COVID-19 crisis: Fitbit launches a low-cost emergency ventilator

Fitbit has now announced it has developed a high-quality, low-cost, easy-to-use emergency ventilator called Fitbit Flow, which has obtained Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to be used during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Releasing the global need for ventilators, Fitbit applied its deep in-house expertise in advanced sensor development and hardware design to quickly create Fitbit Flow an automatic resuscitator inspired by the MIT E-Vent Design Toolbox and based on specifications for Rapidly Manufactured Ventilation Systems.

During the development and testing phase, Fitbit consulted with Oregon Health & Science University emergency medicine clinicians caring for COVID-19 patients at OHSU Hospital and worked with the MassGeneralBrigham Center for COVID Innovation working group on the design to meet the needs of practitioners.

Asserting that the COVID-19 has challenged all of mankind to push the boundaries of innovation and creativity to more rapidly develop products that support patients, James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit, said, “We saw an opportunity to rally our expertise in advanced sensor development, manufacturing, and our global supply chain to address the critical and ongoing need for ventilators and help make a difference in the global fight against this virus.”

Built on standard resuscitator bags with sophisticated instruments, sensors, and alarms that work together to support automated compressions and patient monitoring, Fitbit Flow is designed to potentially reduce the strain on specialized staff who are typically needed to operate a commercial ventilator. Other similar emergency ventilators vary in the combination of features they offer, but Fitbit believes that none delivers all of the attributes of its device at the same lower price range.

Emphasising how critical it is to develop solutions that can help ensure health systems have the equipment they need to treat COVID-19 illness, David Sheridan,MD, MCR, Assistant Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Co-Director of Emergency Clinical Innovation Oregon Health & Science University, said, “Fitbit Flow is a great example of the incredible innovation that emerges when academia and industry employ problem-based innovation to respond quickly to an important need. COVID-19 is a new illness and we still have much to learn about the progression, treatment, and potential recurrence of this disease.”

With an aim to supply these devices to health care systems around the world that do not have a sufficient number of traditional commercial ventilators. Fitbit Flow is designed to be used only when a traditional commercial ventilator is not available.

Besides this, Fitbit is in talks with state and federal agencies to understand current domestic needs for emergency ventilators both today and ahead of any future waves of the virus.

The South Korean company Samsung is on a launch spree. The company is today launching its much-awaited Samsung Galaxy A31 in India today. The device was introduced by the company months back in March. With the addition to this smartphone, the company is expanding its portfolio of most popular A-series which offer smartphones ranging from budget to mid-range segment. Galaxy A31 includes a massive 5000mAh battery, an Infinity-U design display and is powered by MediaTek Helio P65 SoC. The Samsung Galaxy A31 launch event is going to commence at 2 PM today in India via an online launch event. The launch event will be live-streamed via the company’s official YouTube channel across all its social media channels.

As per some reports Samsung Galaxy A31 is expected to come with a price tag of Rs 23,000 in the country. The company will make Galaxy A31 available in four colour variants Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush Blue, Prism Crush Red, and Prism Crush White. However, the smartphone has been listed on Flipkart prior to its launch. According to the e-commerce platform, the handset will go on sale at 3 PM onwards.

Samsung Galaxy A31 specifications

Samsung Galaxy A31 smartphone features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 1,080 x 2,400 pixels of resolution. It comes with an Infinity-U design display along with an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication.  It will run on One UI 2.0 skinned on top of Android 10 and will also include Samsung Pay.

The device is powered by an octa-core processor with two cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and six at a 1.7GHz frequency speculated to be MediaTek Helio P65 SoC. The smartphone will be offered in two variants 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 512GB using an external SD card.

For photos, Samsung Galaxy A31 comes with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Further assisted by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 5megapixel depth sensor with /2.4 aperture and lastly a 5megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there will be a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The smartphone houses a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. It measures 73.1 x 159.3 x 8.6 mm and weighs in at 185 grams.

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has finally announced the launch of its latest smartphones in the market under its Play series, The company has introduced Honor Play 4 and Honor Play 4 Pro in China. Both the smartphone supports 5G connectivity and fast charging tech. The phone features a hole-punch display design and the Pro model comes with an interesting yet much-needed feature for measuring body temperature. There is a dedicated infrared (IR) sensor at the rear panel that helps in detecting the early and the most common symptom of COVID-19.

Honor Play 4 and Honor Play 4 Pro pricing

Honor Play 4 and has been launched in two variants 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option at  CNY 1,799 that translates to Rs  19,100. Whereas the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model is available at CNY 1,999 that translates to Rs 21,200. The device is available in  Magical Night Black, Phantom Blue, and Iceland Illusion colour options. It is scheduled to go on sale in China on June 12 onwards.

Honor Play 4 Pro  8GB + 128GB storage variant has been priced at  CNY 2,899 that translates to Rs 30,800. While the one with IR sensor is available at  CNY 2,999 that translates to Rs  31,800. It is offered in Magical Night Black, Mecha Blue, and Iceland Illusion colour options and will be available for purchase starting June 9.

Honor Play 4 specifications

Honor Play 4  features a  6.81-inch full-HD+ TFT display with 1,080×2,400 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio and 386ppi pixel density. The phone runs on Magic UI 3.1 on top of Android 10. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800 processor with Mali G57 MC4 GPU for graphics being offered with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 512GB by using a microSD card. The handsets boast a 4,300mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging.

For optics, the smartphone comes with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.89 aperture. Further assisted by secondary  8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, dual 2-megapixel sensors with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie camera with  f/2.0 aperture.

Under the hood, there is an octa-core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 990 processor with Mali-G76 GPU for graphics. It will be offered with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The smartphone packs a   4,200mAh battery with 40W fast charging support.

