OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earphones to launch in four colours

As we are eagerly waiting for OnePlus 8 Pro to launch officially, an image shared by popular tipster Evan Blass through his Patreon account has revealed that the company is likely to lift curtains off its OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earphones in all colours.

A tweet by Evleaks suggests that OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z, which will be a successor to OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2, will come in 4 colours— Green, Blue, Black and Silver. Earlier, it was rumoured that OnePlus Wireless Z could come with noise cancellation, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, Type-C port, and easy pairing with OnePlus smartphones. However, we are yet to find out details about the design as well as specifications of the OnePlus wireless charger but earlier leaks have suggested that it will provide a 30W charging output.

According to 91mobiles, tipster Ishan Agarwal has revealed that the Chinese company is planning to launch a new pair of wireless earphones which will be known as OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z. Mind you! OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z will not be the handset maker’s first truly wireless earbuds rather it will be an affordable version of the company’s Bullets Wireless 2 earphones, added Agarwal.

Moving on the price, it is likely that the Bullets Wireless Z will be available at a price point of $100 (approx. Rs 7,599). As per the sources, OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earphones will be launched alongside the 8 Pro on April 14.

As far as OnePlus 8 Pro is concerned, we could see this handset in an exclusive ‘Ultramarine Blue’ colour besides the Glacial Green and Onxy Black colours catering the smartphone users who love to flaunt their phones. According to Winfuture, while the ‘Ultramarine Blue’, which wasn’t seen ever before, is exclusively for OnePlus 8 Pro smartphone, the ‘Interstellar Glow’ is reserved for the OnePlus 8 at least for the time being.

A latest leak by popular tipster Ronald Quandt has revealed OnePlus 8 Pro will come fitted with a dual 48MP setup on the back panel that will be fitted with a Sony IMX689 sensor in the main camera and an IMX586 in the ultra-wide cam. Dolby On app rolled out on Android for improved audio and video recording as well as live streaming

American company specializing in audio noise reduction and audio encoding/compression Dolby has today announced the Dolby On app for Android users. The company has already released the app for Apple’s iOS platform.

Dolby On is a free music and video recording and streaming app that has been launched by the company today. The app is now available for download via the Google Play store. According to the company the app has been designed in a way so that the user can easily record and live stream audio and video with superior Dolby sound quality with the use of their device.

The company says that the app offers musicians and content creators a powerful mobile tool to capture their ideas and inspirations to share it with their friends and collaborators with the use of Dolby sound. The app gets a load of the sound coming in and then it automatically applies its audio effects such as compression, EQ, limiting, noise reduction, stereo widening, de-essing and more. The audio can further be edited with unique sound “styles” – like photo filters in Instagram that allow you to apply sonic profiles to your recording. This allows the creators to record as well as Livestream both audios as well as videos with Dolby sound. The iOS app has an in-built live streaming feature for sharing out content to Twitch or Facebook.

Here is a guide to how to use the Dolby On the app:

  • For video, frame your shot by setting up your phone or tablet, and ensure your space is lit properly. For audio-only recordings, you should experiment with phone placement to get the right mix of sound sources (for example, capturing the right balance of your voice and guitar.)
  • Check your levels and keep an eye on the in-app level meter if you’re in the red, reduce your volume or move the phone further away to avoid clipping.
  • Should you be using the iOS live streaming feature, make sure you have your Facebook or Twitch feeds available nearby on a separate device so you can view feedback and engage with your viewers in real-time. While live streaming will work from a good cell data signal, we definitely recommend a strong WiFi connection for the best results.

Dolby On app is now available on Google Play Store and App Store in India.

April Fools’ Day: PUBG runs Fantasy Battle Royale event mode for Internet Warriors

0

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, most the companies across the world have dropped the usual trend of cracking a joke or playing a prank. However, PUBG has continued with its idea of running a Fantasy Battle Royale event mode, starting on April 1 till April 7.
“In a time when people are keeping themselves safe and indoors, we believe that video games offer a diversion from solitude and a way to be social while still staying safely apart. For these reasons, we’ve chosen to go forward with our planned event in hopes that it offers a little bit of light-hearted fun during this necessary isolation,” PUBG revealed in its official blog post.

