 3 Flip over and you’ll see the 6.62-inch AMOLED full HD+ display that is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The screen has a fingerprint scanner towards the bottom and it houses a selfie camera on the top-left. The bezels that outline the screen of the device are rather thin and even the relatively thicker chin cannot be termed as thick.  The colours showcased on the display of the smartphone are vibrant and they remain consistent at different viewing angles. The images projected are sharp and clear and the brightness level is just apt. The sunlight readability of the device is decent too. We watched a number of videos on the OnePlus 9RT and we have to say that the experience was an enjoyable one. In a nutshell, the design and display were both positive aspects of the smartphone and we were really impressed by both.

OnePlus 9RT review: Performance and Cameras

Before we speak about the performance of the OnePlus 9RT, let’s take a minute to discuss its specifications. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and it packs an 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The handset has support for 5G and comes with three Wi-Fi antennas, besides the usual connectivity options. The smartphone also comes with a vapour chamber cooling system for heat dissipation but lacks an IP rating and wireless charging. It runs Android 11 skinned with OxygenOS 11.3 and houses a 4,500mAh battery. With the said software, one can find a number of customizations in the phone, just like other devices from the company.  OnePlus 9RT review 2 OnePlus 9RT offers a great experience when it comes to performance. You can switch between multiple apps and tabs of Chrome like it’s a cakewalk and the fingerprint scanner works wonderfully every time. No matter how heavy an app you use on the phone, it works very seamlessly and is quick to launch. We often watched Netflix while using navigation (we weren’t the ones driving), and not once did the device heat up.  Playing games was not an issue either. Even games like Asphalt 9: Legends that come with heavy graphics could be played without any hiccups on the handset. The sound output of the OnePlus 9RT was good too, and so was the battery life. The 4,500mah battery lasted a day and a half with usage involving watching videos, using social media apps and phone calls.     Coming to the cameras of the device, they were certainly another aspect that left us impressed. OnePlus 9RT comes with a 50MP sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro lens. On the front panel too, there is a 16MP selfie snapper. OnePlus 9RT review image sample 3 The camera app comes with a button for AI scene enhancement and dual view video recording. It also comes with a Hi-Res mode for a 108MP photo. As expected, the primary sensor did a good job during the day, especially outdoors. The colours were vibrant, but some may find them to be a little too saturated in a few pictures. The results were a little inconsistent with the Portrait mode. A lot more area gets fitted into the picture with the ultra-wide camera, but the image quality drops. The macro lens did a good job too, but only when lighting conditions were favourable. If there was a camera that performed well under low-lit conditions, it was the main camera of the smartphone. It did a good job even without the Night Mode enabled, and we consider this to be a big plus. The selfie camera’s performance was decent in well-lit conditions.

Verdict

At a starting price of Rs 42,999, the OnePlus 9RT definitely makes a great buy. With a beautiful design, vibrant display, super-smooth performance, a lasting battery life, and a great main camera, it can easily be called an all-rounder. The other two cameras could be better and an IP rating and wireless charging could have been accommodated, given the price point. But if these aren’t a big deal to you, you would not be disappointed. OnePlus 9RT Pros
  • Beautiful design
  • Vibrant display
  • Amazing primary camera
OnePlus 9RT Cons
  • Ultra-wide and macro cameras could be better
  • No IP rating
  • No support for wireless charging

Comparison: iPhone SE 2022 Vs iPhone 13 mini

The iPhone SE 2022 is Apple’s most recent and most affordable handset to date. The phone has the same body factor as its predecessor, the iPhone SE, which was released two years ago. The new iPhone SE is powered by Apple’s most powerful A15 Bionic SoC, which is also used in the flagship iPhone 13 Series. Because the iPhone SE is the most inexpensive smartphone in this article, we will compare it to the more affordable iPhone 13 mini, as both phones are tiny in size and have few commonalities. If you want to buy an iPhone, here’s a comparison between the new iPhone SE and the iPhone 13 mini.

