The newly launched Xiaomi’s Mi A3 will go on sale today. The company launched the latest smartphone in India last week. The sale will begin at 12 noon IST today via Mi.com, Amazon and the authorised Mi Home Stores all over the country. The latest device is the successor of the Mi A2 that was launched last year by the company. The key specs of the device include a triple rear camera set up along with a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The handset features an HD+ screen that also has a fingerprint scanner. The Mi A3 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 SoC.

Xiaomi Mi A3 price, sale timing and offers

Xiaomi Mi A3 will go on sale today at 12 noon IST on Amazon India as well as Mi.com and the authorised Mi Home Stores. The company launched the device in two variants 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM. The price of Mi A3 has been set at Rs 12,999 for its 4GB RAM model while the 6GB RAM variant costs Rs 15,999 in India. The device comes in three colour variants More than White, Kind of Grey, Not just Blue colours.

Coming on the sale offers, on the purchase of Mi A3 the buyers can avail 750 cashback on HDFC credit card along with additional Rs 250 on EMI transactions. Additionally, Airtel subscribers will get double and unlimited calling on the recharge of Rs 249.

Xiaomi Mi A3 specifications

Xiaomi’s Mi A3 comes with a 6.08-inch HD+ (720×1560 pixels) AMOLED display along with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a waterdrop notch at the top. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. It offers64GB or 128GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card. The latest smartphone runs stock Android 9 Pie.

On the part of the camera, Mi A3 sports a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens, 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an 118-degree wide-angle f/1.79 lens, and a 2-megapixel third sensor for depth sensing. On the front, it comes with a 32-megapixel selfie camera along with an f/2.0 aperture.

Xiaomi Mi A3 has all the required connectivity options like G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It houses a 4,030mAh battery supported by an 8W fast charging.

Last week the Chinese smartphone company, Realme launched two smartphones in India. The company launched Realme 5 alongside Realme 5 Pro. Now Realme 5 is all set to go on its first sale today. The biggest selling point of the smartphone is its quad rear camera set up. Till yesterday the smartphone was on pre-orders in the country. Realme 5 price and availability and launch offers

Realme 5 is available in three storage variants 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage, 4GB/ 64GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB variant will be available at Rs 9,999, while the 4GB/ 64GB variant will be sold at Rs 10, 999 while 4GB RAM/ 128GB will costs Rs 11,999. The device will be put on sale through Flipkart as well as on the Realme website at 12 PM noon IST.

Now coming on the launch offers Jio subscriber can avail benefits worth up to Rs 7,000 on the purchase of Realme 5.  Apart from that E-commerce website, Flipkart will also be offering Complete Mobile Protection at lower rates along with Paytm’s first membership. Using Paytm the buyers will get a cashback of up to Rs 2,000.

Realme 5 features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ for protection. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC with 3GB and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone runs Color OS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie. Realme 5 is available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options that can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. It houses a 5,000mAh battery, measures 164.4×75.6×9.3mm and 198 grams in weight.

On the camera front,Realme 5 comes with a quad rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary camera (PDAF and an f/1.8 aperture), an 8-megapixel sensor (f/2.25 aperture and a 119-degree wide-angle lens), a 2-megapixel macro lens (f/2.4 aperture + 4cm focus distance) and a 2-megapixel portrait lens (f/2.4 aperture). Vivo is all set to launch a new smartphone Vivo V17 Pro. The upcoming phone will be the successor of the Vivo V15 Pro. Recently the most popular Indian reality TV Show Bigg Boss promo released. The promo gives a glimpse of the Vivo V17 Pro smartphone that is supposed to be the official sponsor of the show that will be aired next month in September.

Colors channel on its official Twitter account released the trailer of the Big Boss Season 13 showcases the new Vivo V17 Pro in the hands of the show’s host Salman Khan. The phone is displayed that has a white rear panel along with a gradient finish. Sadly the promo did not have a full glimpse of the handset. But in the end, we heard the Big Boss saying Vivo V17 Pro presents Big Boss 13.

However, we are also waiting for the official announcement by the company for the Vivo V17 Pro. Now it is confirmed that the Big Boss Season 13 will be aired next month so we can expect the company to release a trailer or make an official announcement before the show goes live.

