9 highly-important email security tips you must practice
While Internet offers access to a world of products and services, entertainment and information, it also provides platform to scammers, hackers, and identity thieves. Email remains the main route for data leakage. Here are some important email security tips you should put in practice.
Set a complex password
While most us choose to keep a simple password that is easy to key-in, a better approach to secure your email box is to keep a complex passwords that are regularly updated and kept as a secret. Mind you! Never ever use the password that you’ve set for one email box to log onto your corporate apps and network resources. The reason behind this is that even if your one account gets compromised, another still stays safe.
Safeguard your usernames and passwords
Think twice when you’re asked to enter credentials like usernames and passwords. Never provide them in response to an email. If the email or text seems to be from your bank, for example, visit the bank website directly rather than clicking on any links or calling any numbers in the message. Scammers impersonate well-known businesses to trick people into giving out personal information.
Block breaches
Several Data Breach Investigations have discovered that hackers are increasingly conducting email attacks to support espionage much of which is corporate espionage. The average digital threat can remain undetected in an environment for more than 100 days, according to Verizon. These attacks are more organized than ever, often conducted by organized criminals or even state-supported. To counter this, many companies have launched a network security and incident response that can identify and block a breach in mere 15 minutes. One of them is, Nuspire’s HALO that incorporates point solutions (in which one problem is fixed without regard to related issues) and managed security services (network security services) into one service experience.
Setup Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication is a security mechanism that requires two types of credentials for authentication and is designed to provide an additional layer of validation, minimizing security breaches. Two-factor authentication is also known as strong authentication.
You can setup two-factor authentication to your Apple ID, Gmail, Outlook and more. With two-factor authentication, only you can access your account on a trusted device or the web. When you want to sign in to a new device for the first time, you’ll need to provide two pieces of information—your password and the six-digit verification code that’s automatically displayed on your trusted devices or sent to your phone number. By entering the code, you’re verifying that you trust the new device. For example, if you have an iPhone and are signing into your account for the first time on a newly purchased Mac, you’ll be prompted to enter your password and the verification code that’s automatically displayed on your iPhone.
Recognize and Avoid Phishing Scams
Scammers use email or text messages to trick you into giving them your personal information. They may try to steal your passwords, account numbers, or Social Security numbers. If they get that information, they could gain access to your email, bank, or other accounts. Scammers launch thousands of phishing attacks like these every day — and they’re often successful.
Phishing emails and text messages may look like they’re from a company you know or trust. They may look like they’re from a bank, a credit card company, a social networking site, an online payment website or app, or an online store. Phishing emails and text messages often tell a story to trick you into clicking on a link or opening an attachment. It is best to avoid opening any such emails.
Take help of anti-malware engines
During the COVID-19 lockdown, there is a steep surge in cyber-crimes. It seems that Malware of all shapes and sizes are getting more vicious and increasing tremendously. If order to safeguard yourself from zero-day exploits, you must take help of multiple anti-malware engines for true protection.
Download free software only from sites you know and trust
If you’re not sure who to trust, do some research before you download any software. Free games, file-sharing programs, and customized toolbars also could contain malware that could eventually hack your email ID.
Don’t treat public computers like your personal computer
If it’s not your computer, don’t let a web browser remember your passwords, and make sure to log out of any accounts when you’re done. In fact, if you can help it, don’t access personal accounts — like email, or especially bank accounts — on public computers at all. (Also be careful any time you use public Wi-Fi.)
Never click on unknown links
Remember to never click or open attachments in emails until and unless you know who sent them and what they are. That link or attachment could install malware on your computer.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) creates history beginning its first epic journey to Mars as Hope Probe, or Al Amal in Arabic, lifted off from Japan’s Tanegashima Space Centre aboard a Mitsubishi H-IIA rocket. In about 200 days from now, the spacecraft will reach Mars orbit and begin its Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) to study the Red Planet’s atmosphere. With this, UAE also becomes first Arab Nation to explore other planets.
The probe is expected to enter Mars’ orbit in 2021, coinciding with the UAE’s 50th anniversary. The Emirates Mars Mission will contribute vital knowledge to the global space community and prove that the UAE, a young nation with a newly formed space exploration program, can achieve this breakthrough by prioritizing an ambitious advanced sciences agenda.