Display

iPhone SE 2022: 4.7-inch Retina HD display iPhone 13 mini: 5.4 inches Super Retina XDR display

Processor

iPhone SE 2022: A15 Bionic chipset iPhone 13 mini: A15 Bionic chipset

Rear camera(s)

iPhone SE 2022: single rear camera 12-megapixel ƒ/1.8 aperture Wide camera iPhone 13 mini: Dual rear cameras- 12MP wide-angle and 12MP ultra-wide lens

Selfie camera

iPhone SE 2022: 7MP with f/2.2 aperture iPhone 13 mini: 12MP selfie camera

RAM and storage

iPhone SE 2022: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB variants iPhone 13 mini: 128GB storage, 256GB storage and 512GB storage

Battery

iPhone SE 2022: inbuilt iPhone 13 mini: 2,406 mAh

Operating system

iPhone SE 2022: iPhone 13 mini: iOS 15

Starting Price

iPhone SE 2022: 43,000 iPhone 13 mini: Rs 69,900 The new iPhone SE keeps the same appearance as its predecessor, which also resembles the iPhone 8. The iPhone 13 mini, on the other hand, sports a larger, better display with narrow bezels. However, both smartphones have comparable software and processors. The camera sensors are almost the same. Note that all of the iPhone 13 models include faceID whereas SE still settles for a Touch ID and home button. However, the 13th generation features a dual configuration on the rear, whilst the competition has a single wide lens. Meanwhile, a story has arisen on the internet saying that the new iPhone SE performance is similar to that of the iPhone 13 mini because both handsets are reported to have the same RAM capacity and processor. So if you want the iPhone 13 mini, you’ll have to spend a little extra. Another point to add is that even if you pick the greater storage model of the SE, it will still be less expensive than the base model of mini. Also, if you are a first-time user, we recommend going with the iPhone SE 2022. Asus ROG Phone 5s review: For next-gen gaming

0
Asus usually brings out a new ROG phone in the mid of the year, however, this time they have brought out a new version or an upgraded version of sorts of the ROG Phone 5. There have been enhancements made and this is the Asus ROG Phone 5s review, you all need to check out before buying the device.

Asus ROG Phone 5S review: Design and Display

Well, honestly, everything from the box to the smartphone itself reminds us of the Asus ROG Phone 5. Same packaging, similar design, port placement, air triggers are what you get on the new Asus ROG Phone 5S, too. On the front, you get a 6.78-inch display that is not edge to edge, but two thick bands run on top and bottom. This has been kept for better game ergonomics. The display has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and no screen protector, just like the last edition. The screen has FHD+ resolution (2,448 x 1080 pixels) and a 144Hz refresh rate, which is the best seen in any smartphone. It is a Samsung AMOLED display that the Asus ROG Phone 5S uses with a 1MS response time. We loved spending time with this display. Everything from playing games like Asphalt 9 and BGMI to watching movies on Netflix was a superior experience. The daylight visibility of the screen is also very good and the colours do not wash down when seen under direct sunlight. Asus-ROG-Phone-5s-review Talking a bit more about the aesthetics of the smartphone, the Asus ROG Phone 5S comes with a glass back (CG 3) with a metal side frame. On the frame, you get two air triggers on the right side along with the volume rocker and power buttons, which are placed perfectly well and within reach when using the phone with one hand. The left side has the secondary charging USB Type-C port along with the power point for the Aero Active cooler (sold separately). The dual SIM tray can also be found here. Asus-ROG-Phone-5s-review At the bottom of the Asus ROG Phone 5S, you get the primary USB Type-C charging port, Primary MIC and a 3.5mm audio port. At the top you get another MIC, in total there are 4 MICs on this smartphone. The Rear has the ROG branding and its LOGO is lit with LED lights. These are RGB lights and can be controlled via the X mode settings. There are three cameras in a ROG style camera bump placed on the back of the smartphone with an LED flash. Overall, the design of the phone has been seen before, yet still is very modern.