For imaging, there is a dual rear camera setup housing a 40-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there is a  dual selfie camera setup that includes a 32-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture. 

Another model that comes with a dedicated IR sensor for measuring body temperature with all the similar specifications and camera details.

Xiaomi backed company Huami has introduced its new smartwatch in India. The company has launched Huami Amazfit Bip S smartwatch in the country that comes with whopping 40-day battery life, coloured display, personal activity tracking, and a number of sports modes. The device comes with built-in GPS. To recall the smartwatch was introduced at CES 2020 earlier this year.

Huami Amazfit Bip S smartwatch has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 4,999. The smart wearable will be available for purchase via the company’s official website in the country along with other leading e-commerce websites including Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra. In the past, after the introduction at CES 2020, the Huami Amazfit Bip S was launched in the US market at  $69.90 that translated to Rs 5,300.

The Amazfit Bip S is the successor to Amazfit Bip that was launched last year. The successor has gone with the design as the predecessor. It comes with a 1.28-inch transflective colour TFT display. Additionally, there is a variety of sensors such as BioTracker PPG optical sensor, three-axis acceleration, and a three-axis geomagnetic sensor. These sensors enable fitness and sleep monitoring features.

Huami Amazfit offers 10 sports modes on the watch that includes a treadmill, outdoor running, walking, indoor cycling, outdoor cycling, open water, pool, yoga, elliptical trainer, and freestyle. The wearable device also comes integrated with heart-rate tracking and heart-rate warning features along with an always-on display functionality allowing the users to view time and date as they lift their wrist.

In addition to this, there is an inbuilt GPS tracker and GLONASS for satellite-based route tracking. It comes with a 200mAh battery that delivers up to 30 days of battery life and 90 days of standby on a single charge. On minimal usage, it is claimed to last up to 40 days of the charge. The smartwatch is compatible with devices running on  Android 5.0 or iOS 10 later.

Google shows solidarity with the Black community

On 31st May, Google and YouTube homepages had shared the US-based tech giant’s support for racial equality in solidarity with the Black community and in memory of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and others who don’t have a voice. Asserting that for those feeling grief, anger, sadness and fear, Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Alphabet, said, “You are not alone.”

Later in an email sent by Sundar Pichai to Google employees, the CEO of Google and Alphabet said, “I realize that nothing about this week feels like business as usual—and it shouldn’t. Our Black community is hurting, and many of us are searching for ways to stand up for what we believe, and reach out to people we love to show solidarity.”

In an 8-minute-and-46-second moment of silence at 1 p.m. PDT on June 3 (which translated to 1:30 a.m. IST on June 4), Pichai along with Googlers stood together to honour the memories of Black lives lost. Mind you! The length of the moment of silence represents the amount of time George Floyd suffered before he was killed. It’s meant to serve as a visceral reminder of the injustice inflicted on Floyd and many others like him. With this, Pichai said that he wanted to provide space for all to come together as a community.

Pichai further added that Google acknowledges that racism and violence may look different in different parts of the world. Therefore, coming together as a community and showing support is important, but it isn’t enough. However, the 48-year-old also announced a few initial commitments to meet the urgency of the moment.

According to the email sent by Sundar Pichai to Google employees, “We’ll be giving $12 million in funding to organizations working to address racial inequities. Our first grants of $1 million each will go to our long-term partners at the Center for Policing Equity and the Equal Justice Initiative. And we’ll be providing technical support through our Google.org Fellows program. This builds on the $32 million we have donated to racial justice over the past five years. We’ll also offer $25 million in Ad Grants to help organizations fighting racial injustice provide critical information.”

Moreover, Pichai also shared that Googlers have also contributed an additional $2.5 million in donations as a result of last week’s internal giving campaign that Google is matching. This represents the largest Googler giving campaign in the company’s history, with both the largest amount raised by employees and the broadest participation.

Asserting that the events of the past few weeks reflect deep structural challenges, Pichai stated that Google will work closely with the Black community to develop initiatives and product ideas that support long-term solutions. As part of this effort, the tech giant also welcome your ideas on how to use its products and technology to improve access and opportunity.

Oppo Find X2 series is all set to launch in India on June 17

The Chinese smartphone company Oppo is all set to arrive with another new smartphone series in the Indian market. The company has confirmed the arrival of the Oppo Find X2 series in the country on June 17. Last month the company also teased that the device might get launched in India but now the company has confirmed the final launch date for its upcoming product. It’s been quite a few months since the official announcement of Oppo’s flagship. The device is going to compete with Xioami’s Mi 10 and OnePlus 8 series. The Find X2 series includes two smartphones Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro, both the flagship models are powered by Snapdragon 865 SoC. It features 120Hz refresh rate display and a 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging tech.

According to the company, Oppo Find X2 series is scheduled to get launched on June 17 in India. The media invite revealed that the launch event will begin at 4 PM which is expected to be live-streamed across all its social media channels. However, until now no launch event details have been shared. We will update it as soon as the company shares the details so stay tuned.

Oppo Find X2 series expected price

Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro were launched in March. The vanilla variant was introduced in 12GB RAM and 256GB storage at EUR 999 that translates to Rs 83,400. The device is offered in two colour options Black (Ceramic) and Ocean (Glass). Whereas the Pro variant comes in 12GB RAM and 512GB storage with a price tag of EUR 1,199 that translates to Rs 1,67,300. It is available in Black (Ceramic) and Orange (Vegan Leather) colour options.

Oppo Find X2 comes with a 6.7-inch QHD+ Ultra Vision display with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. It runs on ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage.