The Emirates Mars Mission is designed to orbit Mars and study the dynamics in the Martian atmosphere on a global scale, and on both diurnal and seasonal timescales. Using three scientific instruments on board of the spacecraft, the EMM will provide a set of measurements fundamental to an improved understanding of circulation and weather in the Martian lower and middle atmosphere. Combining such data with the monitoring of the upper layers of the atmosphere, the EMM measurements will reveal the mechanisms behind the upward transport of energy and particles, and the subsequent escape of atmospheric particles from the gravity of Mars.
According to Emirates Mars Mission, “During the Mars Orbit Insertion phase, the Ground and Space Segments are kept to a minimum while the team focuses on safely entering a capture orbit at Mars. Nearly half of the fuel is spent to slow the Hope Probe down enough to capture Mars’ orbit. The fuel burn (firing the Delta V thrusters) will last approximately 30 mins and reduces the speed of the spacecraft from over 121,000 km/h to approximately 18,000 km/h.”
First announced in 2014, the Emirates Mars Mission represents the culmination of an innovative knowledge transfer and development program between the UAE and international partners. ARM-powered MacBook Pro could hit markets soon: Here’s everything you must know
The first-ever virtual WWDC2020 witnessed a historic decision for the Mac as Apple had announced that it will transition the Mac to its world-class custom silicon from using Intel processors to deliver industry-leading performance and powerful new technologies. Now news is rife that the Cupertino-based tech giant will “significantly increase” ARM-powered MacBook Pro orders with suppliers in the third quarter (Q3) of this year as a part of back-to-school drive.
A MacRumor report mentioned that DigiTimes had reported that Apple will also look into increasing sales in the creative market. The major reason behind this is that a large number of professionals are still working remotely owing to lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Developers can now get started updating their apps to take advantage of the advanced capabilities of Apple silicon in the Mac. Moreover, Apple also introduced macOS Big Sur which delivers its biggest update in more than a decade and includes technologies that will ensure a smooth and seamless transition to Apple silicon.
The DigiTimes report further revealed that Apple shipped 3.2-3.5 million MacBooks in the Q2 of 2020. However, the shipment is expected to reach four million units in the third quarter.
According to another MacRumors report, popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted that the first Mac to get an Arm-based chip designed by Apple is likely to be a 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with a form factor similar to the current 13.3-inch MacBook Pro. Earlier this year, Kuo had predicted this new MacBook Pro will be unveiled in late in 2020 or early in 2021.
Apple also introduced macOS Big Sur which delivers its biggest update in more than a decade and includes technologies that will ensure a smooth and seamless transition to Apple silicon. This next major release of macOS can easily convert their existing apps to run on Apple silicon by taking advantage of its powerful technologies and performance. With this, developers can make their iOS and iPadOS apps available on the Mac without any modifications for the very first time.
In order to enable developers to get started with Apple silicon, the Cupertino-based tech giant is also launching the Universal App Quick Start Program, which provides access to documentation, forums support, beta versions of macOS Big Sur and Xcode 12, and the limited use of a Developer Transition Kit (DTK), a Mac development system based on Apple’s A12Z Bionic System on a Chip (SoC).

SpaceX Demo-2 Mission: NASA announces August 2 as Crew Dragon splashdown date
After creating history by successfully riding SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) on May 31st, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine has now announced August 2 as the target splashdown date for the Demo-2 Mission crew members Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley. However, he added that weather will drive the actual date of departure from the space station.