Asus ROG Phone 5s review: Performance and Cameras

Before speaking of the Asus ROG Phone 5s performance, let’s shed some light on the tech specs of the smartphone. The 5s comes with an Octa-Core Snapdragon 888+ CPU that clocks at 2.99GHz. The graphics are provided by Adreno 660 and when it comes to RAM and storage, it is available in 8GB RAM and 128GB Storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 Storage versions in India. While there are higher RAM and storage configurations available in other countries, India right now does not have them. We are testing the one that has 8GB RAM. Overall, even with less RAM, we did not see any lag on the smartphone when using it. Even with Android 11 out of the box, the OS and apps open smoothly. Everything is fluid, however, you do get to see an occasional stutter when demanding games run on it, but 9 out of 10 times all the games ran very-very well. There is WiFi 6 also on this smartphone and we did not face any disconnection issues in the device, which many of you asked us over social media. The smartphone does get a little warm after 30 minutes of gaming, but then cools down very quickly too when you stop gaming. If you are a hardcore gamer, we do recommend using the Aero cooler with it. Asus has used a better vapour and heat removal system in the Asus ROG Phone 5s, which seems to work, but still, an Aero cooler is needed for prolonged lag-free gaming sessions. The air triggers still are best in the system and are the preferred choice when playing games like BGMI. A 30W charger comes in the box, but this one can fast charge with a 67W charger. Amazingly, only the supplied charger works with the Asus ROG Phone 5s, if you use any other charger it will not work. There are 2 x 3,000mAh (6,000 mAh total) batteries inside, which charge very rapidly. Also, the additional USB Type-C charging port on the left means you can have uninterrupted gaming sessions, even when the charger is attached. However, that increases the heat being driven on the back panel. After nominal use, we got over 22 hours of battery life from it. But if you game a lot, you will get between 5-7 hours of continuous gaming. Moving to the cameras, the Asus ROG Phone 5s has three cameras available on the back of the smartphone. The primary one is the 64M wide-angle lens via which we got some really good shots indoors and outdoors. The images came out crisp and colours were close to life. The quality went down a lot when clicking at night or in very low light. So our suggestion is to turn on the flash if you want great party shots. The next one is the 13MP ultrawide lens, which is okay-ish. It is there in case you need it, but all your primary work will be done by the 64MP one. The third sensor is a 5MP macro lens, which is quite good. We took close shots of food and plants from a few centimetres away and it delivered very good shots, just not in low light. Videos here can be recorded in 8K at 30 FPS, which are not the best so we moved it down to 4K at 60FPS and that was where we squeezed out realistic moving pictures. On the front, users get a 24MP wide sensor which is good for basic selfie use. Remember, this is a gaming smartphone so do not expect the best shots to come from the front camera. Saying that, we did manage to get good shots in daylight. Again, at night the rear camera with the LED flash on will give you better results. The company supplies the Asus ROG Phone 5s with two speakers with stereo sound. That is good if you watching a movie with a friend, but when gaming you would want to connect the 3.5mm wired earphones for the best results. For security, there is an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is not the best in class, but 7 out of 10 times will work.

Verdict

All in all, Asus has rectified a lot of things in this version of the smartphone. There is a lot done and more to do. For example, Android 12 would have been better. Yet, if you are in the market looking for a good gaming smartphone under Rs 50,000, you can look at this option.

Xiaomi 11i review: A suitable smartphone for day-to-day use

Since the start of the new year, there have been a slew of smartphone launches, particularly in the mid-range segment. We have been extremely busy testing new devices, one of which is the Xiaomi 11i. We have been testing it for nearly a month. There is another variant known as the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge, which offers 120W charging while the one we have offers 67W charging, and this is the only difference between the two phones. So, check out our detailed review of the Xiaomi 11i to learn our honest thoughts on the latest handset.

Xiaomi 11i review: Design and Display

Starting with the design and build quality, we must say that it is quite different from other devices we have seen. It has a blocky appearance with flat and sharp edges, which we found quite uncomfortable at first, but got used to overtime. The rear has a matte glass finish that gives it a premium feel. We have been testing the Camo Green colour, which is both refreshing and beautiful.  Xiaomi 11i review: Design and Display When the light strikes the surface at the correct angle, the colour appears in different hues. The back panel does not collect a lot of fingerprints or smudges. On the other side, we would have preferred it if it had a metal frame. The camera module is rather large and draws a lot of attention, which is a good thing for most influencers these days. We also have no complaints about the device’s weight, which is evenly distributed and includes a large battery. Furthermore, unlike the Vivo V23 Pro, the Xiaomi 11i has an IP53 rating and is one of the few brands that offer splash resistance on a mid-range phone. Xiaomi 11i review: Design and Display You also get an IR blaster, a 3.5mm jack, and speakers on the top frame, which is uncommon in the segment. Our finger/thumb, on the other hand, naturally rested on the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which also serves as a power button. The fingerprint sensor is quick and precise. The volume controls are also easily accessible. The left side, on the other hand, is devoid of any buttons. As the device supports dual set-up, there is another stereo speaker grill below, as well as a USB Type-C port and SIM tray. On the front, you get a 6.67-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels. The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, a refresh rate of 120Hz, touch sampling rate of 360Hz, pixel density of 395ppi, peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits, HDR10 compliance, and Widevine L1 support. The screen has a small camera hole-punch cutout near the top and thin bezels on all sides. Xiaomi has chosen Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the Xiaomi 11i. Xiaomi 11i review: Design and Display The colours of the display are eye-catching and appealing. The AMOLED display has a high level of contrast, which is noticeable when watching content in low-light conditions. The speakers are strong, and the stereo sound improves the overall video viewing experience. All of these features, along with slim bezels and a small punch hole cut out, improve the overall viewing experience. It also gets a lot bright, so you won’t have any problems using it outside under direct sunlight.