As the launch date of the Oppo Reno 2 is coming closer more reports as well as the official trailer are pouring. The new mid-range Oppo smartphone’s specifications also leaked on the web that includes waterdrop-style display notch and gradient-finish back panel along with a quad rear camera setup supporting 20X zoom.

The Chinese smartphone company is all set to launch its upcoming smartphone on August 28 that is Wednesday. Now the company has also shared its official teaser on its Weibo account showcasing the arrival of the Oppo Reno 2 smartphone. According to the teaser, the colour options of the device has been revealed. Additionally, the teaser also confirms that the Reno 2 will debut with noise-canceling headphones. However, many of the teaser shared on the Chinese website did not reveal much about the phone except few revealing its key specifications design and the colour options it will arrive in. On of the officially shared teaser confirms that the handset will come in Ocean Heart and Misty Powder colour options.

As we mentioned earlier also one of the teasers suggests that Oppo Reno 2 will be supported by noise-canceling headphones. Moreover, the teaser also confirms that the phone will be launched in China on September 10.

 The Oppo Reno 2 will be featuring a 6.55-inch AMOLED Panoramic notch-less display with 20:9 aspect ratio along with Gorilla Glass 6 protection and 93.1 percent screen to body ratio. Reno 2will be powered by the Snapdragon 730G octa-core SoC paired with 8GB RAM. It will be offering 256GB of internal storage. The handset houses a 4,000mAh battery with VOC Flash Charge 3.0 support. The device will come with the support of a USB Type-C port for connectivity. The upcoming smartphone will arrive integrated with Game Boost 3.0, Game Assistant, and HDR10 gaming support for improved gameplay experience.

Recently the smartphone also got listed on TENAA that revealed that Oppo Reno 2 will run on Android Pie along with a quad rear camera setup that might include a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 13-megapixel secondary sensor, 8-megapixel tertiary sensor, and a 2-megapixel quaternary sensor. On the front, it is suggested to arrive with16-megapixel selfie camera and will measure 160×74.3×9.5mm and weighs 189 grams.

The budget smartphone comes with Huawei’s own processor, has a triple rear camera setup along with 32MP selfie camera. The company launched the smartphone in the country in two variants 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant.

Huawei P30 Lite discounted price and offers

When launched Huawei P30 Lite with the 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage was priced at Rs 19,990 while the 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant cost Rs 22,990. At present, the 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage is available at Rs 18,990 via Amazon India website. On the purchase of the device, the buyer will get an instant discount of Rs 1,500 if payment made through Axis bank debit and credit cards.

In addition to this, the buyers can also avail up to Rs 9,500 off on the exchange of their old mobile phone. The company is only offering 4GB RAM/ 128GB model at a discounted price while the 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant has not been listed on the e-commerce website.

Huawei P30 Lite specifications and features

The Huawei P30 Lite features a 6.15-inch Full-HD+ (1080 x 2312 pixels) LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19.3:9. The device is powered by the octa-core HilSilicon Kirin 710 SoC (4 x Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.3GHz, 4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz). Apple and Samsung have been sued over radio frequency exposure

Smartphone manufacturer Apple and Samsung have been sued because of a report that claims their smartphones emits harmful radio frequency (RF) exposure. The class-action suit was filed against both the companies in the US District Court for the Northern District of California over alleged damages and problems related to RF exposure.

According to a report by appleinsider, the case takes issue with marketing materials that claim the products operate within regulated guidelines, with neither company issuing warnings about potential negative health effects related to the allegedly high RF emissions.

“Numerous recent scientific publications, supported by hundreds of scientists worldwide, have shown that RF radiation exposure affects living organisms at levels well below most international and national guidelines,” the filing reads. “Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans.”

As per the suit, Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 and iPhone X and Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 were found to be releasing radio-frequency radiation exposure. The legal suit depends on the results of the test done by an independent study RF Exposure Lab on behalf of the Chicago Tribune.

As per the complaint previously Apple declared RF exposure information that also includes Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), for public viewing. In addition to this, the company also provided recommended the closest distance at which a user should carry the smartphone. The complaint also mentioned that with the release of iPhone 7 the company stopped providing the information.

In its defense, the company stated that “were inaccurate due to the test setup not being in accordance with procedures necessary to properly assess the iPhone models.”

