What do we think?

Well, while Vivo has got the price bang on in comparison to the specs they are giving. Realme has missed the mark hard. Vivo Z1Pro wins hands down over Realme X. As Vivo Z1Pro has a better processor, superior front-facing camera, 3 cameras at the back, larger 5,000mAh battery, a dedicated gaming mode and comes at a cheaper price. In our opinion, you are better off buying a Vivo Z1Pro than Realme X in this price bracket. Realme 3 Pro is not even in the race between the two.

PUBG Mobile: Pro tips to set up and break bridge camps

PUBG Mobile is a game that everyone is addicted to. The game has gained tremendous popularity and scores of people across the globe have been trying to win the chicken dinner. While a number of guides on the internet will give you tips to be the last standing person on the game, hardly any talk about bridge camping. Here, we are listing down a few things that you can do in PUBG Mobile in order to setup as well as break a highly advantageous bridge camp and increase your kills with ease. We will first speak about breaking a bridge camp and then about setting up one. Take a look:

Use the team snipers to find out about possible bridge camps

Teen stabs older brother to death for not letting him play PUBG Mobile   There are few good points around the bridge that let players find out about any bridge camps from a distance. If you are going to a bridge, this tip is simply a must-follow. A great sniper offensive before spraying or rushing would be enough to effectively break a camp. Even if they choose not to attack because of a strategy, they would at least be able to determine the enemy.

Use natural covers for survival

pubg lite for pc The bridge always has a number of damaged cars on the pathway. These can be used for cover, and one must do it no matter how clear the road looks. Players can also choose to hide behind the pillars on the bridge. But then, one must also remember that these are the same places that the opposing teams would be using to set up their bridge camps.

Use smoke and grenade when you engage with your enemy

10 PUBG Mobile tricks you need to know to always get the Chicken Dinner   Since a large area between both ends of the bridge is open, it is very necessary to have an ample supply of smoke and grenades. So, you must be prepared beforehand and acquire smoke grenades while planning on approaching a bridge. A great way to break u a camp is by using the smoke as cover to close the distance and using grenades to add more damage to the enemies in groups. However, it should also be pointed out that the players must be aware of snipers positioned away from the central location of the blockade.

Ambush the enemy from both sides to get an upper hand

PUBG Mobile mistakes 4 We should mention that if you are planning to implement this strategy, you must do it with patience and caution. If your team spots a bridge camp from a distance, you can split-up and ambush the enemy from both ends. Although the strategy is a little risky, it can be executed. However, the attack must be a planned one. One group can distract the enemy, while the other one can attack. But remember to maintain constant attack so that the enemy remains distracted enough to not know that the other group is coming too. There is no way that is more effective to break an enemy’s camp.

Beat the camp, rather than breaking it

surroundings in game While this involves a lot of risks, it could be the best option in the case where players find themselves at the wrong end of the bridge as the blue zone closes. In such a case, try not to swim across and stick to using the bridge instead. This can be done by using motorcycles to jump across to the other side through the middle of the bridge. Players need to ride through the bridge road and then time their jump at either side of the bridge, facing the river, while maintaining the direction towards the land on the other side. On landing, the players need to focus on getting to cover before the enemies have enough time to react. Now, let’s talk about tips to set up a bridge camp!

Be sure that you are the first one to arrive

PUBG Mobile mistakes The thought of getting easy kills in PUBG Mobile can be so enticing that people often forget that they must be the first ones to arrive. That’s the basic idea of camping after all: To stay at one position and remain unnoticed by anyone. One of the most foolish mistakes that people make in the game is to assume that the bridge is going to be unoccupied. It’s better to stay around it and analyse it before you proceed to camp there. The best time to camp on the bridge is to begin when the circle begins to close.

Don’t forget the map

safe zone Before camping, make sure you check the map and be aware of the closing blue zone. A good number of kills can be achieved if one camps on the entrance of the bridge that is opposite to the side where the blue zone is closing. The closing of the blue zone will prompt other players to use the bridge to get to safety. This is exactly what can be exploited using a bridge camp.