In order to play, you simply need to click on the Fantasy Battle Royale banner in main lobby to enter the special Fantasy BR lobby. However, choose from one of four character classes lifted straight out of D&D lore—wizards, barbarians, paladins, and rangers— before starting the game. These character classes bring a different set of skills to the fight. Mind you! Fantasy BR, which takes place on the Dragon’s Isle (Erangel), does not support 1 man or 3 man squad but will automatically find suitable companions for you. Friendly fire is disabled. It does not grant XP rewards but BP is earned based on your total gameplay time.

Besides this, there will be special fantasy-themed rewards for taking part. The game mode is far from a full conversion. Developers have introduced some “alternate choices” in how they represent fantasy within the confines of PUBG’s militaristic world. Well, Fantasy Battle Royale is an optional event mode that lets you choose from one of four fantasy classes to take on the Battlegrounds in a completely different way. Developer at PUBG have put to use the existing mechanics in fun and crazy new ways to create a funny mode. As per the blog post, Fantasy BR has given us the opportunity to test a few new ideas in a real but fantasy environment.

The PUBG teams states that none of this means that these test features are going to appear in normal PUBG matches in coming days. However, it helps the team gather your feedback so it can decide whether or not to develop them further.

So, put on your robe and wizard hat and get set to play Fantasy Battle Royale.

EMUI 10.1 features: Everything you should know

Recently the electronics giant recently launched its new smartphone series in the market despite the battling coronavirus situation. The company has launched Huawei P40 series along with Huawei Watch GT 2e and Sound X wireless speaker. The software on the new smartphone is worth noting as the company will be releasing EMUI 10.1 to its other devices also very soon.

According to the company, the EMUI 10.1 will roll out to over 30 Huawei smartphone models, including the HUAWEI Mate 30 Series, HUAWEI Mate X, HUAWEI P30 Series among others. However, there is no word when the company will start rolling out these devices.

Features of the EMUI 10.1

According to the company, EMUI 10.1 builds upon the foundation of its predecessor, introducing new features such as HUAWEI MeeTime and more Multi-screen Collaboration capabilities for better user experience. In the animation department, similar to how objects in motion gradually decelerate as they lose their momentum to friction, the scrolling animations now also slow down before coming to a natural stop. The acceleration model is based on human factors research, Swiping inwards from either side and pausing to bring out the sidebar. From the sidebar, the users can drag apps across the screen to initiate Multi-Window. Even Images, text and files can be dragged from one app to another. The floating window lets the users text messages without having to activate the full-screen app.

With the inclusion of Multi-Device Control Panel the users can now see every connected device in their proximity at a glance. This feature has made connecting one device to another much easier with just a tap on the corresponding button on the menu. It also recommends other nearby devices. For example,  when a user is listening to music on Huawei Music with a Huawei Sound X nearby, the Multi-Device Control Panel will suggest switching the audio output to the smart speaker to get better sound quality.

MeTime

The MeTime is the company’s latest all-scenario video calling app which would be quite helpful during the lockdown. It supports up to 1080p Full HD video calls between Huawei devices. To improve the video quality in low-light conditions it comes with brightness enhancements and beautification algorithms. It allows users to share their screen during a call with the other party and simultaneously mark-up the screen to collaborate with each other. Over that third party camera such as the Drift action camera can be wirelessly connected with a Huawei smartphone running EMUI 10.1 and be used as an external HUAWEI MeeTime camera for better video calling experience.

Huawei shares now support high-speed file transfer between two Huawei devices including smartphones, tablets and PC. All the devices support third-party products, for instance, European photo printing company Cewe has implemented Huawei Share in their photo printing kiosks, enabling users to easily print their photos wirelessly.

Just like Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa, Huawei has also introduced its own voice assistant Celia that will arrive with the rollout of  EMUI 10.1. It works similar to the other voice assistance and works on the user’s voice command. For instance, to wake up say “Hey Celia”. It has support for object identification, media playback control, text messaging, face-to-face translation, calorie scanning and more. The Huawei’s voice assistant can speak English, French and Spanish and the company promises to bring other languages such as the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Mexico, Chile and Columbia in the first phase of the release.

With the help of a distributed file system, Gallery now accumulates all media saved across Huawei smartphones and tablets running EMUI 10.1 that are connected to the same Wi-Fi AP network and logged in under the same HUAWEI ID.

