Redmi Note 11 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ have officially made their debut in the market. The new generation of the Redmi Note series has been launched in China and is expected to arrive in India as well but details about the Indian availability of the smartphone are still unknown. The devices have got some major design changes. Also, the phone now comes with improved fast charging and camera specifications.

The Redmi devices come in multiple configurations. The 4GB RAM with 128GB storage model of the vanilla Redmi Note 11 5G is priced at CYN 1,999 which is Rs 14,000 in Indian currency. The 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant comes with a price tag of CYN 1,299 which converts to Rs 16,400 and the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model will be available at CYN 1,499 that translates to Rs 18,700. There is an 8GB RAM with 256GB storage configuration as well which costs CYN 1,699 converting to Rs 21,100. The phone will be offered in three colours: Slight Mint, Shallow Dream Galaxy and Black Realm.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro will be available in 6GB RAM with 128GB storage at CYN 1,599 that is approximately Rs 18,700 whereas the price of the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage is set at CYN 1,899 that translates to Rs 22,300. The 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model cost CYN 2,099 which converts to Rs 22,300.

Last but not least the top-notch Redmi Note 11 Pro+ will be available in a variety of options. The 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant has been launched at CYN 1,899 which is approx. Rs 22,200. There is an 8GB RAM with 128GB/256B storage at CYN 2,099 that converts to Rs 24,500 and CYN 2,299 that is Rs 26,900. Both the Pro variants will be available in four colour options of Misty Forest, Mysterious Black, Shallow Dream Galaxy and Time Quite Purple. 

The Redmi Note 11 series will be available for purchase beginning November 1 in China.

The Redmi Note 11 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. It has up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage space. The phone features a 6.6-inch FHD display and comes with a refresh rate of 90Hz. 

The vanilla Redmi Note 11 has been downgraded with dual rear cameras from triple sensors of the previous generation. The new one has a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP secondary lens. While on the front the phone features a 16MP selfie camera.

Apart from this the smartphone houses a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. The 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type C post are also available for connectivity. 

Both the Pro models are almost identical in terms of specifications. 

The devices feature a 6.67 inch AMOLED display with a hole punch to house a selfie camera. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 260Hz touch sampling rate 20:9 aspect ratio and HDR10+. The Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC. It is offered with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro boasts a 5,160mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. On the other hand the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ houses a 4,500mAh battery with a mega 120W fast charging support. The combination of a 108MP camera sensor and 120W super-fast charging support take the device to another level. 

Both the handsets come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and equip JBL tuned stereo speakers. For connectivity, the phone includes 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1 GPS, Type C Port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Intel 12th Generation Alder Lake CPUs for desktops announced

Chipset manufacturer Intel has unveiled its new 12th Generation Core processor for desktops. Six new models have been announced that are based on Alder Lake architecture on the 10nm process. These are the company’s new generation of chipsets including three models: Intel Core i9-12900K, Core i7-12700K and Core i5-12600K. While the other three models have a KF suffix at the end that lacks UHD Graphics 770 GPU.

All the 6 desktop processors are based on Intel’s performance hybrid architecture featuring a combination of Performance-cores (P-cores), the highest performing CPU core Intel has built, and Efficient-cores (E-cores), designed for scalable multithreaded workload performance. All the processors are unlocked and overclockable and come with a mix of diverse performance and efficiency cores in consumer X86 PCs. Along with this the DDR5 RAM and the PCIe5.0 interconnect standard have also debuted. 

The Alder Lake CPUs will be using a hybrid of two core types and is similar to how ARM-based smartphone chipsets are developed. While the new 10m Intel 7 process will be used to manufacture all 12 Gen Core CPUs. The latest Golden Clove performance core to replace the existing Tiger Lake’s platform Willow Cove cores. Besides this, the Gracemont Efficiency core architecture is the successor of Lakefield which is the company’s first hybrid CPU released in 2020. As of now, the 12th Gen desktop Core i9 CPUs are announced to have 16 cores which include 8 performance and efficiency cores, 12 cores include 8 performance and 4 efficiency cores as well as 10 cores including 6 performance and 4 efficiency cores. The performance cores benefit from Hyper-Threading letting two threads run at the same time vehicle Efficiency cores don’t really. Though there will be nonlinear core or thread counts.