For cameras, there is a triple rear camera set up that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 12-megapixel secondary sensor and a 13-megapixel tertiary lens. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Oppo Find X2 Pro specifications

Oppo Find X2 Pro runs on ColorOS 7.1 on top of Android 10. It features a 6.7-inch QHD+ Ultra Vision display offering a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. 

In terms of cameras, Oppo Find X2 Pro comes with a triple rear camera setup includes a 48-megapixel main camera, a secondary 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with 120 degrees of field view and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens.

Facebook introduced Manage Activity feature to clean out your old embarrassing posts: Here is a guide on how to delete your Facebook posts

Every now and then the popular social networking website Facebook comes up with new features on its platform for its users. Keeping in view of the user’s privacy, last month the company rolled out Lock Your Profile settings on the social media website. Now Facebook has introduced another important update allowing users to delete their old posts, which they do not like or find embarrassing. Facebook has announced that soon the Manage Activity feature will be available for the users to blot out their old post, which they now regret posting then. 

While announcing the feature the company said, “Whether you’re entering the job market after college or moving on from an old relationship, we know things change in people’s lives, and we want to make it easy for you to curate your presence on Facebook to more accurately reflect who you are today. That’s why we’re launching Manage Activity to help you archive or trash old posts, all in one place.”

You can easily find this particular option inside the “Go to Activity log” option. After which you can easily filter out your old posts according to category, date and people. For instance, you could archive a post you made when you were in high school that you still find amusing but that you’d rather not be seen by anyone else on Facebook. 

According to the company, the archive feature is for the content you no longer want others to see on Facebook, but that you still want to keep for yourself. This feature also allows you to move your posts you no longer want to the trash. Those posts which you have a mode to trash will be available till 30 days before being deleted or else you can manually choose to delete or restore them before then, in case you change your mind about deleting old posts. 

The Manage activity feature on Facebook allows you to manage your lots of old posts without having to take the pain of scrolling down to the end to delete a particular or lot of posts in bulk. This filter allows you to view and sort out the old post you have been looking for such as posts with specific people or from a specific date range.

According to the company, it will be initially available on mobile as well as Facebook Lite application. “Updated on June 2, 2020, at 1:52 PM PT to clarify that Manage Activity is available on Facebook Lite today.” the company stated. The feature will be rolled out later for the desktop platform confirmed by the company.

How to delete your old Facebook posts?

  • Firstly login into your Facebook account
  • Now go to your profile page, under your profile name you will find Go to the Activity log.
  • Tap on that option and then click on Manage Posts
  • Now you will see three options: Filter, Archives and Trash. Out of the three options tap on Filters
  • Now you can filter out your posts as per category, date and people.
  • Now delete posts or photos which you wanted to wipe out from your profile. But you cannot delete a post which has been posted by someone else. To remove it you can either untag yourself or simply request your friend to drop the post of photos.

Vivo X50 series to launch in India soon

Vivo X50 Pro+, Vivo X50 Pro and Vivo X50 have gone official this week in China. The Vivo X50 series is ready to get launched in India very soon. The company’s CEO, Jerome Chen has revealed this through his Facebook post however he did not reveal the exact timeline for the India launch. The new Vivo series comes with 5G support aligned with a hole-punch design display and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Vivo India Chief Jerome Chen took to Facebook to announce the arrival of its just-launched Vivo X50 series. His FB post reads, Light up the cities. X50 Series is coming on 1st June. Coming to India soon… Stay tuned!” He also did share some sample images taken from one of the smartphones from the series showcasing the camera capabilities of the devices.

Vivo X50 series expected pricing 

Vivo X50 has been launched in two variants:

8GB RAM + 128GB storage – CNY 3,498 that translates to Rs 37,100.

8GB RAM + 256GB storage – CNY 3,898 that translates to Rs  41,300.

The device comes in Black Mirror, Shallow and Liquid Oxygen colour options. 

The Vivo X50 Pro will be available in:

8GB RAM + 128GB storage option at CNY 4,298 that translates to Rs 45,600

 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option at CNY 4,698 that translates to Rs  49,800

It comes in two colour options Black Mirror and Liquid Oxygen.

Lastly, the Vivo X50 Pro+ has been introduced in:

8GB RAM + 128GB storage option at CNY 4,998 that translates to Rs  53,000

All the devices under the series run on Android 10 based Funtouch OS 10.5. Both Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor coupled with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The phones feature a 6.56-inch full-HD+ AMOLED curved-edged display with 90Hz refresh rate support. Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro pack a 4,200mAh battery and 4,315mAh battery with 33W fast charging support respectively.

Whereas Vivo X50 Pro+ is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 with  12GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage. The 5G smartphone features a 6.56-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device boasts a 4,315mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. In terms of cameras, all the phones come with quad rear camera setups. The difference is both Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro comes with a 48-megapixel primary sensor while the elder sibling features a 50-megapixel main camera sensor. While on the front all the smartphone sports a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

OnePlus Z to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G and 12GB of RAM, as revealed by Geekbench listing

We already know that the Chinese premium smartphone company OnePlus is expected to announce OnePlus Z next month. This is going to be the company’s budget-friendly device after the launch of the expensive OnePlus 8 series. The mobile phone has now been benchmarked on Geekbench. In the past, some reports claimed that the tentatively called OnePlus 8 Lite will be powered by  MediaTek Dimensity 1000. However now the company has switched to Qualcomm Snapdragon instead. In fact, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G powered device has been revealed on the new Geekbench listing.

This fresh Geekbench listing has been spotted with an OnePlus device bearing the model number ‘AC2003′ indicating to be the rumoured OnePlus Z aka OnePlus 8 Lite. The mysterious OnePlus smartphone has scored 612 and 1,955 points on the single-core and multi-core tests respectively. The WinFuture report revealed that the said phone is going to run on Android 10. It is likely to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.8GHz. OnePlus Z is expected to come in a 12GB RAM variant for the top-end model. The citing also revealed the codename for the motherboard as  ‘lito,’ which matches up with another Geekbench listing for Oppo Reno 4. According to the listing, Reno 4 is going to draw its power by the same Snapdragon 765G SoC.