Meanwhile, NASA has revealed that its astronaut Chris Cassidy and Robert Behnken concluded their spacewalk at 1:10 p.m. EDT, after six hours on July 16th. The two NASA astronauts completed all the work to replace batteries that provide power for the International Space Station’s solar arrays on the starboard truss of the complex. The new batteries provide an improved and more efficient power capacity for operations. “The spacewalkers removed six aging nickel-hydrogen batteries for the second of two power channels for the starboard 6 (S6) truss, installed three new lithium-ion batteries, and installed the three associated adapter plates that are used to complete the power circuit to the new batteries. Mission control reports that all three new batteries are working,” revealed an official blog by NASA. The battery replacement work almost completes a 3.5-year effort to upgrade the International Space Station’s power system. At completion, 24 new lithium-ion batteries and adapter plates will replace 48 aging nickel-hydrogen batteries. In April 2019, one of the newly installed lithium-ion batteries on the near port truss blew a fuse, so two nickel-hydrogen batteries were re-installed to take its place. A new replacement lithium-ion battery arrived to the space station in January 2020 aboard the SpaceX Dragon on its 19th commercial resupply services mission and is stowed on the station’s truss until it can be installed during a future spacewalk later this year. Behnken and Cassidy are scheduled to conduct one more spacewalk Tuesday, July 21, during which they will remove two lifting fixtures used for ground processing of the station’s solar arrays prior to their launch. Furthermore, NASA revealed that they will also begin preparing the Tranquility module for the installation of a commercial airlock provided by NanoRacks and scheduled to arrive on a SpaceX cargo flight later this year. The airlock will be used to deploy commercial and government-sponsored experiments into space. According to NASA, “This was the ninth spacewalk for each astronaut. Behnken has now spent a total of 55 hours and 41 minutes spacewalking. Cassidy now has spent a total of 49 hours and 22 minutes spacewalking.” For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Motorola’s next smartphone in the Moto G category seems to be on the way. Recently Moto G9 Plus price was tipped by a Spanish online retailer. Now Moto G9 Play has been spotted in a Geekbench listing suggesting a Qualcomm processor with 4GB of RAM. To recall G9 Play is the successor of Moto G8 Play.
Until now no official information has been released by the company about its next iteration of Moto G8 series. But 2 of the devices except the vanilla variant have been spotted on the internet. The latest is the Moto G9 Play who has been listed on the benchmarking website Geekbench revealing its key specifications. According to the listing, the device will be powered by an unnamed Qualcomm processor as it has been found with a codename guamp. There is going to be a base frequency of 1.8GHz and integrate eight cores on the processor paired with 4GB of RAM. One thing here is notice is that this time the memory on the phone is larger than its predecessor that comes with a 2GB of RAM option. So, if the listing is to be believed then you are getting a double memory than Moto G8 Play. The device single-core score is 313 and the multi-core score is 1370 according to the Geekbench listing and it will run on Android 10.
However, the rumour mills suggest that the device is expected to come with a Snapdragon 600 series processor. To recall Moto G8 Play was launched with a MediaTek Helio P70M SoC so this time the company might switch to a Qualcomm chipset.
As we mentioned earlier also the Moto G9 Plus was also spotted on a Spanish online retail site ParatuPC revealing the price of the device. It suggests that the handset price has been set at EUR 277.15 that translates to Rs 23,700 for the 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage option. It has been listed with a model number XT2087. But the listing says the device is out of stock now. Until now the key details of the Motorola device have not been revealed. However, it is important to note that the same model number was spotted in an EEC listing there also not specifications of the smartphone were missing.
Until now the Lenovo owned Motorola has been super active these days as every other month the company is coming up with new smartphones in the market. So, the Moto G9 series launch might not be too far and we should wait until official information on the new series is announced.

Just like Zoom Facebook Messengers has now come up with a new screen sharing feature for its app users. This feature will be available for both Android and iOS users along with Web and Desktop platforms with the help of Messenger Rooms. The Facebook screen sharing feature will allow the user to instantly share their screen with friends and family one-on-one or in a group video call with up to eight people and up to 16 people in Rooms while using Messenger on their mobile devices.
“Today, we’re excited to share that we’re expanding the availability of Messenger’s screen sharing feature in video calls and Messenger Rooms to our mobile apps. We know people are trying to stay connected more than ever and screen sharing is the latest feature we’re rolling out to bring people closer together,” while announcing this feature the company in its blog post said.
According to the company, screen sharing is being rolled out globally on the latest versions of Messenger’s Android and iOS apps, desktop app and Web.
Facebook screen sharing feature will allow its users to be able to share a live view of their screen with the other person on the call helping them share virtually anything together. Moreover, the company has also said that besides screen sharing on mobile and web this feature is also being expanded to the Messenger Rooms with up to 16 people on web and desktop. Soon the company will also be adding the ability to control who can share their screen in Rooms and expand the number of people they can share your screen with up to 50 within Messenger Rooms. Therefore, letting the Room creators decide how to limit the ability to screen share to just themselves or make the feature available to all participants when creating a room and during the call.