Shoot when the enemy has no cover

PUBG Mobile 2 There are multiple crashed vehicles on the bridge that act as a good cover for the players. While it is good for those who are camping, it is also good for the enemies approaching. If you shoot too soon, your enemies in PUBG Mobile will get a chance to hide behind cover. So, it is the best to shoot when your enemy is away from vehicles.

Tip 4: You must have the right gear with you

AKM PUBG Mobile You must have a good weapon with you and a decent supply of ammo to set up a bridge camp. Your primary weapon should preferably be a rifle with an 8x to 6x scope and the secondary one should be an SMG. Also, make sure that you have the right attachments because they can help you get easy kills.

Don’t be at a single place for too long

PUBG Mobile mistakes 10 One of the most basic and important things you can do in PUBG Mobile to survive is to be in constant motion. While bridge camp is a great way to get easy kills, it will also put you in danger as time passes. If enemies notice your camp, they can strategize to break the camp in a surprising ambush. 16 apps removed from Google Play Store infected by Agent Smith malware, remove them from your smartphone in case you have them installed

Malware problem and attacks on or from Google Play Store apps are not a new phenomenon. We do see apps getting removed regularly from the Play Store which violates its policy. This time a new Agent Smith malware has emerged on the largest app store for mobiles. Agent Smith malware blasts a flurry of advertisements on your Android smartphone. A total of 16 known apps have been infected by this malware. Check Point who is a partner with Google was the first to detect the malware. After the report, Google has immediately removed the apps from the Play store. Alphabet-owned company has already removed 16 apps and they are looking out for more which might be infected. The malware when deployed in a smartphone starts infecting some of the internal files also and might send ads even after the app is removed or uninstalled. So, it is a good idea to run a malware scan from a known source. Good anti-malware are available on the Play Store, so download one swiftly if your phone has been infected. But before you do this, uninstall the app from your smartphone since Google can not do that for you, they can just wipe them off the Play Store. The following are the apps and games infected by Agent Smith malware:
  • Ludo Master – New Ludo Game 2019 For Free
  • Sky Warriors: General Attack
  • Clash of Virus
  • Angry Virus
  • Rabbit Temple
  • Star Range
  • Photo Projector
  • Gun Hero – Gunman Game for Free
  • Cooking Witch
  • Kiss Game: Touch Her Heart
  • Girl Cloth Xray Scan Simulator
  • Color Phone Flash – Call Screen Theme
  • Bio Blast – Infinity Battle Shoot virus
  • Shooting Jet
  • Photo Projector
  • Gun Hero – Gunman Game for Free
  • Cooking Witch
  • Blockman Go: Free Realms & Mini Games
  • Crazy Juicer – Hot Knife Hit Game & Juice Blast
In case you have any of the above apps on your Android mobile, remove them quickly. A good idea is to put an anti-malware in your mobile after that and scan the device. If that does not solve the problem, you might want to do a factory reset, as the expert’s advice. But that is one-off case, in all likelihood a scan using a good anti-malware will take care of the issue. Apple iPhone XR and XS made in India versions will start selling from August, prices to get cheaper