Other than 12GB RAM the device is expected to be offered in lower and mid-range models as well, which could be 6GB and 8GB RAM. Recently in an interview, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau hinted that OnePlus is going to introduce a new affordable device that is going to make its debut first in the Indian market.

As per the leaked hands-on image, the upcoming OnePlus Z smartphone is expected to arrive with a punch-hole design display housing a selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is going to feature an AMOLED panel and a high-refresh-rate screen is also expected.

Moving ahead, OnePlus Z is said to come with a price tag of GBP 400 that comes to around Rs 37,822 roughly. However, the India pricing might differ from the other counties.

Previous leaks suggest that OnePlus Z/OnePlus 8 Lite might feature a centrally placed hole-punch for the selfie camera and with a 90Hz refresh rate supported display. Over that, tt is expected to sport a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone will run on Android 10 OS. The camera details include a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP secondary lens, and a tertiary 12MP sensor. It is said to come with a 4,000mAh battery with 30T Warp fast-charging support. The smartphone is rumoured to be offered in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage options.

Know why Facebook employees staged protest against Mark Zuckerberg on Twitter

After Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg denied to act against US President Donald Trump’s post “when the looting starts, shooting starts”, several employees of this social networking giant registered a virtual protest on Twitter asserting that Trump’s post on Facebook could result in violence. In this rare protest, the Facebook workers changed with official profile pictures on Twitter.

The virtual protest by Facebook employees took place after Twitter had labelled Trump’s tweet for violating the Twitter Rules about glorifying violence. However, Twitter had determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.

In the labelled tweet, Trump highlighted the protests and riots taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota after the death of George Floyd in police custody on Monday. Calling the protesters “thugs”, the US President tweeted, “Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!”

When the hidden tweet was reposted later by the official White House Twitter account, Twitter had once again labelled the post. According to a CNET report, “A Twitter spokesperson on Friday confirmed that it covered the identical tweet with a label because of the historical context of the last line, its connection to violence, and the risk it could inspire similar actions today.”

On the other hand, Facebook employees organized a virtual protest on Monday by walkout of office as they took a day off from work to join protest to show solidarity against Trump’s post. A report by The New York Times stated that  the Facebook workers has also scheduled an automated message with their emailers stating that they were out of the office to show to show their support for demonstrators across the United States and that they do not go in line with the company’s position on Trump’s posts.

Tencent Games on Monday rolled out the Mysterious Jungle mode on PUBG Mobile. Prior to this, it released a new event called Summerland that is based on the current weather conditions Summers. The latest event brings exciting surprises such as rewards, fun-filled activities within the event. The developers have now explained all the events as well as the rewards of the Summerland event.

According to the company all the events which come under the PUBG Mobile’s Summerland event  have a certain time limit, below is the list of activities that are still available: 

  • To begin with, the players are only required to complete log-in missions for a chance to win exciting rewards. Each day when the players log-in it increases their chances of winning exciting rewards. The event is now live and will be available until June 4. We have listed down rewards that can be won each day:

Login 1 day：Classic Coupon Scrap 

Login 2 days：Killer Smile – DP2

Login 3 days：Classic Crate Voucher

Login 4 days：Crate Companion Parachute

When you collect all the seven Totem Fragments it can then be used to redeem the final reward. The event rewards include Battle Points, Ace Gold, and Summertime Hawaiian Shirt.
  • For online reward, the event will be live from June 4 to June 11. This is a time-consuming event to collect various rewards. In a day one can spend a total of 20 minutes in the game to win corn cover. To win a Corn suit one must spend a total of 30 minutes. On spending 40 minutes in the game the player can win Jungle M416.
  • Another vent is the Lucky Egg which will be hosted from June 12 to June 23. The plates have to complete three missions each day to win Lucky Hammers to smash eggs. To purchase Lucky Hammers one can also spend 30 UC. On completing all the three missions you get a chance to win an extra reward. Remember to make use of all hammers within the time period of the event as they will not be usable post the event period.  The event rewards will be issued via in-game mail plates must make enough space in their mailbox.   • The  Daily Deal Pack has also been extended from June 17 to July 1st. These scraps can be redeemed for corresponding Rainforest-themed outfit rewards on the Event Page. Each player is allowed to redeem only one reward once. Special deals are also available on the purchase of the first Pack. The following rewards can be won: Rewards: Packs (each with Classic Coupon Scrap x1, Supply Crate Coupon Scrap x1, and Event Scrap x1), redeemable rewards (Forest Warrior Headgear, Forest Warrior Set, Leprechaun Hat, Leprechaun Set, Luau Wreath and Luau Set).
  • Last but not least is the Sanhok Relic Hunt is the final event of Summerland which will begin from June 24 and will end on July 6. In this event, the players are required to complete Daily Missions to obtain Mysterious Feather. Also, Treasure Maps can be obtained from random places in matches. Whereas  Mysterious Feathers can be retrieved following the coordinates of Treasure Maps and be brought out of matches, which then can be redeemed for rewards in the Event Page. NASA SpaceX Demo-2 mission: Astronauts Behnken and Hurley are getting up to speed with International Space Station system

After the SpaceX Crew Dragon arrived the International Space Station this Sunday, two new NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken are getting up to speed with space station systems and operations on their first full day as Expedition 63 crewmates.

NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken are also unpacking the Crew Dragon vehicle and integrating its systems with the space station. The newly-expanded Expedition 63 crew will now be ramping up microgravity research in the coming days and weeks.