The Thread Director balanced workloads and assigned the best activities to each core which required Windows 11. 

According to the company, the Core i9-12900K provides astounding gen-over-gen performance increases, including up to 25% more FPS on Troy: A Total War Saga, up to 28% more FPS on Hitman 3, and up to 23% more FPS on Far Cry 63. Enhanced by Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E for up to 75% less latency while gaming when multitasking, high-frequency P-cores paired with E-cores for offloading parallel tasks enable up to 84% more frames per second for simultaneous gaming, streaming, and recording.

Moreover, the 12th Gen Intel Core desktop processors are the first to DDR5 memory for up to 4800MT/s, PCIe 5.0 (up to 16 lanes), which offers up to 2X I/O throughput over PCIe 4.0, with up to an additional four lanes of PCIe 4.0 support. In addition to this, it brings 30MB Intel Smart Cache (L3) and 14MB L2 cache for increased memory capacity with reduced latency. It comes integrated with Discrete Thunderbolt 4 universal cable connectivity for external device expansion.

On the other hand, the Intel 600 Series Chipset includes new  PCIe Gen 4.0 lanes make for 28 total lanes off the chipset, integrated USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 provides up to double the bandwidth, DMI Gen 4.0 increases the chipset to CPU throughput for fast access to peripheral devices and networking. It also offers Intel Volume Management Device (VMD) to PC chipsets to simplify storage control by allowing direct control and management of NVMe-based SSDs from the PCIe bus without additional RAID controllers or other hardware adaptors.

The unlocked 12th Gen Intel Core desktop processors are up for pre-orders now being offered by participating OEMs, channel partners, and retailers. Broad availability will start November 4 with more than 140 customers in more than 30 countries expected to add the new processors to their lineups by the end of the year. The price of the new Alder Lake processors will begin at   $264 to $589 for the unlocked desktop processors.

The company is likely to have hundreds of thousands of 12th Gen Intel Core desktop “K” processors by the end of the year and more than 2 million by the end of March 2022. To enable the expanded offerings for desktop, mobile and commercial segments expected in early 2022, Intel is also shipping 28 of the processor SKUs in the 12th Gen Intel Core processor family to OEM partners.

Paytm India largest digital payment platform today announced that it has received approval from SEBI for its IPO and it has now filed the Red Herring Prospectus. It has also disclosed its financials for three months ended June 2021, as the company prepares for its mega IPO. 

As of now, the proposed IP is the largest of its kind. Notably, the Rs 15,200 crore initial public offering of Coal India in 2010 was the country’s largest to date. Paytm’s IPO will open for subscription from November 8 at a price range of Rs 2,080- 2,150 per share with a face value of Rs 1 each. While Paytm’s IPO will close for subscription on November 10.

Paytm is planning an IPO worth Rs 18,300 crore making its largest market debut in the country till now. As a result of increased investor demand, it has increased the size of its initial public offering (IPO) from Rs 16,000 crore to Rs 18,600 crore.

According to the company’s RHP, Paytm’s revenues increased dramatically in three months ending June 2021 owing to its payments and financial service offerings. The Revenue from operations increased b 62 percent to $8,908 million in Q1FY22 from $5,512 million in Q1 for the year 2021. 

In addition to this Paytm’s payments and financial service revenue alone accounted for $6,894 million in Q1FY22 accounting for 77 percent of total revenue. The company’s contribution margin too increased significantly in Q1FY2022 rising from 14.9 percent in Q1FY21 to 27.4 percent in Q1FY22. Due to a loss of $3,819 million for the three months ending June 2021, the company’s marketing and promotional expenses increased to $ 1,3777 million for Q1FY22. Also, employee benefits expenses increased to $3,507 million in Q1FY22 from $2,138 million in Q1FY21. 

Paytm’s total user base has increased to 337 million registered consumers and over 21.8 million registered merchants as of June 30, 2021 according to the company’s RHP.

Plug your phone in the charger

Step 1 – Boot your phone into recovery mode.