Well, it is about time. Since months Foxconn has been setting up its plants in India. Now, reports have come that Apple iPhones top-end models like the iPhone XR and XS will start its production in the country. People could buy them as early as August 2019. With it, the prices of both smartphones are slated to get cheaper by 10-20%. The price drop was anyways going to be there since in September Apple will introduce its next generations of iPhones. Two of them will be Apple iPhone XI and XI max. Apple has already started manufacturing lower models like iPhone SE, 6S and iPhone 7 in the country. These were first released in the market in 2015, but now the 2019 versions of the above smartphone models are bearing the made in India tag. India, being one of the biggest markets for Apple, did not see much sale of the Apple iPhone XS and XS Max. iPhone XR did some sales, but it wasn’t enough. With the plant in Bangalore kicking into its full potential we will see the iPhone XS and XS Max becoming cheaper for the sub-continent. Apple is hoping that with it, the sales in India will improve. But we feel this is coming at a time when the next versions are right around the corner. How many will end up buying a year-old technology at a cheaper price, is something we will leave for the future. But our gut feeling says, not too many.iphone xs 3 For the unknown, both the smartphones are powered by Apple A12 Bionic processor. Apple iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max come with OLED HDR Super Retina touchscreen. Apple iPhone XS comes with a 5.8-inch touch display and iPhone XS Max brings a 6.5-inch thin tube. With A12 Bionic CPU onboard, the devices have augmented reality feature as well and are said to launch applications about 30% faster than the earlier iPhones. When we talk about the cameras, both iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have a dual rear camera setup. These consist of a 12MP wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture and a 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies and video chats, Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max sport a 7MP TrueDepth camera with f/2.2 aperture. The front-facing camera of Apple iPhones promises more depth in portrait images. In fact, with these mobile devices, you can adjust the blur level of the background within the images after the user has taken the shot.

Google Assistant recordings were heard by the tech giant’s employees

Technology giant Google has admitted that it listens to the voice recordings to users talking to its AI-based digital assistant: Google Assistant. The company revealed this only after its Dutch language recordings were leaked by Belgian public broadcaster VRT. The report in VRT said, “Most of these recordings were made consciously, but Google also listens to conversations that should never have been recorded, some of which contain sensitive information.” In a company blog post, Google’s product manager of Search, David Monees admitted that the technology giant’s language experts globally listen to users’ recordings. This enables the company to better understand language and enhances the development of its speech technology. According to the blog post, “These language experts review and transcribe a small set of queries to help us better understand those languages. This is a critical part of the process of building speech technology, and is necessary to create products like the Google Assistant.” But then, the company has maintained that only 0.2% of all the recordings are heard by the language experts. Google has also added that these clippings are anonymous and they are not linked to any user’s personal account. So, the user’s personal information remains safe. The post by the company also mentions that no background noise is transcribed by language experts at Google so that the privacy of the users is maintained. However, the report in VRT has another story to tell. It says that among over 1,000 Assistant recordings from smartphones and home speakers, 153 were recorded accidentally and some of them even revealed the personal information of the users. One of the recordings is said to have the user’s address, and the other had names of grandchildren. google assistant 2 Google Assistant can be activated by saying “OK, Google” to your Android smartphone. After users say this, the recording starts. Google has admitted in its blog post that there are times when the digital assistant gets triggered by something other than “OK Google” command and starts recording. However, this is said to only happen when there is a lot of background noise. We should mention that this is not the first case of such a thing happening. Earlier this year, Amazon admitted that its employees listened to an “extremely small sample” of Alexa voice recording that was captured via Echo devices. This helped in training its speech recognition and language understanding to become better. Amazon had to admit this after a Bloomberg report said that thousands of employees at Amazon listen to voice recordings that were captured by Echo devices.

Wimbledon 2019: Easter egg tribute by Google, here is how you can find and play it

