The popular social media app has announced that the users are now required to tell Instagram their birth date in order to use its services. If yours is an older account (before 2019) then you need to do so as it has become mandatory to provide these details. Instagram via blog post announced that over the next few weeks some of the users on the platform will be asked to provide their birthdate if you have not shared it previously. This move comes in order to make the app a safer and private place for the users.  “We’ve been clear that we want to do more to create safer, more private experiences for young people. To do that we need to know how old everybody is on Instagram, so we’ve started asking people to share their birthday with us if they haven’t shared it previously, the blog post said. According to Instagram, the information will enable it to create new safety features for young people and help ensure we provide the right experiences to the right age group. The app made some changes in March to prevent adults from sending messages to people under 18 who don’t follow them, and last month only it started to default new accounts belonging to people under the age of 16 into a private setting. The app owned by Facebook also states that this info will also allow providing a personalised experience to Instagram users. For instance, they will be able to apply a recent change that was done to restrict advertiser targeting options for audiences under the age of 18, to more people. It also helps us show you more relevant ads. Instagram brought the change to share birthdays in 2019 and now to get a more complete picture it has introduced two major changes that will apply to people who haven’t already shared their birthday. First of all, they will be prodded to share their birthday with the service. “We’ll show you a notification a handful of times and if you haven’t provided us with your birthday by a certain point, you’ll need to share it to continue using Instagram. A famous Youtuber Austin Evans made a teardown video comparing both the older PS5 with the newer model side by side. Here are things we came to know. 

Observations

As the New version of the Sony PS5 is only available in Japan and Australia, Evans got hold of the Japanese variant. To his curiosity, constantly trying to figure out the changes made by the company, he kept on weighing the new and older parts to figure out the weight difference. After looking at the new fan with a larger blade the reason why they sounded different while running the same game was clear. It can be seen in the video that the newer model was running 3-5 degrees hotter than the older version, when running the same game on the same setting.

Samsung Galaxy F12 was launched in India some time ago under the company’s F-Series of the lineup. It comes with a quad rear camera system and a water drop-style display. The best part is the 90Hz refresh rate on the HD display and a massive 6,000mAh is being offered at Rs 11,000 price segment, which is great. Here is our review of the Samsung Galaxy F12.

Samsung Galaxy F12 review: Display and Design

Samsung Galaxy F12 comes with a refreshing look. However, the device is quite heavy to hold and seems thick on the sides. It comes with a textured plastic body with stripes on the back panel. The textured finish gives the phone a good grip and it doesn’t attract any fingerprints or smudges. There is a quad-camera setup given on the top left corner placed inside a square-shaped module that is slightly raised. On flipping the phone you will see a huge display of which we will talk about in detail a bit later. There is a water drop-shaped notch that plays house to the selfie camera.  Samsung Galaxy F12 review: Display and Design The bezels on the sides are quite noticeable. The chin area is relatively thicker than the rest of the body, which is not an issue at this price point. The secondary microphone is given on the top of the frame whereas the primary one is positioned at the bottom. The power button is also a fingerprint scanner and the volume rocker is placed on the right side, whereas you get a SIM card slot on the left. The bottom of the frame contains a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port and a single bottom-firing speaker. Samsung Galaxy F12 review: Display and Design Now coming to the display Samsung Galaxy F12 features a massive 6.5-inch HD+ HD+ Infinity-V Display with 720×1,600 pixels of a resolution offering a 20:9 aspect ratio. To further sweeten the deal the company offers you a 60Hz refresh rate support on this device which amplifies to 90Hz during gaming, Instagram and Facebook scrolling and YouTube. Additionally, it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The display is bright but isn’t that bright under direct sunlight. Nonetheless is good enough for content viewing as it produces vibrant colour and is smooth to use. The screen also offers an eye comfort shield that prevents eye strain. That is an added feature advantage while using the phone at nighttime. There is a  bottom-firing speaker, which is loud with good sound quality. The audio is further tuned by Dolby Atmos producing a surround sound experience.