In a news conference, the duo joined NASA Commander Chris Cassidy, who has been on orbit since April 9, to discuss about the historical nature of the first crewed Dragon mission, as revealed in an official blog post by the US space agency. As both Hurley and Behnken had earlier been a part of two space shuttle missions, the duo also described the differences between the Dragon crew ship and the now-retired shuttles. On the other hand, veteran astronaut Cassidy, who majorily spent time on ongoing lab maintenance activities, serviced research hardware and plumbing gear throughout Monday. Mind you! Cassidy also flew on two previous shuttle missions.

The two Roscosmos cosmonauts, Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Vagner, focused on science and routine operations in the Russian segment of the orbiting lab. They joined their NASA crewmates in the morning to review Crew Dragon emergency procedures. Afterward, the duo explored advanced Earth photography techniques and ways to improve space exercise.

Behnken is the joint operations commander for the mission, responsible for activities such as rendezvous, docking and undocking, as well as Demo-2 activities while the spacecraft is docked to the space station. He was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2000 and has completed two space shuttle flights. Behnken flew STS-123 in March 2008 and STS-130 in February 2010, performing three spacewalks during each mission. On the other hand, Hurley is the spacecraft commander for Demo-2, responsible for activities such as launch, landing and recovery. He was selected as an astronaut in 2000 and has completed two spaceflights. Hurley served as pilot and lead robotics operator for both STS‐127 in July 2009 and STS‐135, the final space shuttle mission, in July 2011.

At the conclusion of the mission, Behnken and Hurley will board Crew Dragon, which will then autonomously undock, depart the space station, and re-enter Earth’s atmosphere. Upon splashdown off Florida’s Atlantic coast, the crew will be picked up by the SpaceX recovery ship and returned to the dock at Cape Canaveral.

With Valorant 1.0 launching, all queries and doubts have finally been answered. The latest agent to join Valorant is Reyna—straight from the heart of Mexico. Besides this, what more is new is that Ascent, an open playground for small wars of position and attrition, enters the map pool as well as Spike Rush (beta) arrives to deliver a fresh and more hectic flavour of Valorant. Gamers of Asia-Pacific region can play the game as it is already live.

Sage, Omen, Phoenix, Raze and Jett all received a decent share of buffs and nerfs respectively to get them ready for launch. This patch also targeted the framerate drops some of you were getting during combat. The devil’s in the details, but know that getting performance where we want for all players is an ongoing process we hope to nail down in the next few patches.

In the Valorant 1.0 Beginner’s Guide, the creators have revealed that before a gamer enters the first round, he/she needs to pick their own role and special skills from a group of Agents that are designed to work alongside each other toward a win. The newly-launched Ascent, which is a map set in Italy, features a large, open middle area that both teams can skirmish over. Mid is a playground for diverse ability use and successfully controlling the area opens additional routes for Attackers to both Spike sites.

As far as Competitive Mode update is concerned, a blog post by Volarant 1.0 stated, “Similar to our closed beta launch, our initial focus is making sure our service is stable before activating competitive matchmaking. This is also a way to give new players the same courtesy that closed beta players had to learn the game ahead of turning on Competitive. We’ll also make some adjustments to Competitive based on remaining closed beta player feedback. Our plan is to turn on Competitive a few patches into our launch.”

In order to fix a number of performance issues, the team focussed on the framerate dips that players sometimes experience in combat. It was revealed that simpler scenarios, where very little is happening, may not see the same dramatic gains in FPS. These improvements should help the game feel smoother, especially in combat situations on higher-end PCs.

Samsung’s M series is expanding. The South Korean smartphone company today announced the launch of its two new smartphones is the series namely Samsung Galaxy M11 and Galaxy M01 in India. While the M11 is the successor to last year’s  Galaxy M10 smartphone, M01 has made its first debut in the company’s most successful series. Both the smartphones have been launched under the budget segment that runs on One UI based on Android 10 and is supported by Dolby Atmos.

Samsung Galaxy M11 has been launched in two variants 3GB RAM with 32GB storage option at Rs 10,999 whereas the  4GB RAM with 64GB storage model has been priced at Rs 12,999. It will be available in Black, Metallic Blue, and Violet colour options. 

Samsung Galaxy M01 will be offered in a single 3GB RAM with 32GB storage option with a price tag of Rs 8,999. It will be available in three colour options  Black, Blue, and Red. Both the devices will be up for sale in the country via all the leading e-commerce websites that also includes Amazon, Flipkart and Samsung India eStore starting 3 PM onwards. The mobile phones will also be available via offline retailers also.

Samsung Galaxy M11 specifications

Samsung Galaxy M11 features a 6.4-inch HD+ Infinity-O Display with 720×1560 pixels of resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The device runs on  One UI 2.0 on top of Android 10 and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor paired with up to  4GB RAM and up to 64GB of storage. The internal storage is expandable via microSD card up to 512GB.

For photos, there is a triple rear camera set up that comprises a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a  5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a  2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it sports an  8-megapixel selfie camera with  f/2.0 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy M01 comes with a 5.71-inch HD+ TFT Infinity-V Display with 720×1560 pixels of resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone runs on One UI 2.0 based on top of Android 10. The mobile phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset coupled with a 3GB RAM with 32GB storage which can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.

On the camera front, Galaxy M01 comes with a dual rear camera set up that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a secondary 2-megapixel sensor with  f/2.4  aperture. For selfie, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. In terms of connectivity, there is a 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It packs a 4,000mAh battery which does not support fast charging tech.