The video conferencing app Zoom has now become the most downloaded app in India, its founder is now a billionaire

Zoom has become the most downloaded Android app in India due to coronavirus lockdown leaving behind the uncrowned king WhatsApp. The chatting app has now slipped to the fifth position despite being widely used by the people during their stay at home.

To become the most-downloaded Android app in India the video conferencing app has outgrown many popular apps such as WhatsApp, TikTok as well as Instagram. Whatsapp too offers the feature of video calling but Zoom allows up to 50 participants at a single time to join a meeting whereas WhatsApp allows two people at a time. At the moment Zoom is the only app that allows more than 10 people to participate in a video conference call. This is the main logic behind the skyrocketing popularity of the app in India as well as across the globe. Until now the app has been downloaded by more than 50 million users via Google play store. As almost half of the world is right now working from home due to health concerns the number of downloads is growing.

Eric Yuan is the CEO of Zoom was pulled out of Cisco Systems where he was designated as the company’s Corporate VP of engineering. There was when he first dreamed up to develop his own video-conferencing platform as he agreed that many customers were not satisfied with the services.

video conferencing app Zoom

In the year 2011, he decided to set up his own new company Zoom. He took over 40 Cisco engineers along with him to start his own venture. In 2012 Zoom was finally launched as a video conferencing app. After the successful opening a few years later in 2018, the company’s revenues doubled with almost 1700 employees working for him. When the app was launched Google and Cisco were already running the market. Quite a few years later it then had  40 million individual participants using the app. During the initial years, the company offers free services to lure customers which it still offers but only basic services however the business clients have to pay for more features.

But now the Zoom is the most successful video conferencing app after the world was hit by coronavirus this is because it allows over 100 participants in a video call and a lot of other features giving stiff competition to Google, Microsoft and now WhatsApp also. During this critical situation when the whole world is struggling in the tech industry has been hit by the pandemic the most Zoom has been hugely benefited from the coronavirus while dethroning many popular apps.

As Houseparty and Zoom gains popularity, user’s accounts are being hacked

As the pandemic coronavirus spread is on a rise it has almost paralyzed the whole world as well as the tech industry. To combat the situation office goers have been asked to stay home due to health concerns. They are forced to stay away from their loved ones and people have also been working from home in order to maintain social distancing. So people have to resort to video conferencing apps in order to stay connected to their friends, family as well as the workplace. The use of several video-calling apps such as Zoom Cloud Meetings, Houseparty, and Marco Polo is also high and is being widely downloaded by Android and iOS users across the world.

Many people across the world and even in India have to take work from home as well as maintain their social life online amid coronavirus. Since the lockdown, the video conferencing apps are being widely downloaded to catch up with their friends as well as co-workers.

Now according to a recent report using these apps has resulted in their other social media accounts such as Instagram, Facebook, Netflix, Spotify being hacked. As the usage of these apps is on a rise the user’s privacy is also being compromised. House Party has now been brought to the dock to prove that all the user’s accounts are safe. The company has now taken to Twitter to assure its users that their accounts are safe and the app does not collect passwords from other sites. The Tweets read, “All Houseparty accounts are safe – the service is secure, has never been compromised, and doesn’t collect passwords for other sites.”

The companies deny such allegations and say there is no such evidence to prove that the user’s privacy is being compromised. “We’ve found no evidence to suggest a link between Houseparty and the compromises of other unrelated accounts,” a spokesperson stated. The company also recommends the users to choose strong passwords while creating an account on any platform. It says. “Use a unique password for each account, and use a password generator or password manager to keep track of passwords, rather than using passwords that are short and simple.”

Since the lockdown, the popularity of the Houseparty app has also increased. According to Cybersecurity researchers, the app can access the user’s microphone as well as camera and their contacts that also includes Facebook friends. So it is suggested to read all the terms and conditions before signing up for the services to understand what kind of data is being collected.

Zoom

Along with Houseparty, another popular app that is widely used is Zoom. in the past the video conferencing platform has also faced some of the privacy concerns. According to a report last week during the WFH Happy Hour a troll joined the group and, using the screen sharing feature, aired a pornographic clip to the call’s 40 participants. This is known as zoombombing has also occurred while a reading session for children stuck at home and began repeating the N-word several times.

The company in its statement said, “We have been deeply upset to hear about the incidents involving this type of attack. For those hosting large, public group meetings, we strongly encourage hosts to change their settings so that only the host can share their screen.