“All iPhone models, including iPhone 7, are fully certified by the FCC and in every other country where iPhone is sold,” the company added. “After careful review and subsequent validation of all iPhone models tested in the (Tribune) report, we confirmed we are in compliance and meet all applicable exposure guidelines and limits.”

According to the FCC guidelines, Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is an amount of the of RF energy absorption by the body from the source being measured for a cell phone. FCC said, “Many people mistakenly assume that using a cell phone with a lower reported SAR value necessarily decreases a user’s exposure to RF emissions, or is somehow ‘safer’ than using a cell phone with a high SAR value,”

Google Nest Hub has been officially launched in India. In the beginning, it was named as Google Home Hub and was renamed at I/O 2019. The technology giant before launching the smart display in India introduced it a year back in the US on October 2018. Almost after one year, the company introduced Google Nest Hub in the country. The smart device comes with integrated with the company’s own Google Assistant that allows the user to control all the compatible device that is connected to it with the user’s voice command. Google starts rolling out a new feature that allows you to search text within photos

Google Photos is one such app that is quite popular among users. Since its inception, the app has gained a lot of popularity. Now the technology giant Google has announced on its official twitter account that it will be rolling out a new feature for its Google lens that will now allow the user to search for text within the photos as well as screenshots. Over that, the AI feature will also permit the user to copy the text that appears in the photos and paste that text onto a document or a note.

The new feature will make use of the optical character recognition (OCR) that is capable to copy text from any image. The company announced this new feature on its official twitter account when it was spotted by a user. In response to him, the company said, “You spotted it! Starting this month, we’re rolling out the ability to search your photos by the text in them. Once you find the photo you’re looking for, click the Lens button to easily copy and paste the text. Take that, impossible Wi-Fi passwords.”

Google Photos text search feature is perfect for documents as well as Wifi passwords. I-powered Lens camera identifies the context of a picture. This feature works both for Android and iOS apps along with the web client.

The latest feature is being rolled out on many devices. Read how to make use of the new Google Photos text search:

  • Unlock the Google Photos app
  • Now tap on the search bar placed on the top. Then type the text that you are searching for. For instance, you are looking for a photo that you took some time ago of a name card. All you have to do is type the name in the search bar.
  • Now Google will pull out the text found within the image then tap on it.
  • Now tap on the Google lens switch placed at the bottom of the screen.
  • Here you can find all the text highlighted in the photo or the screenshot. Now tap on the text that you searched.
  • Then copy the text.
  • Now paste the text wherever you want whether it on the document or a note or either on the web browser.

No more treats for Android users, Google will just name Android versions numerically

It was more of a treat for Android consumers when Google asked them to think of a candy/dessert name for its next Android operating system. Well, seems like it had become too much of an effort for the Alphabet-owned company to come up with a candy/dessert name with each alphabet. Also, they would have run out of alphabets in a couple of years. Which is why Google has decided to go ahead and just name the next operating system as Android 10. No alphabetical character will be attached to the system.

In a post which appeared on Google’s blog said, “This naming tradition has become a fun part of the release each year externally, too. But, we’ve heard feedback over the years that the names weren’t always understood by everyone in the global community”. The engineering team used to give dessert name to the new OS releases (internally).

The blog post defined a lot of terms are not being distinguished between in a lot of languages and some of the words used like ‘Pie” are not even a dessert. Gadget Bridge had pointed out that earlier in 2018 the same thing that Pie is not a dessert, since there are savoury pies too. Seems like Google heard that and delisted the dessert.

The blog post further says, “So, when some people heard us say Android Lollipop out loud, it wasn’t intuitively clear that it referred to the version after KitKat. It’s even harder for new Android users, who are unfamiliar with the naming convention, to understand if their phone is running the latest version,”

Also, “As a global operating system, it’s important that these names are clear and relatable for everyone in the world. So, this next release of Android will simply use the version number and be called Android 10,” it said.

So, seems like the next version of the operating systems by Google will be named numerically, Android 10. This will give them a global appeal as all languages have the numerical system. Since Android 7, the number appeal to the operating system has grown tremendously. The numerical system has been taken up by a lot of successful businesses to name its releases and OS. Take for example Microsoft Windows, which has been naming its operating systems with a numeric value and they have been successful at it. Windows 10 is a perfect example.