How to enable Touch ID to secure your iPhone and iPad: Tutorial 

Using a Touch ID to unlock your Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad or apps is the most convenient way than entering passwords every time you unlock your phone. Because it had to remember passwords so Apple’s Touch ID is the easiest way to unlock iPhone, authorize purchases and payments, and sign in to many third-party apps by pressing the Home button with your finger or thumb. 

So before we proceed lets first know what Touch ID is and how it works?

So Touch ID is basically a fingerprint identity sensor and Apple has named it  Touch ID which can be used for biometric authentication to unlock a device as well as apps. It is better than remembering a password to unlock your device. But if you tend to forget passwords then we would suggest you to use Touch ID instead. As already said you do not need to enter a password you can just unlock your device or app using your fingerprint because everyone has a unique fingerprint. However, it is a faster way to unlock your device but not as safe as a password. It can be used at your convenience but not for security purposes

Also, it gets automatically turned off in various situations such as if left unused for 48 hours in that case you are required to enter passcode or password to enable it again. Secondly, after you reboot or reset your device again you need to enter your password to enable it. Thirdly after five failed attempts in a row, if a remote lock has been sent via Find my iPhone or Find my Mac and when the user has not used passcode to unlock the device in six days.

Before you set up Touch ID, you need to create a password for your device. To enable it, go to Touch ID and Passcode. Then turn password on, now enter a  six-digit passcode or else you can switch to a four-digit numeric code, a custom numeric code, or a custom alphanumeric code. Lastly, enter your passcode again to confirm it and activate it. Then follow these steps:

  • Before setting up make sure that the Home button and your finger are clean and dry.
  • Tap on Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, now enter your passcode.
  • Then tap on Add a Fingerprint and hold your device as you normally would when touching the Home button.
  • Don’t press just touch the Home button with your finger. Lift your finger when you feel a quick vibration, or until you’re asked to.
  • Continue to lift and rest your finger slowly, making small adjustments to the position of your finger each time.
  • The next screen asks you to adjust your grip. Hold your device as you normally would when unlocking it, and touch the Home button with the outer areas of your fingertip, instead of the centre portion that you scanned first. You can also try another finger if you have trouble enrolling one finger.

How to enable Touch ID to unlock your iPhone or make purchases

The touch ID can be used instead of a password to make purchases in the iTunes Store, App Store, and Apple Books. Follow the steps to know how to enable it:

  • To turn on Touch ID for iTunes and App Store go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode. If you can’t turn it on, you might need to sign in with your Apple ID in Settings > iTunes & App Store.
  • Now open the apps iTunes Store, App Store, or Apple Books to buy something it will then ask you to use Touch ID.
  • Touch the Home button lightly.

Similarly, Touch ID can be used to make Apple Pay purchases in stores within apps, and on websites in Safari. You can also use Touch ID on your iPhone to complete website purchases from your Mac. If you have an iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 or iPad Mini 3 or later, you can use Touch ID for Apple Pay purchases within apps and on websites in Safari.

Oppo Reno 4 and the Oppo Reno 4 Pro with 5G support confirmed to get launch on June 5

In the past, we have already come across lots of leaks and rumours with regard to the upcoming lineup of Oppo Reno 4 smartphones. The upcoming Reno series is the successor of Reno 3 just arrived in March this year and now the company has finally confirmed that it is coming on June 5. The Oppo Reno 4 series is going to include two smartphones Oppo Reno 4 and the Oppo Reno 4 Pro however ahead of the official launch the device has been listed on the Chinese retailer website JD.com for pre-orders.

The  Chinese smartphone company Oppo took to the Chinese microblogging website Weibo to tease the arrival of Oppo Reno 4 series. The company has shared a short video teaser revealing the form factor of the decisive from all the sides. The device is confirmed to come with 5G capabilities and with a 65W super flash charge tech. Additionally, the camera set up on the phone would also include a Super night scene video that confirms Super Night Mode feature. The Reno 4 series is scheduled to get launched on June 5, Friday.

Both Oppo Reno 4 and the Oppo Reno 4 Pro are going to feature a  “Reno Glow” moniker on its rear panel. In addition to this, it is going to sport a triple rear camera set up aligned vertically on the left top corner just like the recently launched LG Velvet smartphone. It is confirmed to come with 5G support and a hole punch design display. The official information is really scarce but recently both the smartphones were spotted on the Chinese regulatory website TENAA where most of the specifications have been revealed. As per the listing both Oppo Reno 4 and the Oppo Reno 4 Pro will feature a 6.43-inch AMOLED display and 6.55-inch AMOLED display respectively. Reno 4 is tipped to come with a dual punch-hole design display whereas the Pro model with a single hole-punch display.

In addition to this, both the phones are listed to feature a triple rear camera set up. Both the smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor for 5 capabilities. Both the mobile phones will be offered in two variants  8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage respectively. It is tipped to run on ColourOS 7.1 on top of Android 10 OS. Moreover, Reno 4 is suggested to boast a 4,000mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC fast charging support.

In terms of camera capabilities, Reno 4 is said to include triple cameras on the back panel with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel wide-angle-camera lens, and a 2-megapixel portrait sensor. Whereas the Pro model is expected to come with a 48-megapixel primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization, a 12-megapixel low-light video camera and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. Both the smartphones are said to include a 32-megapixel selfie camera house inside a punch-hole design display.

In Google’s latest “Feature Drop” for pixel smartphones, the tech giant has announced that it is bringing latest updates to the Personal Safety app, Adaptive Battery improvements along with new Bedtime feature in Clock.

As new pixel features have dropped, Google Pixel user get more options to keep themselves safe in an emergency. In a blog post, Google revealed that The Personal Safety app on Pixel 4 will now be available on all Pixel devices and car crash detection is also coming to Pixel 3.