That’s done now, let’s talk about the performance of the device. The device is laden with an in-house Exynos 850 chipset based on 8nm architecture. It comes with Mali-G52 GPU paired with 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The other version comes with 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. We have the 128GB storage variant for testing.  During our tests, the device performed all the daily tasks and multitasking well. We did not come across any lag while switching between the app and scrolling on social media feeds. But when it comes to gaming the device can easily handle light gaming. However, the performance takes a hit when you play graphics-intensive games like COD, Battlegrounds India and others. You would need to bring down the graphic quality for hassle-free gameplay in those games.  Samsung Galaxy F12 review: Performance and Cameras In terms of software, Samsung Galaxy F12 ships OneUI 3.1 based on Android 11. It does come loaded with bloatware such as MX TakaTak, Moj, PhonePe and ShareChat, but that’s not an issue as most of the apps can be easily uninstalled. Now that the company has started taking the competition very seriously it provides you with software upgrades, too.  Coming to the cameras, Samsung Galaxy F12 includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with  f/2.0 aperture. In addition to this, there is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera sensor for taking selfies and video calling. The daytime images from the rear shooter are nice and bright, but the image quality degrades when you shoot in low lighting or dark environments as there is no dedicated night mode to brighten up the images. That’s what you can expect from an under 10,000 smartphone. 
Macro Shot
Nevertheless, the wide-angle shots were decent and macro images also got the job done. On the other hand, the images shot from the 2-megapixel depth sensor were average and not great. The selfie camera allows you to go ultra-wide even on an 8-megapixel sensor. The videos can be recorded in two formats Full HD and HD @30fps.  The Galaxy F12 is fuelled by a massive 6,000mAh battery that offers you more than a day of endurance even on heavy usage. If you are an average user then you can stretch the battery life to 2 or more days. Comes along with a 15W charger, which takes about two hours and 47 minutes to fully charge from zero to 100 percent.

Verdict

Samsung Galaxy F12 is available in India with a price tag of Rs 10,999 for the base model. The device shares most of its similarities with the Samsung Galaxy M12, especially the cameras. The device comes with some decent tech specifications and offers an HD+ 90Hz display bundled with a giant 6,000mAh battery at this pricing. So if you are looking for a budget smartphone it can be a great deal. Pros

The rumours about the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G have been floating around for days. After being spotted on the Geekbench we can surely confirm the company is just days away from making its new 5G smartphone appear in stores. The phone will be an updated version of Samsung’s other 5G phone the A52. Here are some major improvements over the last predecessor.

Expected Specification

The Samsung M52 is expected to have 164x76x7mm dimensions and will weigh approximately 175 grams. It will offer 11 5g bands with USB Type-C, a good old 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, GPS and dual SIM slots will be standard. The device will run on the company’s latest One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 OS. Talking about the display, the phone will house a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with Infinity-O cut out for the camera. The screen will have a Gorilla Glass 5 protection out of the box. Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is all set to launch in India soon. The company has itself confirmed the launch via Twitter. In addition to the exact launch date the company has also confirmed the colour options of the smartphone it will be available in. The device is going to succeed Galaxy A52 5G that debuted in India not long ago. Ahead of the India launch, the device went on sale in the UK revealing the expected pricing as well as its specification. Samsung took to Twitter to confirm its upcoming launch. The South Korean giant has announced plans to introduce Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G in India on September 1 at 12 noon. The tweet reads, “Awesome is just around the corner. Get ready as we unveil the all-new #GalaxyA52s5G in its Awesome glory on 1st September, 12 PM.” In addition to the launch date, the company has also revealed the colour option of the upcoming phone. As per the tweet, the handset will come in 3 stunning shades, ready to win you over: Awesome black, Awesome white and Awesome violet. Other details like specifications and availability details are supposed to be revealed on the day of launch. Ahead of this announcement the pricing of the device was also tipped. The 5G smartphone price is speculated to begin at Rs 35,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage while the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage will come at Rs 37,499.  Like we told you the Galaxy A52s was launched in the UK where it is available in a lone 6GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at GBP 409 that translates to Rs 41,353.  In terms of specifications Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display and 120Hz high refresh rate support. As for the software it runs on One UI 3 on top of Android 11. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, along with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The internal memory can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card. For the imaging, the upcoming 5G smartphone by Samsung will come with a quad rear camera setup that will include a  64-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel secondary sensor, a 5-megapixel macro shooter, and a 5-megapixel telephoto shooter. For taking selfies and video calling the phone sports a 32-megapixel sensor at the front. The phone is IP67 certified for dust and water resistance. It will be backed by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 25W Super Fast Charging. OnePlus 9 Series will soon get bigger as the company is tipped to launch another smartphone under the line-up. OnePlus 9RT is tipped to launch in India as well as in China in the coming month. The device has also appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website ahead of the official announcement. The company usually introduces its T-series phone in the month of October and the speculations also suggest an October launch. Tipster Mukul Sharma has spotted a OnePlus smartphone on the BIS certification website with the model number MT2111. The phone is believed to be the OnePlus 9RT, therefore, suggesting an imminent launch in the country. Recently the pricing, as well as complete specification, were also leaked on the web. As per the leaked details, the device will be offered in two different configurations of 8GB RAM with 128GB storage which is expected to be priced at CNY 2,999. Whereas the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model is said to come with a price tag of  CNY 3,299. The leaked pricing translates to Rs 34,400 and Rs 39,999 respectively. In terms of specification, the OnePlus 9RT is tipped to come with a 6.55-inch Samsung E3 full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution. The display is believed to have a 120Hz refresh rate support along with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The upcoming T-series phone from the Chinese manufacturer is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 870 SoC with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On the imaging front. OnePlus 9RT is expected to come with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor along with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX481 ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel black and white sensor. For selfies, it may include a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor on the front. The handset is speculated to be backed by a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. Flipkart is one of the most reputed e-commerce websites in India. We have often seen that there are videos online of people getting the wrong products or getting scammed while buying a product. What if you pay a premium for a mobile phone and get a cheap phone inside instead. Here is every detail regarding this event, which happened to a man in Dhanbad, India.