The key features of the smartphone include a 6.22-inch HD+ display along with a dual rear camera set up with a 13-megapixel main sensor. It houses a 3,500mAh battery with fast charging support. Recently the company also launched Lava Z62 in India a few months ago that comes with a Full View Display along with a 3,380mAh battery and a dedicated Google Assistant.

Commenting on the launch, Tejinder Singh, Head Product, Lava International said in a statement, “We are excited to introduce the Z93 for all the gamers looking for an exceptional gaming experience. The Z93 will enable users to play their favourite games seamlessly, without any lags or interruptions. Our association with Gameloft ensures an exceptional gaming experience for popular games like Modern Combat & Asphalt.”

Lava Z93 is available in two colour options Charcoal Blue and Royal Blue colour. The smartphone can be purchased at Rs 7,999. On the purchase of the device, the Jio subscribers will get an instant cashback of Rs 1,200 along with 50GB additional data. The buyers will be credited the amount in the form of 24 cashback vouchers of Rs 50 on their MyJio app. In addition, on the recharge of Rs 198 and Rs 299 prepaid plan, they will be offered an additional 4G data of 50GB. However, until now the company has not disclosed the availability details of the latest smartphone.

During the IFA tech show, Dell announced that its XPS 13 series has now been upgraded and will now offer 10th Gen Intel Core U series processors. The new model with i7 hexacore will be available from August 27. Dell XPS 13 will be offered in a 13-inches display with a new AX1650 (2×2) built on Intel WiFi 6 Chipset that offers faster wireless connectivity than the previous one.

The refreshed Dell XPS 13 range now also offers Dell CinemaColor and Dolby Vision along with an optional 4K Ultra HD InfinityEdge display.  Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 now also comes with 10th Gen CPUs and is now available for purchase at a starting price of $899 (approximately Rs64,400). The 2-in-1 is the world’s first Project Athena-verified laptop available with Intel’s new 10th Gen Core 10-nanometer silicon processors.

As said, the upgraded Dell XPS 13 comes at a starting price of $899 (approximately Rs.64, 400) and will be available from August 27. Moto One Action is now available for sale in Brazil, Mexico, and various European countries. Later it will come to Latin America, Europe and the Asia Pacific in the coming month. On the other hand, the Smartphone will reach the US and Canadian shores at the beginning of October. The company through its official blog post also shared that the phone will be based on Android One Programme while debuting in Latin America and Europe. So it is also expected to arrive in India as an Android One device as well.

Motorola One Action specifications and features

Motorola One action runs on Android 9 Pie. It is powered by octa-core Samsung Exynos 9609 SoC paired with Mali G72 MP3 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The device will be upgraded to Android Q as well as Android R along with Security updates for the duration of three years. The handset comes with a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2520 pixels) IPS CinemaVision display. It offers 128 GB of internal storage expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.

The Motorola One Action features a triple rear camera set up that consists of a 12-megapixel primary sensor along with an f/1.8 lens and an action camera with 2-micron pixel size and f/2.2 lens that supports 117-degree of Field of View (FoV). In addition to this, it also has a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.2 lens, which makes it simple to add a natural blur effect to photos. As mentioned above, the triple rear camera set up is capable of shooting Action shots and is touted to come with an ‘Enhanced Video Stabilisation‘  for reducing shakes and jerks. It is also capable of capturing landscape videos while holding the phone vertically. On the other side, it sports a 12-megapixel camera sensor with 1.25-micron pixel size and an f/2.0 lens. One Action’s connectivity options includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-Cand a 3.5mm headphone jack. The sensors include accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, fingerprint reader, magnetometer and proximity sensor. The phone houses a 3,500mAh battery that supports 10W charging. It measures 160.1×71.2×9.15mm and weighs 160 grams.

Recently Redmi’s General Manager shared a teaser of the most awaited smartphone by Xiaomi called Redmi Note 8 along with a concept-based render. And now the company has revealed the details of the upcoming device by the company’s sub-brand. The new Redmi Note 8 series of smartphones will arrive with a high screen-to-body ratio along with a bigger battery and better camera capabilities.

In addition to this, a live image of Redmi Note 8 has surfaced on the web displaying the rear panel of the device giving us the first glimpse of the smartphone sporting a glossy black finish.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand’s executive shared the details of the Note 8 on his Weibo account. According to the post, Redmi Note 8 phone might arrive with a 64-megapixel camera. To support this Weibing recently shared a short video revealing that the upcoming smartphone will be featuring a quad rear camera along with a 64MP sensor. The sensor will be supported by the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 that the company confirmed the Note 8 will come with.