Google is known to put Easter eggs in their search or allied systems. Today is the turn of Wimbledon fans. Wimbledon 2019 is on its way and a lot of upsets have already been seen on the Tennis turf. Though for India Cricket world cup was in the news all the time for India, but for the rest of the world (mostly) all eyes were glued on Wimbledon 2019. Nadal and Federer’s match is what everyone has been talking about lately. And in the middle of it, Google puts an Easter on their search engine to heat things up. It will come on the search results if you type Wimbledon or #wimbledon, along with the scorecard. Here are the exact steps you need to follow to find the Wimbledon 2019 Easter egg:
  • Open Chrome or any other browser
  • Go to Google.com
  • In the search bar type Wimbledon or #wimbledon
  • Press search
  • You will be presented with a scorecard of Wimbledon 2019
  • Scroll to the right edge of the scorecard and press the Green Tennis ball
  • The game will appear in that tab. (It is the last tab)
  • Press the play icon and you will be able to play the game
Yes, the Wimbledon Easter egg is a tennis game much like the one you saw on old NES gaming systems. Here you would need to play against a robot. The robot is in the form of a cat, android or an astronaut while you are also in the form of an astronaut, owl, a cat etc. It is a fun game where you have to use the left or the right keys on the keyboard to start the play. You are always serving and the computer will strike back. The aim of the Wimbledon game is simple, keep hitting the ball by using left or right cursor keys. As the game passes the by, the speed of the ball keeps increasing. The best score we have had in it is 18 and the ball speed was quite a scorcher by then.  The tennis ball is not available on all browsers, but if you have the Chrome browser then you are definite to get it as the last tab on the scorecard. Google keeps pushing an Easter egg every now and then. The last one was the of the Avengers Infinity gauntlet from the movie Avengers: Endgame. Clicking on the gauntlet, some of the search results evaporated from the search page. Much like the heroes from the Avengers: Infinity War movie. Vivo Z1Pro Review: A gaming beast within a budget

Vivo has consistently brought some of the best smartphones to India in the past couple of quarters. 2019 seems to be a good year for the Chinese company who has recently brought another scorcher to the Indian shores. Called the Vivo Z1Pro it is aimed at the younger generation who is on a budget, yet wants a good-looking smartphone with good to exceptional performance. And if gaming has been thrown in the mix, it will be a winner in their books. Well, Vivo Z1Pro does boast of all that, so we put it on our review bench to see if it just vaunts or delivers.

Vivo Z1Pro Display and Design

There are many smartphones in the sub 20K rupee mark that have good looks. And Vivo Z1Pro is no different. It is built with good precision and straight out of the box wants attention. The front of the smartphone has an almost edge to edge touchscreen with a camera dot placed on the top left. There is a bit of chin area on this smartphone, but not too much that might take away from the show. The volume rocker and power buttons are placed on the right edge of the smartphone while the Dual SIM (NANO) card slots is placed on the left edge. Here you will also find one more button, single press this and it activates Google Assistant. If you double press it, Google lens will come to life. At the bottom of the Vivo Z1Pro, users get a 3.5mm audio port, primary microphone, a loudspeaker hidden behind a neat grille and a micro USB charging cum data port. Which is a googly, while most have moved forward to the USB Type C port, Vivo is still on yesterday’s tech. The rear panel is built of plastic yet has a very glass-like finish. We reviewed the Sonic Blue version of the Vivo Z1Pro which does look exceptional. The light reflects off the back panel and you can see thick gloss on the back panel, again adding to the show. There are two more colours available – sonic black, which has a purple tone and the last one is mirror black. Placed on the back is a vertical array of triple rear cameras along with a LED flash. Here Vivo has also given a fingerprint scanner. The company’s logo can also be found on the bottom half of the smartphone. The rear panel is lustrous and nice to look at, but it also attracts its fair share of fingerprints. Which on the black version do not show as much when compared to the Blue variant. The Vivo Z1Pro has a 6.53-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and the screen to body ratio is just under 91%. That is incredible how the company has managed to do that. Thanks to which, operating the display is better than others in the same category. As your thumb can reach more screen area with one-handed use. Also, the punch-hole camera does not come in the way too much and is not an eyesore since it is usually under the thumb while playing games. When watching movies or videos, again it is not, like we said, an eyesore. The screen on the Vivo Z1Pro is able to portray very good colours and crisp text characters. The viewing angles are also nice and the colours do not look washed out. Sunlight legibility is not bad either, keep the adaptive brightness on and it will help the case further. Overall, we found the display to be one of the finest points of this mobile. As gaming is lively and YouTube experience is super, Vivo has done a good job. It also responds well to each finger tap and thud.