About the incident

The news came from a guy from Dhanbad, a city in Jharkhand. A common consumer whose identity is not to be disclosed on his request made a purchase from Flipkart. After investing his hard earned money he bought an iPhone 12, 128GB(blue) on Mon, 23rd Aug 2021. The order got shipped on Tue, 24th Aug 2021. But due to some issue, the order got delayed and got delivered on 29th Aug rather than 27th Aug 2021. Man purchases an iPhone 12 from Flipkart and gets a cheap Realme phone instead According to him, the delivery guy asked him to accept the delivery and tell him the OTP directly. Although being a smart consumer he insisted the delivery guy to let him unbox the package before handing him the OTP to which the delivery person accepted at once. The guy unboxed the Flipkart package as his younger brother took the video since they sensed something was fishy. To his surprise, he found out that the phone he received was a cheap Realme C11 smartphone instead of the expensive Apple iPhone 12.
He also mentioned that the bill inside was in the name of some different person. The man immediately returned the product and contacted customer care support. After the conversation with a customer executive twice at Flipkart, he was disappointed as the company requested time till evening 7 pm of the next day i.e 30th Aug 2021 to provide some solution regarding his purchase. Flipkart has to put better norms especially in lower-tier cities and check the orders properly before sending them to the customers. It raises a lot of questions on company service as well, what if the iPhone was received by some other person? The man in the video is still waiting to get his Apple iPhone. It’s really important for Flipkart to check their sellers as well. These kinds of experiences really affect consumers and people start to lose trust over companies and hit their reputation as well.

As per the company, these improvements will make Instagram Search more than just a way to find accounts and hashtags.  The social media platform is working to expand the full search results page experience that makes it even easier to go deep into your interests. At the moment the search results are shown under the tabs of Top, Accounts, Audio, Tags, and Places.  Instagram is focused on getting keyword search results right in English and will add support for other languages in the future. In addition to this, the photo-sharing app owned by Facebook is also planning to make search results better for exploration. For example, your search for “space” will show you space-related photos and videos, too. This is especially helpful when you don’t have an exact username or hashtag in mind when searching for a certain topic. Soon Instagram will also do away with the swipe up gesture to access links in Stories and replacing it with stickers. The users add links to their Instagram Stories and the viewers can access them with the swipe up gesture while watching the story but soon the swipe up links feature will be removed and be replaced with a  new link sticker option.  Many users have reported that they have received a notification stating the change will be implemented from August 30. It reads, “Starting August 30, swipe up links will go away. To add a link to your story, use the new link sticker,” The change is also applicable to verified businesses and creators accounts. Infinix is just a turn away from releasing its new product the Hot 11S next month. The speculative prices and variants for the new smartphone in the segment is doing the rounds. The phone will come in two variants. One is 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage priced at Rs 9,999. The other variant being 6GB RAM + 128 GB storage priced at Rs 10,999.

Specifications

The company confirmed that the phone will have an upgraded processor in the form of Mediatek Helio G88 SoC as compared to G85 on its previous version. The same processor can be found on the upcoming Redmi 10 Prime, which clearly states that the phone will give it a neck to neck competition. Other details on Hot 11S are still in the wrap by the company but we can surely tell that the phone will have no compromise in battery or display with a fast refresh rate. There will also be an upgrade seen in the camera department and the device will run on Android 11 based XOS. Reliance Jio is the company that changed internet consumption for everyone in India. And now with the collaboration of Jio with Google, the company is ready to launch a cheap smartphone that most people can afford and easily shift from 2G to 4G. Here are a few of the expected specifications of Jio Phone Next as the company didn’t officially announce.