Now the General Manager has also revealed that Redmi Note 8 will offer a longer battery life, which means a bigger battery. He also mentioned that the successor of the Redmi Note 7 will come with a higher screen-to-body ratio. This hints that the smartphone might feature a pop-up selfie camera, too.

On the other hand, Weibing also teased that Xiaomi will launch a 70-inch TV at an event to be held in China on August 29. In addition to this, SlashLeaks has also shared some alleged images on the Redmi Note 8. The images shared revealed the blueprint of the smartphone. As per the leaked images, the phone will be featuring a quad rear camera set up. The back panel of the device has a glossy black finish along with curved edges. Over that, the bottom of the phone features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone hole, speaker and a USB Type-C port.

How to reset your Android smartphone before you sell it

Buying a new smartphone is something that gets everyone excited. While doing enough research to buy the right offering based on our requirements is very essential, it is equally important to be sure that our old handset does not have any data. In most cases, people either choose to sell their old smartphones for a lesser value, give it to someone known for using it or use it for getting a good exchange offer on their new device. Whatever the case might be with you, you don’t want the new owner of your old smartphone to have access to your data. To make sure that they don’t, you need to reset your Android smartphone to its factory conditions before you give it away.

Although the process is a very simple one, an alarming number of people do not know how to do it. Here, we are stating all the steps that you need to follow in order to rest your Android smartphone to its factory settings. While the steps are written for Pixel 3a handset, they should be more or less the same for any other Android smartphone. Before you reset your device you must take a backup of all your data or transfer it to your new smartphone. Once your old Android smartphone has been reset to its factory conditions, there will be no way of retrieving the lost data.

Once you are ready though, you need to follow these steps to reset your Android smartphone to its factory condition:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Head to System > Advanced > Reset options.
  • You will now see three options: ‘Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth’, ‘Reset app preferences’ and ‘Erase all data (factory reset)’. Choose ‘Erase all data (factory reset)’ in order to delete all the data from your Android smartphone.
  • Once you choose the option, you will get a warning that all the data from your smartphone will be deleted and your accounts will be removed from the device too. Select the option of ‘Reset phone’ to go ahead with it.

  • In case you have set a password on your device, you will be asked to enter that too.
  • You will then be asked again if you are sure you want to delete everything. Here, just press the option of ‘Erase everything’.
  • Once you do this, it will take two or three to reset your Android device to its factory settings.

Search Engine Google started rolling out the lighter version of Google Go app

Google has finally made Go search app available for Android users across the world. Google Go is the lighter version of its search app that is quick and only 7 MB in size. At the initial stage, the search engine has made the new version of Google Go available in a small number of markets that is now available for the users on the Play Store there.

As per Sensor Towers’s report, roughly around 17.5 million times across the world the app has been installed already. The data says Indians are the highest in the percentage with 48% of users in total.

Sunder Pichai on its Twitter account shared, “Starting today, our lightweight search app #GoogleGo will be available globally on the @GooglePlay store. As demo’d at #io19, Lens in #GoogleGo can help translate and search the words you see around you, and even read them aloud.”

It can now be installed on Android devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and above. Google Go allows the user to utilise a reduced amount of storage on their phones without slowing it down. Apart from that it also provides search results as well as helps the user to retain information of their previous search results, which can be used in the future.

Previously the technology giant Google at its I/O 2019 conference displayed the Lens incorporated into the Go app and also demonstrated how it works. The integrated lens allows the user to read, translate and search for words with the use of the smartphone camera. It is also capable of translating as well as reading out to the user.

Google Go Product Manager stated “At just over 7MB, Google Go helps make sure your phone stays speedy when you are traversing the web. It also puts web versions of your favourite apps at your fingertips, giving the option of downloading fewer apps on your phone.”

In Addition to this, the app is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) that comes with a read-out-aloud feature from websites highlighted by the user.

Google Go is part of a lighter version of the Android system. Android Go OS in intended for low-powered devices in prominent markets. The Operating System also includes other lighter versions like Gallery Go, Gmail Go and YouTube Go.