Separately a previous WABetaInfo report suggests that the WhatsApp beta app version 2.20.163 for Android showcases a new integration with Messenger Rooms. For this, the company is creating tables in a local database that will enable the users of this social networking site to manage messages and services with other WhatsApp users. However, this functionality is under development and it is not confirmed that this shared connection platform to bridge communication between Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram will be extended to the users of three platforms to communicate with each using different social-media other profiles.

Amazon Echo Show devices have been getting a lot of success in India giving a tough fight to Apple’s Home Pod and Google nest Hub that are comparatively small as well as pricier. Amazon’s latest Echo Show 8 is a complete entertainment device that is not expensive and offers an 8-inch screen. It is placed between the Amazon Echo 5, which is too small and the Echo Studio that is a bit too expensive. However, it comes with a large 10-inch screen. So, we would say it is a well-priced device designed keeping in mind all your requirements. So, let’s get on to a detailed review of Amazon Echo Show 8 to know whether it offers features as per your requirement and how well it performed to justify the cost.
Unlike Echo Show 5 it comes with a physical camera shutter keeping in mind the user’s privacy, which can be kept closed when one is not video calling.
Echo show 8 is powered by a Mediatek chipset, which is basically different from what comes on the original Echo Show having Intel Atom-based chipset.
On the software front, it runs Fire OS letting the Echo device check for the latest updates such as news, weather and other automatically. But then it does not display up to date visual presentation of the news (at times). It can be commanded to play desired music and now it also supports Spotify. Over that, Amazon music gets you lyrics with a beholding background. But we were quite taken aback to know that there is still no YouTube app on Alexa devices.
Yes, you can watch it on Firefox or Amazon Silk browsers but still, a dedicated app would have been better. The fonts, as well as icons, are large to be seen easily without straining your eyes much. While Alexa was good at paying attention to our voice commands, we loved using it as a digital photo frame, which changes the images from time to time. Goog Photos app is still not there, but one can use photos stored in Amazon Photos or on Facebook to display.

Amazon Echo Show 8 design and display
In terms of the design, the Amazon Echo Show 8 comes with an impressive design. It just perfectly sits on your workstation or your kitchen countertop (in short anywhere). For a price tag of Rs 9,999, it is a really good deal. In the past, the company has introduced Amazon Echo, Echo Dot with Clock, Echo Studio, Echo Show 5 and now Show 8. The range of smart displays is nothing but just an added screen to a speaker equipped with the voice assistant Alexa, along with video calling and streaming options. Some might say it is just a bigger version of Show 5 and a smaller version of Studio. However, it has a relatively sharper display with 1,280×800-pixels of resolution and a solid two-inch speaker. It comes with the same resolution as the 10-inch Show, which was launched last year. It is available in two colour options white as well as black. Here, the display is crisp while the rear is less chunky.
Unlike Echo Show 5 it comes with a physical camera shutter keeping in mind the user’s privacy, which can be kept closed when one is not video calling.
Amazon Echo Show 8 Performance
Here is one thing that is not-so-cool about the device. You only get a low 1-megapixel camera sensor instead of a 5-megapixel camera that comes on the second generation of the Echo Show. Nonetheless, the lower-quality camera was not much pixelated. In terms of sound quality, it comes with better resonance as there is a pair of 2-inch speakers. However, it lacks Dolby-enhanced audio and Zigbee smart hub, which comes in the larger second-generation Echo Show. But that hardly matters as it makes a perfect companion in the kitchen or in any of your rooms. So, in the sound department Echo Show 8 stands out and listening to music is the only thing that you would like to do on it.
Echo show 8 is powered by a Mediatek chipset, which is basically different from what comes on the original Echo Show having Intel Atom-based chipset.

Verdict
The Amazon Echo Show 8 can be used to get the latest news updates, weather, sports scores, set alarms and reminders as well as check out the latest recipes as you cook. The device sounds good but lacks Dolby audio. Can play content from Amazon Prime Video and Voot but most people will miss other video streaming services such as Netflix, or Disney+ Hotstar. You can use it to control other smart devices such as alarms, other home gadgets and Echo devices. For us, it is worth your money and is comfortable to be used anywhere. And yes, the sound is really good on this one.