  • iPhone 8 or later – Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the recovery-mode screen.
  • iPhone 7 series- Press and hold the Top (or Side) and Volume Down buttons simultaneously. Keep holding them until you see the recovery-mode screen.
  • iPhone 6s or earlier –  Press and hold both the Home and the power buttons simultaneously. Keep holding them until you see the recovery-mode screen.

  • iPhone 6s and earlier – Hold down both the Home button and Lock button. After 7-8 seconds, release the Lock button while still holding down the Home button.

The expected design, specs and price of the Oppo Reno 7 Series have surfaced on the web, therefore, indicating that the launch of the new smartphone series is imminent. Previously the Reno Pro’s camera specifications were leaked by a tipster and now the lineup has been spotted listed on the 3C certification website. Along with this, more reports, images have emerged confirming the form factor and pricing of the vanilla Reno 7 and  Reno 7 Pro.

According to GSMArena the prices of the Oppo Reno 7 Series have been leaked, The Oppo Reno 7 8GB RAM with 256GB storage is expected to cost CYN 2,999 that converts to Rs 35,200 whereas the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage model is likely to cost CYN 3,299 which is around Rs 38,700.

The patent images of the Oppo Reno 7 Pro were also leaked previously which were used to file with the China National Intellectual Property Administration. According to the leaked renders the upcoming Reno 7 Pro will bear a flat display similar to the existing one along with a punch hole cut out on the top left corner of the screen. There will be negligible bezels around the screen and the right spine of the phone will sport a power button while the volume rocker will be situated on the left. The device will keep the 3.5mm headphone jack, a SIM slot, Type C port and a speaker grille. The rear panel shows a rectangular-shaped quad-camera set-up. The report also suggests that the patent has been filed with four and triple sensors.

Apart from this the key specifications and renders of vanilla Reno 7 were tipped via Twitter. The phone is expected to offer a 6.5-inch FHD+ display by BOE. It may support a 90Hz refresh rate panel along with 10-bit colour. They could also come with MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Not just that the standard model is expected to house a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.

Furthermore, the Oppo Reno 7 is said to have a triple camera set up on its back which may include a 50MP Sony IMX766 lens. The Pro model could also equip a similar display paired with a secondary 9MP Sony IMX355 sensor and a 2MP sensor. 

For selfies, it is speculated to sport a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor. Not only these cameras will support the Z-axis linear motor. Besides this, there will be NFC and a vapour chamber liquid cooling system onboard. 

MySmartPrice discovered the Oppo Reno 7 Pro listed on China’s 3C certification website. Not much has been revealed but the device was found to be carrying model number PFDM00. It is suggested to support 65W SUPERVOOC 2.0 fast charging. Reportedly the smartphone will pack a 4,500mAh battery. On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 7 Pro is likely to include MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The devices are said to be released in a few months.

According to the company, this collaboration will play a critical role as announced on the sidelines of Snap in India. This is also the first time that Snap has ever partnered with an Indian e-commerce platform. 

Speaking about the partnership, Jeyandran Venugopal, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Flipkart, said, “The e-commerce landscape in India is changing rapidly with millions of new customers from all geographies looking for richer experiences online. Lenovo owned smartphone company, Motorola, is rumoured to be working on a new smartphone. Moto G200 is said to be under development and ahead of the official launch the device’s specification and other details have been leaked online. The alleged smartphone is likely to include a Snapdragon 888 SoC under its hood. In addition to this, the phone is expected to feature an FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

Ahead of the official announcement from Motorola, the key specs of its upcoming smartphone Moto G200 have been leaked on the web. The company has not yet confirmed anything about the alleged device. It is thought to be a follow up to the Moto G100, which was released in China earlier this year.

The purported Moto G200 has been codenamed Yukon according to tipster Evan Blass. Reportedly the Motorola smartphone is codenamed Yukon/Xpeng, which may hit the stores next month. 

As per the report by TechnikNews, a German publication, the G200 may feature a full HD+ display. The phone is likely to run on Android 11 and is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The upcoming Motorola phone could also be offered with 8GB of RAM. 