Performance and Cameras

For the price bracket the Vivo Z1Pro is in and the kind of specs it offers, this smartphone can give its competition like Xiaomi Note 7 Pro a run for its money. Well, actually it is a wee bit better than the Note 7 Pro. Before we tell you how, let’s get the specs out of the way. Vivo Z1Pro comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 octa-core CPU, which has a top clock speed of 2.3GHz. Here 2 cores run at 2.3Ghz and the other 6 run at 1.71GHz. This is combined with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage (middle variant, the one we were reviewing). There are two more deviations available. The base model comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and the top-end one comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The storage can further be expanded by up to 256GB using a microSD card. The graphics are supplied using an Adreno 616 GPU. The battery is massive as it comes with a 5,000 mAh brick inside. This can be fast-charged using the 18W power charger, which comes in the box. Also, in the box, you get a power cable and a pair of headphones. The sound via which is pretty good, much better than what the loudspeaker can provide on the Vivo Z1Pro. Coming back to battery life, we got over 1.5 days of wake time on this smartphone (under regular use). When gaming is put in the mix, a couple of hours of PUBG we are talking about, the total time went down to about a day. Which actually is not bad at all. Talking about PUBG, there is a dedicated gaming mode in the Vivo Z1Pro enhancing the gaming experience. Games like PUBG or Asphalt 9 work much better on it. We did not experience any frame drops or lag while gaming. Same is the case when one is watching movies or FHD YouTube videos. Skipping over to its cameras, let’s start with the rear ones first. These consist of a 16MP primary wide sensor with an aperture size of f/1.8, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with an aperture size of f/2.2 and the third one for depth that has a sensor of 2MP with aperture f/2.4. Together they are able to spurt very good to excellent shots. The HDR mode kicks in nicely and the images become livelier. No matter what the lighting conditions are, we got some of the best shots we have seen in this smartphone class. At night the Vivo Z1Pro is able to display good colours, too. However, the edges or far off objects lose a bit of their sheen. Videos here can be shot in 4K, but between 24-30FPS only. The colours are very close to life in the videos, too.

indoor shot

Now for the front camera, which is another bright point of the Vivo Z1Pro. The camera dot has a 32MP sensor with aperture f/2.2. This is great if you want to livestream your PUBG session with you in the frame. FHD videos at 30FPS are supported here. Pictures look great too and a plethora of modes make the selfie-taking experience one of the best in the category. You get everything from beauty mode to portrait photo effects and live mode. The beauty mode is available in videos too.

selfie

The operating system on the Vivo Z1Pro is Android Pie 9 with the Fun Touch OS skin on top of it. We particularly are not in awe of the system, but it has become better. Though somethings like the bottom-up shortcut centre is very Apple-like, it does have a lot of elements of its own. We do like an app drawer (that is missing here) where all the icons are not cluttered on the home screens. And there are a lot of them from the get-go. A number of apps can be found on this smartphone, which makes it bloatware heavy. However, most of them can be removed with just two taps. The OS does support cloning of apps, which is a good thing to have if you are using two SIMS in the smartphone. On the benchmarks, the Vivo Z1Pro scored 1,82,690 on AnTuTu that is better than the Xiaomi Note 7 Pro. Similar was the case when we ran Geekbench 4 on its. Here the Vivo Z1Pro scored 1,870 on single-core and 5,965 on multi-core CPU tests. 7,406 was its score in the compute test on Geekbench 4.benchmark vivo z1 pro

Verdict and Final Words

Since the smartphone has a 5,000 mAh battery it was bound to be slightly heavy. At 201 grams the company has tried to keep the weight balanced on the Vivo Z1Pro. Overall, this smartphone is a gaming beast and one would enjoy long hours of gaming on it. The screen is quite good and the sound with the headphones is pretty darn decent. The latest Android OS is available but bloatware could have been lesser. At a price of Rs 16,990 (6GB version), the Vivo Z1Pro comes with a 712 QC chipset that is better than rest in sub Rs 20K arena. It is definitely a worthy device to pick up.

Pros

Good display Great camera Gaming mode

Cons

Bloatware