“We’re introducing new safety features, too, like safety check, which schedules a check-in from the app at a later time. For example if you’re about to go on a run or hike alone, safety check will make sure you made it back safely. If you don’t respond to the scheduled check-in, the app will alert your emergency contacts. In the event that you need immediate help or are in a dangerous situation, emergency sharing notifies all of your emergency contacts and shares your real-time location through Google Maps so they can send help or find you,” Tok Tokuda, Technical Program Manager at Google, stated in a blog post.

Moreover, Google Pixel users can enable crisis alerts in the Personal Safety app to get notifications about natural disasters or other public emergencies to be ultra-prepared.

Apart from updates to the Personal Safety apps, Google has also features Adaptive Battery improvements for its Pixel phones. The tech giant notifies that Adaptive Battery already learns your favourite apps and reduces power to the ones you rarely use. Now, Adaptive Battery on Pixel 2 and newer devices can predict when your battery will run out and further reduce background activity to keep your Pixel powered longer. Isn’t this helpful?

Google has also tried to make bedtime better in this new feature rollout. It notified, “The new bedtime feature in Clock helps you maintain a consistent sleep schedule and strike a better balance with your screen time each night.” This feature will help Google Pixel users fall asleep to calming sounds by limit interruptions. However, the users will get a snapshot of how much time they are spending awake and on which apps if they stay up on their phone past bedtime. Addition, the Sunrise Alarm can help the users wake up with their favourite track or with a gradually brighter screen

Lastly, Google stated that the Recorder app now enables the Pixel users to start, stop and search voice recordings via the new Google Assistant. All they need to do is simply say, “Hey Google, start recording my meeting” or “Hey Google, show me recordings about dogs.” Moreover, Google Pixel users can even save a transcript directly to Google Docs to make it easier to share with others.

Amazon has been doing great with its voice-based AI/Assistant — Alexa. Integrated with various devices. The company keeps on working on it to make it more smarter and user friendly by updating it with more skills on its voice assistance service. Now as the new update rolls out it brings the Drop-in feature to it allowing it to talk with all other connected Echo Devices or two-way communication. However, in the past, it could only send a message to another connected echo device at a time.

But now with the rollout of the new update using the Drop-in feature, it can send messages to all the connected devices at once. This would help the user to make an announcement from the kitchen when the dinner is ready. Drop-In for all of your devices – Customers can now use group Drop In to instantly connect all of their Echo devices into a group conversation. Simply say, “Alexa, drop in on all devices” to start an audio intercom call to have conversations like “what should we have for dinner?” or “Does anyone want anything from the grocery store?”

Reminders on all devices – In a similar way another feature reminder has been added to the Alexa devices. This allows the user to set a reminder to be played across all the devices while setting choosing for “all devices”. The feature is currently available in the US allowing them to get reminders to play across all their Alexa devices, a frequently requested feature. As per the company in the Alexa app, customers can choose “All devices” when creating an individual reminder or enable the feature for all reminders by going to Settings > Reminders and opting into “Announce on all devices.”

Photo sharing and reaction- Another important feature it received id now you can easily share photos with your Alexa contacts from your Echo Show and the Alexa app. Now, when someone shares a photo with you, you can send a reaction back by choosing one of three animated emoji options, including “laugh,” “love,” and “wow.”

Daily Music Pick – Amazon Music revealed Daily Music Pick, a new Alexa feature in which artists provide customers with daily music recommendations. Just say “Alexa, play the Daily Music Pick” and each day a new artist will select a song, album, or playlist that they’ve been enjoying at home. Artists featured on the skill have included Latin superstar Bad Bunny, Pete Wentz, Kelsea Ballerini, Brendan Benson, and more.

Currently, there are a slew of Alexa devices available in India and many smartphones can also be controlled using the Alexa Voice Assistant service. The Amazon Echo Studio can be purchased at Rs 22,999 whereas the Echo Show comes at Rs 16,999. Other devices with display include the Echo Show 8 at Rs 7,999 and Echo Show 5 at Rs 5,999. The Echo Dot can be purchased at Rs 3,499, the Echo Input retails at Rs 3,999 whereas Echo and the Echo Plus comes with a price tag of Rs 9,799 and Rs 9,999 respectively.

Mi Notebook scheduled to launch in India on June 11, Xiaomi confirmed

The Chinese electronic brand Xiaomi is all set to arrive with a new laptop series in India. Yes, finally Mi Notebook is finally making its way to the Indian Market on June 11. Xiaomi has finally confirmed the arrival of its much-awaited laptops. Manu Kumar Jain revealed that the new Mi Notebook will be exclusively available in India only keeping in mind the demands of the India consumers.

Soon Xioami is going to foray into the laptop category in India. According to the company on June 11 the company is going to unveil Mi Notebook in the country. Whereas the Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain also confirmed the launch of its upcoming new product on Monday via Twitter. According to Mr Jain, the laptop will be India-exclusive and is going to make its India debut next week. He says that the upcoming Mi  Notebook has been made keeping the Indian customers in mind. His tweet reads, “he brand new #MiNotebook will make its #Global #Debut in #India and will be: India 1st, India exclusive, Made for India Block the date: 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐄 𝟏𝟏.”

The company also shared a teaser image giving us the first glimpse of the upcoming Mi Notebook model. It is confirmed to feature narrow but noticeable bezels. However not much has been revealed but as the launch date starts approaching more details will start pouring in. According to the company, the launch event will be live-streamed all its social media handles including Mi.com via its official YouTube Channel. The launch event will begin at 12 noon onwards IST. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the company will take the support of online launch event only.

According to some leaks, the upcoming Mi Notebook model is going to be a rebranded variant of RedmiBook 13 to be launched with different branding. It is expected to be the one that was launched last year in 2019 that comes with the 10th generation Intel processors.