Whereas in terms of imaging, the Moto G200 might also come with a triple camera set up on its back panel. The camera system is said to house a Samsung’s 108-megapixel S5KHM2 sensor. Apart from this, there will be a 13-megapixel macro and a 2-megapixel depth sensor onboard. The Moto G200 is said to sport a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.

Rumours are that the Moto G200 may also arrive in China as Motorola Edge S30. Like we said earlier the company has not officially said anything with regard to the phone so this information should be treated with caution however the upcoming phone is speculated to share some common features as of Edge 20 Pro and Edge S Pro.

The company has shared an investor press release that confirms the existence of the device. The device will feature an all circular dial with oval buttons on the sides. It may arrive with 5ATM water resistance and a heart rate sensor. Along with this, the wearable is said to include Bluetooth v5.2 and GPS for connection. It could run on Wear OS and come with an Aluminium casing. The smartwatch is also said to enter mass production from next month.

When it comes to features, Samsung’s F-series smartphones are quite promising. It has everything at a reasonable price. We’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy F22 for a while now, and this is our long-term review. The phone costs Rs 11,999. It has a 90Hz HD+ SAMOLED display, a large 6,000mAh battery, and a 48-megapixel quad camera setup. Let’s look at if the smartphone is worth picking up?

The Samsung Galaxy F22 has a simple design that includes a plastic back and curved edges. Denim Blue and Denim Black are the available colours. For the review, we have the former shade. The back panel has a textured finish with horizontal stripes, which provides a good grip but does not give the phone a very premium appearance.

The phone weighs 203gms and has a heavy feel to it. The buttons on the side could have been placed better. The fingerprint scanner is set a little higher than we would like, making it difficult to reach with one hand. As a result, the volume rocker placement is further away, requiring you to stretch your thumb to reach both buttons.

In terms of performance, the Samsung Galaxy F22 is powered by a 12nm octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. The device is available in two configurations: 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. The fact is that the company includes this chipset in all of its mid-range smartphones. To be honest, we’re not thrilled with the chipset’s performance, but it’s not terrible either for the price bracket. 

The processor is capable of handling day-to-day tasks well, particularly when combined with Samsung’s UI. The phone comes with Samsung’s UI on top of Android 11. The UI is similar to that of other Samsung handsets, but it does come with pre-installed apps, many of which can be uninstalled immediately to make room for other apps. 

The phone handles lighter applications nicely and performs well too when multitasking. The handset is fine-tuned to keep apps in memory for a longer period of time. Gaming, on the other hand, is only adequate given the price tag. Call of Duty is playable at medium to high graphics and decent framerate settings. After about 30 minutes of gameplay, the phone gets a little warm, which most in the category do.

In terms of cameras, the Samsung Galaxy F22 features a quadruple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor. There is also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. A 13-megapixel camera sensor is located on the front of the device for selfies and videography.

The camera specifications are comparable to those of the Galaxy M32. The images from the F22 come out softer at times, but not bad. The colour reproduction on both phones is identical, but we believe the F22 has a better dynamic range and contrast.

While the ultra-wide photos are only sufficiently accurate, they can be used when necessary. The ultra-wide images come out a bit dark, but considering the price, we have no complaints.

We were astounded by the portrait results. They were superior to the Galaxy M32. The background separation and colour appear natural and pleasing, while the subject’s skin tone appears smooth and pinkish in tint.

The nighttime images are surprisingly good, despite our disappointment with the M32 in this regard. 

The selfies appear softer, but we prefer the ones taken by M32. Why you ask? The selfies on the Galaxy F22 are soft and have slightly dull colours. So, in one department the F22 wins and in the other the M32.

The Samsung Galaxy M32 is powered by a 6,000mAh battery. It easily lasts for days when multitasking, watching videos, gaming, browsing the web, and scrolling through social media feeds. However, you only get a 15W charger, which takes a long time to charge the device. Instead, we recommend, a 25W charger should be purchased separately for faster charging. 

Verdict

When we consider the phone’s price (Rs 11,999), we are quite pleased with its performance. The Samsung Galaxy F22, is best suited for light gaming, but the likes of demanding games such as Call of Duty can be played too. This, in our opinion, is the best budget smartphone available on the market right now.