Xiaomi 11i review: Performance and Cameras

In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 11i is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC, which is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. A microSD card can be used to expand the internal storage up to 1TB. We had a good time with the Xiaomi 11i. It is decently fast, apps open quickly, and multitasking is not an issue if you are upgrading from a low-cost or mid-range smartphone. The thermal handling is also excellent; whether gaming, multitasking, or running heavy applications, this smartphone does not crack at all.    Furthermore, we were pleased with its gaming performance. The majority of games can be played on this smartphone at high settings with complete stability. Call of Duty is a high-end game that it easily handles. It provides a consistent 60 frames per second at high graphics settings and a very high frame rate. We did not experience any lag or heating while playing BGMI for more than 30 minutes. So, in our opinion, the Dimensity 920 SoC is an excellent processor. Furthermore, the stereo speakers here are quite good; it is sufficiently loud but does not feel as good as the one found on premium devices. However, we enjoyed listening to music and watching videos on this device.  review of Xiaomi 11i In terms of software, the Xiaomi 11i is powered by MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11. No word of Android 12 at the moment. The device comes with a slew of preinstalled apps. However, if you prefer a clean interface, you can uninstall them. The UI includes a number of customisations, such as dual apps, which allow you to easily use two similar apps, such as WhatsApp.  Game Turbo, on the other hand, allows you to manage all of your games in one place, and it also allows you to customise the always-on display. However, some apps’ implementation of the dark mode is subpar. Scrolling and navigation in compatible games is extremely fluid due to the fast refresh rate. The 120Hz option, on the other hand, is disabled by default. The Xiaomi 11i comes with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel primary Samsung HM2 sensor with an f/1.89 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, it also has a 16-megapixel selfie camera sensor with an f/2.45 aperture. Beginning with the main camera, we found the daylight images to be fairly average for the price. It can take some good pictures with enhanced colours and perfect details on occasions. At times, it over sharpens the images, and the HDR does not work super well. The camera sensor also had difficulty focusing on close subjects. In fact, the shutter speed and image processing are both slow, making it impossible to capture stable or detailed images of moving objects. In our case, we had difficulty capturing a high-quality image of our pet. Portrait images, on the other hand, appeared overly sharpened. The ultrawide images, on the other hand, are nice but not spectacular.

108MP sensor
During low-light conditions, the primary sensor does a good job of reducing image noise. You can use night mode to get even better shots.
review of Xiaomi 11i
Portrait shot
When it comes to selfies, the front-facing camera outperforms the others. You get good selfies without oversharpening the human subject. In terms of videography, the camera is limited to 4K 30fps with no stabilisation. Even the video recording at 1080p 60fps appears shaky. So, in order to capture stable video, you must use 1080p @ 30fps. While selfie videos taken in 1080p@30fps mode are stable, switching to 60fps causes the videos to look unstable. Overall, the cameras left us with a mixed bag of feelings.

Verdict

It costs Rs 27,000 for the base variant, which has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and Rs 29,000 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. Because the company has included the fast charger, the pricing is on the higher side when compared to its predecessor, the Mi 10i. There will be no problems with the phone in normal use, nor will there be any heating issues. We appreciate that Xiaomi offers fast charging, but that isn’t the only reason we recommend the Xiaomi 11i. We loved the display and long battery life too. If cameras aren’t important to you, this phone is a very good choice, but there are many other options on the market with a faster chipset and a more capable camera setup from Xiaomi, in case you are a shutterbug. Xiaomi 11i Pros
  • Good for Gaming
  • Fast Charging
  • Robust design
Xiaomi 11i Cons
  • Bloatware
  • Average cameras