Expected specification

Chairman of Reliance Industries, Mr Mukesh Ambani announced during the 44th Annual general meeting that the phone will go on sale on September 10, 2021. The design was showcased at the AGM event giving us a basic idea about what the phone holds. The Jio Phone Next will be having a 5.5-inch HD display powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 processor. Jio will make sure that the phone is equipped already with basic social applications like Facebook, Whatsapp and more. In the pictures, we can see that the Jio Phone Next has a removable plastic back. Also at the back, we can see a 13MP single camera unit which may not sound great but can’t complain from an entry-level smartphone. On the front, it houses an 8MP Selfie camera beside the light sensor. The phone will be powered by a non-removable 2,500mAh battery and dual sim setup, both supporting 4G VoLTE. With this the company is almost ready to accept pre-orders from customers. It’s really exciting to see what they have to offer to their loyal customers. The launch of this phone will also attract new customers. It is expected that the company will release Jio Phone Next at a price tag of Rs 3,499. Gamescom this year had some unexpected launches as well as trailers of much-awaited games. Due to the pandemic, many game release dates got delayed, which was a big letdown for many gamers. It was a 2 hours live event that was earlier planned as a hybrid offline and online event but later changed to online only. Many launches including Gamescom awards were on display for viewers. Here are the details of the biggest launches from the event that we are really excited about.

1. Saints Row

Saints Row The first game on the list released in Gamescom is Saints Row. Yes, the game had a reputation of being a cheap copy of the GTA series. Later the game changed its tract and it was a game living in a futuristic world with New technology, weapons and superhero-like powers. It is an insane open world game with a good storyline. With the trailer displayed in GamesCom, they teased a short snippet of what the gameplay and graphics of the game will look like. The game is likely to launch on 25th February 2022 and is up for pre-orders.

2. Death Stranding Director’s Cut

Death Stranding Director’s Cut Death Stranding Director’s cut was an exciting release by Kojima productions. It was showcased at Gamescom 2021 at the end of the event. The game was first released in PS4 and later updated to PS5 version with tons of updates like 4K visuals at 60fps performance. The main goal of the game is to deliver cargo from one place to the other.  This may sound boring but the production team made this idea really interesting by adding new fun ways and alien enemies. The game has futuristic weapons which got even better with the recent director’s cut. A multiplayer race mode was also showcased, which was really unexpected. DokeV It was an eye-catching announcement of the event. The game was displayed on the opening night of Gamecom. It’s easy to play. To sum up, it is a mix of Pokemon graphics with an open-world game and a pinch of K-pop. The story of the game is that the main character of the game has his own imaginary world in which we do missions and fight imaginary monsters that look cartoonish in a good way. Combined with an exciting open-world scenario and superheroes like power. Even though only the trailer was shown at the event with no launch dates, we are really excited about this game.

5. Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite Halo is one of the most awaited series by many gamers. It has been long missing from the radar by Microsoft. But finally, the game was showcased with a beautiful trailer on the opening night. The game revolves around the same concept of us being biologically advanced soldiers named spartans defending our world from monsters and saving others. The launch date was teased by the company as of December 8 2021 with limited edition Xbox Halo edition controllers, which look really neat. For the first time ever the company released its multiplayer version that will be absolutely free for everyone.

6. Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Marvel’s Midnight Suns After raking big numbers from its previously released Avenger games, the company is working with Firaxis games for a new tactical RPG. The new game will not only feature the legendary Marvel superheroes but also some exciting X-Men variants as well. The trailer looks really promising but the company had already experienced a blow and needed an extra boost to reunite its reputation. Let’s wait and see what is under its sleeves in March 2022.

In the trailer, nothing much was mentioned just showcasing how the trebuchet works. Although it follows a legacy of its titles, we can expect a lot from this game as well.

C. Dying Light 2

A new gameplay trailer was released for the game and the different citations the player will be facing. Paired with a new fighting style and parkour action, this will be an exciting release.

D. Horizon Forbidden West

The game is already delayed a lot but the release date has been finalised by the company as February 18, 2022, on PS4 and PS5.

E. LEGO Star Wars

Delayed since spring 2021 TT games took time to polish this game a lot and will release next around the same time.