As we mentioned earlier the information is scarce but the device is likely to support 1C fast charging tech that is capable of charging the laptop from zero to 50 percent in 35 minutes. So there is a high possibility that Mi laptop could come with similar specification as of RedmiBook 13.

To recall the 2019 model of RedmiBook 13 comes with a 13.3-inch Full HD anti-glare display with narrow 4.65mm bezels offering 1920 x 1080 pixels of resolution with 178-degree wide-viewing angle and 250 nits maximum brightness.

Ít is being offered in multiple configurations of 10th gen Intel Core i5-10510U processor and 10th gen Intel Core i7-10510U chipset coupled with 2GB NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics and GB DDR4 RAM with 512GB SSD storage.

The laptop features a chiclet keyboard with a 1.3 mm keystroke travel which is supported by  Microsoft PTP trackpad. It offers a 40 watt-hour battery supported by 1C fast charging technology bundled with a 65W power adapter. The RedmiBook weighs 1.23 Kgs and is 16.3 mm thin.

Sony has finally put all speculations to rest after the Japanese conglomerate announced that its PlayStation 5 (PS5) games reveal event is slated to take place on June 4 at 1pm PDT (which translates to 1:30 am IST on June 5) to see what’s in store for the next generation of games. PS5 fans could watch the event live at on Twitch or YouTube.

Since last 25 years. the mission of the PlayStation brand has been to try and deliver better experiences for the gaming community. Be it launch of the first PlayStation or PlayStation 4, Sony has always aimed higher and pushed the boundaries further.

Stating that there are few things as exciting as the launch of a new console, Jim Ryan, President & CEO, Sony Interactive Entertainment, said, “While this road to launch has been a bit…different, we are as thrilled as ever to bring you with us on this journey to redefine the future of videogames. We’ve shared technical specifications and shown you the new DualSense wireless controller. But what is a launch without games? That’s why I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday.

“The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware,” Ryan revealed in an official blog post.

Furthermore, Sony’s digital showcase ‘PS5: The Future of Gaming’ will run for a bit more than an hour. Notifying that a lack of physical events has given Sony an amazing opportunity to think differently, Ryan added that “This is part of our series of PS5 updates and, rest assured, after next week’s showcase, we will still have much to share with you.”

Earlier, Sony had showcased the first look of the DualSense wireless controller for PlayStation5 to the gaming community. Asserting that the new controller will deliver a new feeling of immersion to players, a blog post by PlayStation claimed that the DualSense comes with the PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, Powerful sensations, Strong-battery life, Built-in microphone array, Adaptive Triggers and Create Button feature.

“DualSense marks a radical departure from our previous controller offerings and captures just how strongly we feel about making a generational leap with PS5. The new controller, along with the many innovative features in PS5, will be transformative for games – continuing our mission at PlayStation to push the boundaries of play, now and in the future,” said Jim Ryan, President & CEO, Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Acer announced the launch of its new Swift 3 laptop in India today. The laptop is lightweight, thin and is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 4000 series mobile processor with Radeon graphics. The new laptop is going to take on the recently launched  RedmiBook 16 in its home country China last week that also equips  Ryzen 4000 series CPU. However, Acer is the first company to bring AMD Ryzen 4000 series mobile processor-powered laptop to India.

Speaking on this occasion, Chandrahas Panigrahi, CMO & Consumer Business Head, Acer India said, “We are also extremely proud to be the first ones in India to launch a laptop with AMD Ryzen 4000 series processor specially designed for mobile working. As we continue to expand our thin and light range of devices, our goal has always been to offer consumers with a device that can easily function both for work as well as for play. Packed with powerful and brilliant features, the New Swift 3 will be a perfect fit for a modern lifestyle. The fact that Swift 3 weighs only 1.2 kg making it super portable, ideal for slipping in a bag and working on the go.”

Acer Swift 3 Notebook pricing and availability

Acer Swift 3 comes with a starting price of Rs  59,999 in India. It will be offered in a single silver colour option only. It can be purchased via Acer e-store and authorized retail outlets. 

Like we mentioned earlier the device is going to compete with RedmiBook 16 laptop as it is powered by AMD Ryzen 4000 series mobile processor. Its price starts at  RMB 3,999 that translates to Rs 42,420. 

Acer Swift 3 specifications and features

In terms of design, Acer comes with a thin design. It features a narrow-bezel display with a 14-inch Full HD IPS display fitted inside a 15.95mm thin chassis which weighs 1.2kgs offering 82.73 percent screen-to-body ratio. Its ultra-thin Magnesium-Aluminium chassis delivers a good compact feel to the users.

The Acer laptop is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 4000 series mobile processor with Radeon graphics including a max. of 1TB PCle Gen-3 NVMe SSD and up to 16 GB LPDDR4X RAM. it also comes equipped with  Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2019, DTS Audio, featuring optimized bass response and micro-speaker distortion prevention for the optimum sound experience. For security, it supports Windows Hello through fingerprint readers for fast and secure logins. Moreover, it comes with the Wake on Voice (WoV) feature which enables users to activate Windows 10 with just their voice, even when the screen is off. It also allows interaction with Cortana while the device is in Modern Standby mode. Password free access gives users quicker access to the notebook. 

The Acer Swift 3 laptop offers up to 11 hours of battery life and on just 30 minutes charge it lasts up to 4 hours.

In terms of connectivity, there is a dual-band WIFI-6 (802.11 ax) improves the average network throughput by up to 3 times and reduces latency up to 75% compared to WiFi 5. With USB C super-speed USB 10Gbp the users get superfast data transfer and display port functionality. In addition to this there is  2 x 2 MIMO based Intel Wireless Wi-Fi 6 AX200 + BT 5.0. for smooth internet connectivity.
